Top 5 Moments of February 2024

The second month of this year can be deemed as one of the most happening months in quite some time, despite being the shortest. With a war ending, a tournament being announced, new alliances being formed, and way too many changes in leadership of armies, this month has been a witness to many worthwhile moments.

As it is done every month, the Club Penguin Armies staff team came together and hosted an internal vote for what we believed to be the “Top Five Moments” of February 2024. This includes moments that have resulted in a significant impact on the community as a whole.

5T. People’s Imperial Confederation and Winged Hussars Form an Alliance

Written by: Coolguy

In January, the People’s Imperial Confederation and Winged Hussars went to war with many reasons being stated for the declaration by the Confederation. However, whilst the armies had their differences, the war would see the competitive spirit light up within the SM community. PIC hoped that this war would be the start of something much bigger for all SM armies. However, following the war’s conclusion on February 3rd, the two armies became allies on February 7th. Despite being on opposing sides during the war, they found common ground, solidifying a newfound friendship between the armies and their leaders.

2. March Madness IX is announced

Written by: Coolguy

On February 26th, Club Penguin Armies‘ Chief Executive Producer, Mchappy, announced the ninth edition of the historic March Madness tournament. The origins of March Madness date back to 2013, making it 11 years since it first premiered within the community. With the announcement came a controversial change which would see the March Madness structure change into a double-elimination. The change scared many armies because of the uncertainty and length of the tournament, not to mention Easter coming up. Therefore, the Administration, along with the Army Board, decided to revert back to the original format. The seedings for the tournament were released in March, seeing just eight armies take part. Who will come out on top and become the ninth-ever winner of the tournament?
