Prologue

While it isn’t fully documented when exactly Thunder222 entered the community, his accomplishments are well known. He started off in the Lime Green Army, getting up to Leader in Training. From then, he moved on to revive his first army as leader, Cherries. The Cherries shut down after suffering a defacement, leading him to the Dark Vikings. However, once again, Thunder found himself in the middle of controversy when he exposed Krosive. Finally, he made his way to the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, where he helped out, achieving a high rank in their third generation.

The Start of An Era

On May 3, 2025, Thunder founded his next army, Shadow Legionnaires, registering it on November 15 of the same year. This army had quite an eventful life. First, they warred against the Void Troops on July 2, 2025. After quickly signing a treaty with VT, they joined The White Order‘s war against the Rebel Penguin Federation in mid-September 2025, losing 9-0-0. They then entered their first hiatus on September 30, 2025, returning on October 7, 2025.

Second Generation

Their first big move upon returning was to ally with Special Weapons and Tactics sometime in January 2026. On March 31, 2026, the Legionnaires won their first trophy: the March Madness XI S/M trophy. Shadow Legionnaires continued and declared war on Fire Vikings on April 10, 2026, which they won on May 9, 2026, with Fire Vikings’ surrender. On April 25, 2026, they allied with the Army of Club Penguin. Shadow Legionnaires raided Businessmen of Club Penguin on May 12, 2026; however, events just three days later quickly defused the war.

Tragedy

Then tragedy struck on May 15, 2026, with the defacement of their server happening by a former leader, AB. Despite this, Shadow Legionnaires recovered and won the S/M bracket of the Around the World Cup III tournament on June 7, 2026.

Recent History

Recently, they reached the grand finals of the CPA20 Challengers Cup. During this battle, they lost to the Masked Bandits, but put up a great effort. They then earned another achievement on September 15, 2026, winning “Best CPPS-era S/M army” by the community vote in the CPA 20 Awards. Later, Shadow Legionnaires proceeded to declare war on Masked Bandits on September 17, 2026, by dropping a nuke on their capital. However, this war ended a mere five hours later with Masked Bandits’ surrender.

Immediately jumping into the next tournament available, October Horrors II; reaching the final round before being beat 3-0-0 by FV. As of October 27, 2026, Fire Vikings declared war on Shadow Legionnaires.

Retirement

On the day before their war with Fire Vikings, October 26, 2026, however, Thunder announced his retirement. In his announcement, he made it clear this had nothing to do with the tournament loss. Instead, he mentioned that he believed that he didn’t make all the right decisions recently.

Club Penguin Armies tried to reach out to Thunder for an interview; he has yet to respond.

Thunder’s retirement will undoubtedly have a large impact on Shadow Legionnaires and perhaps the army community as a whole. Do you think Thunder will return to SL/CPA? How do you think this will affect Shadow Legionnaires?
