Wars are a vital part of the Club Penguin army community. They are the thing that separates armies from other non-army Club Penguin groups. Given that we are in the Twentieth Summer, in this part I cover the wars in CPA starting from its formation till the end of 2023.

Introduction
In the Club Penguin Armies era, there have been many wars so far throughout the years. In this post, the wars that have been more important historically and larger are analysed more, compared to the ones that were short-lived or had little to no effect. Generally, the post aims mostly to mention the wars rather than do a deep dive into them. The wars are categorised by years, while war winners are recognised based on the treaties. This post contains the wars of the first two years, while the second part will include 2024 – present.
2022
Early Wars
The community began engaging in wars quickly, as just 16 days after the league opened, on July 17, the first war was declared. The declaration was sent right after the map draft was completed, with the Templars attacking the Rebel Penguin Federation. It was also the first Major versus Major war. TCP was maxing the most at the time, while RPF had smaller numbers, but still a Major. On the same day, the Ice Warriors declared war on the Magma Clan. The war ended on July 26, after MC forfeited the war, getting a force treaty against it afterwards and merging into the Special Weapons and Tactics. The TCP RPF war ended a bit later, after much drama over war terms. On August 2, a treaty was signed between the armies. In that treaty, RPF was seen as the victor, with a score of 9-0-1.
As soon as the war ended, TCP struck again, this time attacking the Ninjas in an off-map war. The war ended not long after, with both armies putting a pause to hostilities. Just a week later, there was another strike, with TCP declaring war on the Lime Green Army. TCP ended up withdrawing from the war on August 23, which counted as a violation of its war terms. Thus, the LGA put out a force treaty on TCP, with the Templars keeping their land but accepting defeat.
The First Large-Scale War
Exactly at the same time, there was a quadruple declaration against SWAT. Specifically, the Templars, Ice Warriors, Water Vikings, and Help Force united on the same front, named as the Amogus Alliance, to attack the Special Weapons and Tactics. This marked the first war that was not a 1-versus-1. At the same time, all armies involved were major armies, making the war a large-scale one. The Strawhats, a meme army of that time, entered the war as well against SWAT, while the Mercenaries attempted to declare a 1-versus-1 war on the Strawhats. SWAT surrendered the war to the Strawhats and tried to get a favorable treaty only with them, which was not deemed valid. SWAT ended up getting force treated by the four armies a few days later.
The Chaos Continues
The 1-versus-1 war term between the Mercenaries and the Strawhats stopped being valid on September 23, so the Templars took the chance and declared war on both armies. The Strawhats made an unexpected response, declaring war on the entire army community. The army ended up shutting down before the end of the war.
A bit of time passed till the next war happened. On October 20, the Army of Club Penguin, which had been neutral all this time, declared war on the Ice Warriors. This was one of the shortest-lasting wars, with the IW surrendering just 27 minutes later.
The next war started on November 3. The Templars declared a war once again, but this time against the Water Vikings. WV deemed the declaration invalid and issued its own declaration. This war had as many battles as declarations, as after 2 battles, it ended with a treaty and no winner.
The final war for the year was another alliance war against the SWAT. This time, the Circus Alliance, made of ACP, TCP, and the Dark Vikings, faced the SWAT in a war, right before the end of the year. On December 31, TCP and DV sent their force treaties against the SWAT, which were later deemed invalid. Some days later, SWAT and ACP signed their own treaty, with ACP winning the war officially. After that, the SWAT force treated the Templars due to the latter multilogging.
2023
A New Year Begins
January 2023 was the first peaceful month, with no wars taking place. On February 9, SWAT found itself in another war. But this time they were the attacker instead, aiming at RPF. The war ended 11 days later, via a mutual treaty, with RPF winning with a score of 10-0-0 in its favor.
The Herberts of Club Penguin tried to declare war on the IW while it was shutting down as an army, on March 11, but it was deemed invalid. Another war followed 8 days later, between the Penguins of Madagascar and the SWAT. The most interesting thing about this war was that an SM army, POM, declared war to a Major one, SWAT. The war was put on hold through a mutual treaty, on March 31, after dissatisfaction with the Club Penguin Army Judges.
On March 30, ACP declared a one-versus-one war on DV. Just two days later, MC declared war on POM, even though the former had no land. The war went through drama after multilogging was discovered in MC, but it continued only to be ended a few days later after POM breached the terms. Thus, MC sent a force treaty to POM.
Rising Tensions
On April 14, the Templars and the SWAT declared war on each other, both sending their declaration at the same minute. The war lasted for nine days, ending through a mutual treaty with both armies recognising the score of 8 TCP wins, 1 tie, 6 SWAT wins. On April 29, the Templars sought to expand their empire and declared war on MC, which ended shortly after with a TCP victory after MC violated the war terms. Around that time, the Napalm Corps and the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin invaded other armies‘ land without issuing a declaration.
On May 22, the People’s Imperial Confederation and the SWAT declared war on the Dark Vikings. The following day, the Napalm Corps also joined against DV, while the day after, Dark Pirates of Club Penguin did the same. Thus, the Sapphire Concordat was born, being made of the armies mentioned above. The war was named The Bloodbath Barrage. It ended on June 2 after DV violated the war terms, with a war score of 12-0-0 in favor of SC. At the same time, on May 28, ACP declared a 1-versus-1 war on the SWAT. That war did not last long, as the SWAT exited the map on June 3, thus violating one of the war terms and getting force treated.
World War IX
On June 1, the Rebel Penguin Federation, Water Vikings and Elite Guardians all declared 1 vs. 1 wars against ACP, with the Blue Sunset Alliance being born out of the 3 armies. However, the CPA admins interfered and labelled the war as a free-for-all instead of a 1 vs. 1. Right after the declarations, WV and ACP clashed in a raid. The following day, the Sapphire Concordat also joined the war, in favor of ACP. This meant that PIC, SWAT, TCP, and the NC all joined the war on ACP’s side. In the first battle, which was ACP’s invasion of WV’s capital, Alabama, there were over 120 users online. It was a close battle with both alliances maxing similarly, the BSA slightly more. Eventually, BSA managed to win the battle and defend WV’s capital.

Many battles followed, with some days having up to 7-8 battles and the Club Penguin Army Judges struggling the most, as the majority of the judges were involved in the war. On the sixth day of the war, it was recognised as a World War by the Wiki. 32 battles followed, all won by the BSA, while NC and PIC got force treated after losing all their land. Yet, the ACP and TCP both still had many servers under their hold. The war ended on June 13, with a mutual treaty and both alliances agreeing that the war outcome was a tie. The former treaties against NC and PIC were withdrawn and replaced with the general one too. The next day, RPF broke the treaty and got force treated by SCA, losing its land.
Post World War IX Conflicts
After the World War was over, armies were fatigued from the battles and remained peaceful for a while. Up until August, there was only one invasion scheduled. This changed on August 8, when the ACP declared war on EGCP. The war ended on August 26, after EGCP performed a toxic tactic against ACP. Thus, ACP was able to issue a force treaty against them. It contained 34 battles, with ACP winning 18, losing 15, and tying 1. During the war, on August 16, SWAT declared war on TCP. The war ended 11 days later, with TCP issuing a force treaty. TCP managed to win all 17 battles of the war.

Battle between ACP and EGCP
EGCP in Trouble
There was a period of peace once again. However, all the remaining wars of the year included EGCP. The first one started on November 4, with EGCP declaring war on the SWAT. There were 3 battles taking place in that war, with SWAT announcing that it would not show up anymore afterwards.
Finally, the Templars, PIC, Coup Crusaders, and ACP all declared war on EGCP on December 22. The 4 armies also created an alliance, the United Front Alliance. The war was labelled The Christmas Crusade, with the battles taking place around the Christmas holidays and the war continuing in the new year as well. The Coup Crusaders quit the war earlier, on January 11, with the remaining armies staying in the war. Eventually, the war ended on January 21 with both factions agreeing to cease hostilities.
The frequency of wars was much different than compared to now. Despite lacking in some aspects, 2022 and 2023 were definitely active when it came to wars. The war trend unfortunately did not continue in the following years, as will be seen better in the second part. Did you enjoy this post? Which war surprised you the most?
