The community vote has closed, and the results are already here! Read on to find out how the community voted.

Having supported the shortlisting process, the community was asked to vote across the 20 awards available at the Gala this weekend. 31 community members participated in this final vote, though 1 vote had to be discarded due to issues with the form. This is still slightly more than last time! 

But what power does the community have in these awards? We felt this was an opportunity to experiment with how we could offer the community more power over the final results when the stakes are higher than usual. After discussion amongst the board, we’re here to share that the community vote will translate to 20% of the overall vote. This is thought to be the most power given to the community on a vote of this magnitude since OG, though the recent CPA Summit is a close contender!

We then felt that this put considerable power (and pressure!) on the CPA 20 Committee to vote fairly. To help alleviate this, we reached out to the Legends Committee via DMT and Mare for their support in staging a third vote available to CPA’s Legends Committee. We felt that the Legends Committee could bring a lot of value to the table as a more experienced voice. A sizeable group from the Legends Committee joined our server at the start of this week and has participated in two discussions about the awards! This third vote has received 40% of the overall vote, better balancing the weighting.

This means that overall:

• The CPA 20 Committee holds 40% of the overall vote
• The Community holds 20% of the overall vote.
• The Legends Committee Representatives hold 40% of the overall vote.

What Happens Next

With the community vote closed, votes within the CPA 20 Committee and the Legends Committee are now live. These will run for a very short period, closing just in time for the Twentieth Anniversary Gala. We’ll announce the final winners there. As always, stay tuned!
