On May 15, 2026, Shadow Legionnaires woke to a defacement led by their former leader, AB. The server was completely defaced, channels were removed, and people were banned. Furthermore, this occurs right before the Around the World Cup III tournament. How does SL hold on in this crisis? Club Penguin Armies reviewed their timeline to explore what led to this turn of events.

1:00 pm ET: AB and some SL members wear the Doritos uniform to raid a practice battle between Romans and the Abyssal Tides. Emphatically, this incident took place without authorization from the SL leadership and with no approval from Doritos to use their name and uniform.

After the aforementioned concerning actions and behaviour in the previous days, the Legionnaires removed AB from his position of leadership. It is to be noted that AB was hired only earlier this month.
Friday, May 15, 2026
1:50 am ET to 2:00 am ET: The SL Discord is defaced by former member AB through another account. The community woke up to a chat resonating that SL “was defaced.”

2:20 am ET: Subsequently, GreenVege announced that its server was “defaced by AB.” They began rebuilding the server, attempting to restore every channel. However, it is not possible to recover messages from these channels.

4:37 am ET: Shortly after, SL leader Thunder222 announced a 12-day break from events to rebuild their server and invite all unfairly banned individuals. Additionally, this followed GreenVege’s vegement that was posted two hours earlier.

11:43 pm ET: Two days after the defacement of the server, Thunder222 releases a statement that includes an investigation into AB, summarizing what happened. As a result, the army community could access a timeline with comments on what happened, backed by pictures and comments from the SL team and the leader.

Monday, May 18, 2026
Finally, the Shadow Legionnaires relaunch their recruiting operations. The SL leadership declared that they will begin recruiting four days after the beginning of their reconstruction. Furthermore, it can be said that the Discord server is in a full-swing makeover, potentially promising the return of the army’s lost momentum.
Lastly, Club Penguin Armies got the opportunity to talk with SL leader Thunder222 regarding the defacement of his army’s Discord server.
What led to the removal of your former leader, AB?
It all resulted in a 2 day investigation after he started to act really suspicious which resulted him wanting more power, wanting me out and eventually wanted the army to drift away from SL that he streamed and was not joking
What measures are being taken to mitigate the damage?
For now some visitors will not be seeing our chat, even some got banned, we need to look more further into peoples history, Daniel did say AB did not enlist in ACP. Which suspects us for his other ranks to be false too.
Do you believe that this incident will affect SL in the long run, or even cause a shutdown?
SL lost a lot of staff due to his actions and points that ” I wanted SL to be major” while wanting others and him to revive a complete different army.
ATWC III was difficult for us to decide since we still want people who got kicked to join back, which our EU got the most effected out of the other divisions on the server. But we digressed and want our participation to grow back what we were

To conclude, Shadow Legionnaires seem to be slowly rebuilding themselves. Despite a severe setback, the army is looking away from a hiatus or shutdown. Moreover, through this incident, they are proving Thunder222’s words, “to grow back [to] what we were.” Do you think SL will truly restore what they have lost?
