BREAKING NEWS: The Shadow Legionaries declared war on the Masked Bandits, yet the war was short-lived. The force treaty was issued just a bit less than 5 hours after the declaration.

Masked Bandits

The Masked Bandits is a new army, founded on August 2 by Justin and Sweater. Despite being less than two months old, the army has been in the spotlight several times and has become one of the most influential Small/Medium armies lately. Just four days after their opening event, the army had already made their first allies, the Fire Warriors. The two armies seemed to have a similar dynamic, both maxing around 10-15 in their events.

The drama soon reached the army too. Tensions started rising between the Shadow Legionaries and the Masked Bandits. Both armies started provoking each other, with the rivalry between the two becoming more and more intense as time passed. The two armies also both participated in the CPA20 Challengers Cup and faced each other in the Grand Finals. There, MB defeated SL, winning 2 rooms and tying one, even though SL maxed 23 and MB 18. Before the battle, the SL tactics document was leaked, with MB attempting to wipe its contents. Additionally, SL leader Thunder222 was banned from CPA: Battleground due to the tactics he did in game in a previous battle.

Shortly after the battle, Sweater was banned from Club Penguin Armies and removed from the Club Penguin Army Judges team after he doxxed Thunder and also made heavy ableist remarks in other servers, along with his aggressive behaviour in the CPA server. Following this, he also stepped down from his position in MB as leader and transferred the server to the former advisor Ryebread. On August 31, MB declared war on the Pizzaiolis of Club Penguin. The war ended with a treaty on September 16, with MB taking all PiCP land apart from its capital. The army is currently led by Justin.

Shadow Legionaries

The Shadow Legionaries have been one of the most consistent armies lately. Founded by Thunder on May 3, 2025, they have been involved in several events in the community. In September 2025, they were a member of The White Order alliance that faced the Rebel Penguin Federation. The army is currently in its second generation, as it had a brief hiatus near the end of September 2025 until the middle of October.

In 2026, the army has had much success, initially winning the SM section of March Madness XI. Then, on April 10, it declared war on the Fire Vikings. The Abyssal Tides also ended up joining the war against SL a few days later. SL managed to defeat the Abyssal Tides quickly, issuing the force treaty on April 15. After the war was temporarily halted, SL managed to defeat FV as well, with the latter surrendering and being force treated on May 10. On May 12, the Businessmen of Club Penguin declared war on the Shadow Legionaries after the latter tried to raid a freeland invasion of the first. Peace was achieved three days later with a treaty and no battle having taken place.

More recently, as mentioned above, SL managed to reach the CPA20 CC finals, where it faced and lost to MB. With tensions being high between the two armies, and many posts and messages having been exchanged between them, SL decided to declare war, named Operation Shik, on MB on September 17, 10:35 am EDT. The army is currently led by Thunder, GreenVegetable, and Yuii.

The War

Right after the declaration, SL also used a nuke on the MB capital, disabling its income for four weeks.

Shortly after, the former MB leader Sweater doxxed Thunder in the Masked Bandits’ main chat and wrote a response post to the SL declaration. A bit more than two hours later, before CPA took further action that would end the war in favor of SL, Justin surrendered the war by dropping his army’s land. This, allowed SL to issue a force treaty on MB. Thus, at 3pm EST, the war officially ended with SL being the victors.

What was the reason behind the war declaration?

All of the drama, harrassment, ableism and other comments that sweater and others even defending him. Its all lead up to them getting what they expected but ignored.

Did you expect MB to respond like that?

I didnt expect sweater to contact my school but it got resolved pretty quickly, i expected to be doxxed since thats his only response to make.

Given that SL is currently the army with the most land on the map, what is your next goal?

Others in hcom want SL to be Major.

Sweater, if youre reading this and want others and me to stop talking about you, maybe ignore and idk, dont dox me and contact my school? You basically downgraded your relationship just to harass someone who used to be in special education :/

I do admit, some of my comments like me writting future divorce papers on our war post, mentioning your wife that she wouldnt be happy to see you do these stuff and so on, remember dude, admit to your mistakes and comments (such as ableism and other related notes) and i admit to mine. You have commited defamation over a minor. and now youre taking this much more further then ignoring it and moving on. Welcome to your world of fantasy.

Despite its short duration, the war was one of the most heated ones recently. Things even got out of hand, with Sweater now being banned from the entire community forever. Do you think SL will manage to become a major army?
