SIDIE9’S BEGINNING AND PIC
Sidie9 began in the army scene in 2010 with the Special Weapons and Tactics, initially as a rogue. In 2011, she joined the Ice Warriors but noticed a lack of events in her Australian time zone. To address this, she teamed up with friends to create the Army of Darkness, which became the first AUSIA division army. She later founded other AUSIA-based armies like the Army Union and Heroes. Beyond her stints in these armies, Sidie additionally led the Army of Club Penguin during its original Club Penguin era.

Army of Darkness Event
Fast forward to October 19, 2019, Sidie and an army veteran, Proditor, established an army called People’s Imperial Confederation. In early October, the concept of the People’s Imperial Confederation was forming in the mind of Sidie9 during her time as a returning member of the Army of Club Penguin. She aimed to revive the People’s Republic Army, but veteran Prior Bumble halted her, citing PRA law against such efforts. As a result, on October 17th, Sidie established PIC, an entirely new socialist-themed army. Proditor agreed to assist in building the army, but he wasn’t ready to lead.

PIC’s Opening Event
In March 2020, former Commander NotManuGinobili reached out to Sidie9 to talk about bringing back PIC. Sidie was a bit hesitant at first, but she eventually decided it was time to revive the army. On March 23, 2020, they held their first event since the War of Green Peril wrapped up in 2019. LuckyLuigi, a well-known member of the Recon Federation of Club Penguin, joined in and was quickly welcomed by Sidie9 and Manu as the Commander in Chief. The People’s Imperial Confederation picked up steam fast, growing to sizes they hadn’t seen in a long time. They faced off against armies like the ACP in practice battles, showing a bravery and determination that was impressive and not often seen before.

PIC’s Re-opening Event
World War Rewritten
In April, PIC got caught up in a conflict that people ended up calling World War Rewritten. The Rebel Penguin Federation, along with their allies, went against the ACP. It may not have lasted long, but this highlighted how determined they were to stand up to anyone who tried to challenge them. During the war, NotManuGinobili decided to resign. Shortly after that, Phoebe and Emma were brought in as the new Commanders-in-Chief of the army, teaming up with Sidie9.

Challengers Cup
Sidie9 led PIC through Challengers Cup in 2020 by defeating Aliens and Tsanami’s Crimson Guardians. They fought their way to the Grand Finals, boldly facing their biggest rival of the era, Pizza Federation. They lost the final and, facing internal challenges and a drop in troop numbers from the Challengers Cup scandal, Sidie9 and Emma took a temporary leave from the army. Shortly after this, the Red Ravagers, Pizza Federation, and Templars attacked and invaded PIC on three fronts during this recovery period.

PIC’s Return And Legends Cup XI
People’s Imperial Confederation returned with a third-generation, led by PIC veterans Sidie9, Emma, and LuckyLuigi, on January 7, 2021. In the weeks that followed, the army saw a huge boost, with more and more people joining up and new units being created fast. This growth not only made their numbers stronger but also lifted everyone’s spirits, making leaders and troops feel hopeful about the future as they prepared to handle new challenges and opportunities.

PIC’s Reopening Event
PIC participated in Legends Cup XI, where they faced their allies, ACP, in round one. They advanced to the next round when ACP dropped out of the tournament. However, their journey came to an end in round two after they were eliminated by TCP.

War with Golden Troops
PIC and Golden Troops were allies for a time until PIC started noticing toxicity from GT. PIC leadership approached Smart Penguins, not realizing they shared a similar interest, and asked if they wanted to join, on their side, in the upcoming war. SP were looking forward to expanding, whilst PIC became interested in warfare after their alliance with GT ended. Smart Penguins declared war on Golden Troops, and PIC targeted their colony, Post Malone Army. PIC would call this war the Fall Apart War, which they eventually won.

Challengers Cup II
In round one of Challengers Cup II, PIC defeated Dua Inn Lipa Fighters 2-0-1 to advance to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, they were up against Secret Services, their allies at the time, which resulted in a win for PIC. SS became suspicious and started questioning Club Penguin Armies Headquarters staff members, pointing out that PIC was using allies and dual-enlists, which wasn’t true. After their battle, they proceeded into the Grand Finals against Fire Warriors, where they lost 3-0, securing second place in CCII.

Sidie9’s Retirement from PIC
Sidie9 announced on February 7 that she will step down from her position as Commander-in-Chief. On PIC’s website, she stated her reasons for retiring. She plans to remain as an advisor within the army, and at her retirement event, 17 people showed up.

Sidie9’s Retirement Event
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Sidie to interview her about her journey so far.
Is there something that you would have done differently?
I’m incredibly proud of the legacy of the Confederation and my career as a whole. Beyond leading Templars, PIC is the pride and joy of my time in armies. There is a lot that I should have done differently; I wouldn’t be able to pick one event or decision in particular. Perhaps my greatest downfall has been the vicious cycle of ambition and self-doubt. I wanted PIC to be a genuine force for good in this community, embodying the values of acceptance, justice, belonging, socialism and more. In the wake of perceived personal failures I stagnated and I became an ouroboros. Whether it be losing battles or my army becoming attacked by the court of public opinion, I allowed it to define myself as a leader. This happened mostly during my time leading the Army of Club Penguin but also PIC as well. I’ve learned through time to be more kind to myself, not only in this game but also in real life, because it is human nature to make mistakes and those who are driven by a need to be perfect are truly the most insecure of all. That’s not who I want to be.
Do you think there’s something you would’ve wanted to achieve and you couldn’t?
Winning the grand finals of Challengers Cup 1 and 2 for starters. Thank you to the CPA administration for waiting for the one year in which PIC was closed to host another Challengers Cup, for this I will send you to Guantanamo. We won three consecutive S/M tournaments though, being only army to do it besides Pizza Federation, so I’m not really bothered. I wish we could have reached #1 on the Top Ten but PIC never needed to be the best army for it to be meaningful.
What is something you would say to someone who would like to become a leader of an army or even create their own army?
It’s going to take time. To make an army you need to create a real community with culture and genuine members, this does not happen overnight. Rome was not built in a day, keep chasing your dream and stay ambitious. Even if you fail to see immediate results or accomplish your goals as quickly as you’d like, keep believing in yourself and your team. It may be hard to do so at times but the end result is incredibly rewarding, trust me.
What is one of your favourite moments in the army community?
My career has been way too long to name one moment. If I had to pick one thing it would be all the memories I’ve made and all the amazing people I’ve met, especially my girlfriend Shallissa. This place has helped to form who I am, I wouldn’t be the same without it.
Do you have anything else to add?
FOR THE PEOPLE! Shallissa was robbed of S/M legend, Viva Victory, long live the Confeds in Red, PIC will return for Avengers: Doomsday, AVE TEMPLARIA.
Clearly, Sidie’s career has been very interesting so far. Lots of wars and tournaments under her leadership in PIC came to an end. What do you think of her journey throughout PIC? In some parts, if you were in her position, what would you have done?
