Perhaps one of the most eventful and competitive years in the modern era, 2025 was defined by community growth. Even though the year lacked warfare in the major scene of the community, we witnessed many fantastic moments this past year, as well as controversial ones. In this post, we will revisit the past twelve months and reflect on what defined the year that passed.

JANUARY
Words by: Edu14463
2025 kicked off in calm waters compared to 2024. On January 4, Club Penguin Armies introduced 2024’s Person of the Year. The award was given to Ugly, who led the Army of Club Penguin throughout the year, being at the eye of the hurricane while at the helm of the Clovers. Moreover, a few days later, the Legends Committee Head DMT announced the results of the 2024 induction cycle. Thus, we saw Rebel Penguin Federation Leader Link3000 being inducted as Major Army Legend for his numerous achievements in the army, and the founder of Winged Hussars, Shinzo, was inducted as Small/Medium Army Legend. To complete the awards season, the CPA Administration also recognized former Chief Executive Producer Mchappy as its newest Memorable Member, for his work as administrator.
Besides that, the community witnessed an old face returning: the Smart Penguins were gearing up for a revival; and also faces departing: Void64 announced their retirement from the Aliens, and Aucraia and MayK packing their bags to leave The Bastille Vanguard leadership. Additionally, on January 5, the Water Vikings announced yet another lockdown, due to their low performance in the latter part of 2024. Nonetheless, we also saw armies rejoining CPA. First, on January 6, the Special Weapons and Tactics hosted a revival event after a short break, maxing surprising 17 troops. On January 11, it was time for the Elite Guardians to return after an unfortunate demise in the previous year. They maxed 25 troops in their revival. The Scarlet Republic also made its first appearance on the following day, January 12, under the leadership of Ghostt and Imvge.
However, what was a rather peaceful start to 2025 quickly changed. On January 11, the infamous Doritos of Club Penguin issued a declaration of war against ACP. Dubbing it “The Revenge Tour“, DCP stated ACP must be defeated “in order to maintain justice, fairness, and honour among the Club Penguin community”. This was an off-map war, which resulted in a DCP victory after ACP ghosted three battles in a row. On January 16, right after the conclusion of this war, the Clovers were quick to declare war on their brother-allies, Help Force, probably a move to defend themselves against enemy invasions on the map. Following the war trend, the Templars also declared war on the Weeknds of CP, citing the misconduct of leader Fun X Time as a reason, as well as the People’s Imperial Confederation entering a conflict against the Dark Pirates.
The first month of the year wraps up with the Winged Hussars celebrating their sixth anniversary on January 21, Holo2 and Subzero joining SWAT as Commanders-in-Chief, with the former shortly retiring after internal conflicts with Zuke, and the Spartans closing their doors, giving birth to another Mercenaries generation.
FEBRUARY
Words by: Kira
February 2025 proved to be a particularly eventful month within the community. The month saw the introduction of the first-ever Candy Crusher Brawl, a Valentine’s Day one-day tournament inspired by Mchappy’s Trick or Treat Trials. Help Force inducted Diwix into leadership and concluded its war with the Army of Club Penguin, which immediately declared war on the Templars, initiating the Winter Antioch Campaign. The People’s Imperial Confederation also declared war on Special Weapons and Tactics, while the newly opened Scarlet Republic briefly allied with SWAT before quickly unallying.
The Doritos of Club Penguin were active in multiple conflicts, declaring war on the Smart Penguins, Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, and The Bastille Vanguard. During the army’s 15th Anniversary celebration, the Doritos inducted two new leaders. The Water Vikings additionally returned to the community following a January lockdown. Meanwhile, the Templars dropped to Small/Medium status, the Dark Pirates engaged in a war against the Weeknds, and SWAT experienced a defacement amid internal leadership conflicts, leaving its future uncertain.
Toward the end of the month, ACP declared victory over TCP in the Winter Antioch Campaign, while the long-awaited clash between the Doritos and the Clovers finally took place. Following a major controversy, ACP force-treatied the Doritos, swiftly ending the war. The Mercenaries also officially returned to the community as the Dark Pirates announced a hiatus. The Rebel Penguin Federation declared war on the Scarlet Republic, a conflict that quickly ended with the Rebels force treating the Republic. Additionally, the Fire Vikings saw a revival, the Clovers launched war on The Bastille Vanguard, PIC defeated SWAT, and TBV lost its war to ACP and Aucraia as one of the army’s founding members returned to leadership. The announcement of March Madness X, the first major tournament of the year, capped off the month, alongside Club Penguin Army Judges celebrating three years of unification.
March
Words by: Pranav
As with every March, the month kicked off with the highly anticipated and often controversial March Madness tournament. In March Madness X, 14 armies competed for the ultimate title. Early in the month, leadership changes shook the community: Insegnami became a leader of the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, and Daniel joined the Army of Club Penguin leadership. Other notable changes included Villa stepping up as a leader in the People’s Imperial Confederation (PIC), JoelFreak stepping down from Doritos leadership, and Saber resigning from PIC leadership. Additional updates saw Amira take the helm of the Scarlet Republic, Versa retire from SWAT leadership, WilliamW2010 assume command of SWAT, and SavageCobra join Water Vikings at the end of March. The only major controversy involved 54x resigning amid various allegations.
March Madness itself unfolded with intensity, leading to the Final Fours, with the Grand Final scheduled in April. In the first round, five teams were eliminated: 9th seed People’s Imperial Confederation, 13th seed Smart Penguins, 12th seed Scarlet Republic, 10th seed Elite Guardians of CP, and 11th seed SWAT. The Elite Eight then saw the 8th seed Bastille Vanguard, 4th seed Aliens, 7th seed Templars, and 6th seed Water Vikings exit in closely contested battles. This left four armies: Doritos, Army of Club Penguin, Rebel Penguin Federation, and Help Force. In a tense Final Four, we saw the Help Force win against the Doritos in an intense matchup while the Rebel Penguin Federation won handily against the Army of Club Penguin.
Outside the tournament, several memorable moments highlighted the month. TheMightyA announced strict revival rules for the Golden Troops after a long hiatus. The Water Vikings regained major status, and the Help Force celebrated its 7th anniversary. Two practice battles featured the Water Vikings: one against Rebel Penguin Federation, ending in a 2-1-1 room breakdown victory for RPF, and one against the Templars, where the Water Vikings secured a 3-0 win. Additionally, the Doritos defeated both the Bastille Vanguard and the Scarlet Republic in a three-way practice battle. Positivity extended into April with two new alliances: Doritos partnering with SWAT, and Scarlet Republic teaming up with the Elite Guardians.
april
Words by: Pranav
April 1st kicked off with a flurry of pranks and surprises, including Mare being ousted from the Chief Executive Producer role and the Club Penguin Army Judges humorously declaring war on CPArmies itself. The day also saw a practice battle between the Doritos and the Templars, setting the stage for the Grand Finals of March Madness. In the finals, the Rebel Penguin Federation easily defeated the Help Force, securing first place, while HF took second, and the Doritos claimed third after defeating the Army of Club Penguin.
Leadership shifts continued throughout the month: Sheriff joined the Aliens, Echo joined the Templars, Beasto retired from Help Force, Raven stepped down from the Water Vikings, Lady Eden left EGCP, and Subzero departed from SWAT. After March Madness, CPArmies announced several major changes to its administration. The Executive Producer and Chief Executive Producer roles were merged, with affiliated Chief Executive Producers barred from voting or discussions related to their own army. The Executive Producer role now functions as an “Admin-in-Training,” observing discussions rather than actively participating. A strict three-offense rule was introduced to prevent interference or harassment of administrators. Edu14463 was promoted to Chief Executive Producer, Snork joined the administration, new servers were added to the land map, and three new columns – Lead the Way, Leaving a Legacy, and Penguin Puzzlers – were launched. Mare retired later in the month, closing a chapter of almost a year of dedicated service.
Practice battles continued throughout April, with the Templars defeating the Elite Guardians 1-0-2 (WLT) and the Aliens beating the Doritos 2-0-1. New groups made their presence known: the Penguins of Agartha introduced themselves and allied with the Scarlet Republic, while the Crimson Sovereign, initially allied with the Mercenaries, closed operations shortly after due to in-person commitments. In a major organizational shake-up, the People’s Imperial Confederation closed as Scars stepped down, 54x returned as leader, and Sidie9 finalized the 4th generation closure. This was followed by a Doritos war declaration on PIC on April 24th, though no battles occurred, leaving land open for DCP. The month ended on a positive note with the Silver Empire celebrating its 5th anniversary, offering a moment of pride and celebration to close April.
may
Words by: Fun X Time
May 2025 was a simple month for Club Penguin Armies, as armies gradually transitioned into the Summer. Club Penguin Armies presented the Around the World Cup II tournament, which was set to take place in May through early June. Amid the excitement, the Void Troops, who had entered the army community following the Doritos of Club Penguin scandal, forged an alliance with the Templars immediately. The Valiant Azure Knights and the Shadow Legionnaries also found their roots in early May.
Furthermore, Clade joined SWAT’s leadership, subsequently allying with the Fire Vikings. Soon after, the newfound VT declared war on the Special Weapons and Tactics. However, SWAT blundered by dropping all of their land, leaving them vulnerable to a force treaty. Around this time, VT held a practice battle with The Bastille Vanguard, ending in an overall tie with an overtime room. VT also organized a practice battle with the Scarlet Republic, where VT triumphed. Smart Penguins leader Zooy declared his army’s hiatus as he and the other leaders were occupied, and their staff team was not experienced enough. Meanwhile, VT continued to take to war, winning the Ecliptic Crusade War against the Penguins of Agartha.
On May 17, Doritos leader Aisha retired and became a DCP Legend. Her retirement event saw an enormous attendance of 92 penguins. Before this, BScharbach2 had already quietly retired from the same army, also inducting him as a DCP Legend to the army’s Hall of Fame. On the same day of Aisha’s retirement, Water Vikings leader Claire had also retired from her army. May 17 also saw the first match of the Around the World Cup tournament take place, following with a second match on the following day. VT and FV made their way out of the Qualifiers section of the tournament. On May 27, the Army of Club Penguin faced off against VT, while DCP battled the Templars. The next day, FV took on the Water Vikings, and the Aliens faced off against SR.
JUNE
Words by: Jojo Teri
Throughout June, several great events took place. June began with multiple leadership changes among several armies. First of all, the Doritos has had back-to-back leadership changes, with Kira retiring, Bscharbach returning to lead, and Megha and Yoni joining him, with the latter retiring shortly after. The next change was in the Void Troops, with Justin returning to the army on June 6, about a month after he had left it. His tenure lasted for a week, when he decided to deface the server due to disagreements. Before his leave, the war between VT and DCP ended in a VT victory after they occupied the capital, Summit. After the deface, Ugly joined the army’s leadership to help rebuild it and save it from death. On the same day, Escot became a Viking Commander, also achieving the Greatest Viking status.
On June 7, the Around the World Cup II Finals took place. In that, the Scarlet Republic faced the Templars in the SM section, with the latter ones winning in overtime. In the major division, the Aliens faced the Army of Club Penguin, with the first ones winning in the overtime room. During June, there were also several armies returning. The first one was the Romans on June 8, creating alliances with POA and VT as soon as they were revived. Next, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin came back after one and a one-and-a-half-month hiatus, under Kazoo‘s and Lana‘s leadership. The last army was the Star Force. An army created by the former SWAT leader Fun X Time, originally consisted of SWAT members who had left the army. The army made quick moves upon entering, as it created an alliance with the Aliens on June 24. More leadership changes, with POA gaining a new leader, Mr Potato, on June 14. Additionally, in TCP, Billy Bawb retired from the army with SirNick returning in his place 6 days later. At the same time, the army declared war against the Fire Vikings, who had just lost their leader, Zuj0t. Zuj0t had just stepped down from his position 3 days earlier.
On June 16, Coolguy retired from the CPA Administration after serving in it for over a year. Just 5 days later, the CPA Golden Age was announced, with Snork stepping down and Jojo Teri getting promoted. On June 22, an interesting incident takes place. The Valiant Azure Knights merged into the yet to open, at the time, Dark Warriors. On June 27, Club Penguin Armies announced the Summer Olympics. They were a unique type of Olympics with armies competing against each other on a map board.
july
Words by: MtJordan II
July 2025 had begun, and with it came judgments that would shape reputations and impact army politics. On July 3, Djgtjvgyhxgy, a long-time army veteran famed for his association with the Color Wars and for establishing the structural foundation of the Romans, resigned. While he did not state any specific explanation for his resignation, the Romans’ advisory council stated that it arose from tension and arguments about leadership, power, and administration within the army. A fresh new army burst onto the scene in the army world: the Portal Hoppers, founded by Dbsa and Zay, with Judy quickly springing into leadership action. The Boxmen of Boxland officially entered Club Penguin Armies, led by Pingo, a notable community member, and reached a total of 11 troops during their opening event. The Void Troops emerged victorious over the Shadow Legionaries before turning their attention to the Bastille Vanguard, formally declaring war shortly after.
On July 5, SirNick, a prominent veteran of the Templars, re-established contact with the Templarian leadership. Having originally led the army in 2021, he had since gone missing in action, remaining a spectator of the community. The Doritos of Club Penguin unsurprisingly surrendered to the Templars in a war declared due to toxic behavior within Doritos’ leadership and past issues, conceding all of their land and marking a historic defeat. A historic yet infamous army rose from the ashes: the Dark Warriors, created by the legendary Ambrosha, renowned for winning numerous tournament titles during the Old Club Penguin Era. In the new founding iteration, it was led by a trio of leaders, Holo2, Subzero, and Coolguy, who were all prominently known in the community. The Elite Guardians of Club Penguin oversaw the foundation of the Army Retribution Alliance, which brought together various Small/Medium armies, including EGCP, Special Weapons and Tactics, Penguins of Agartha, Fire Vikings, Shadow Legionnaires, and The Bastille Vanguard. Initial conversations had begun between PoA, SWAT, and TBV before being expanded to include the other members. The alliance was formed to foster unity, cooperation, and mutual assistance in the S/M community. Its long-term impact was uncertain, but the announcement sparked widespread curiosity in the community. Mercenaries, an army created by Midnight, declared a merger with the Dark Warriors after struggling to sustain regular engagement and host events, limiting their impact within the community.
From July 6 to July 27, alliances, inductions, and battles shaped the army world. Star Force and the Aliens strengthened relations by officializing an alliance led by Fun X Time and Bestpenguin. Justin (formerly known as Kyle104) made his debut in the Dark Warriors, joining the trilogy leadership, while the Boxmen of Boxland declared war on the Rebel Penguin Federation but were forced to surrender a day later. T_T was promoted to Deputy Head Judge (Head Judge in-Training) for illustrating marvelous performance in judging more than 150 battles and previously winning the 2024 Winter Awards Best Judge category. Antman was inducted as the fourth leader of the Void Troops, announced by co-leader Ugly. Despite opening earlier in the month, the Boxmen of Boxland quickly closed after a brief run that included a 13th-place Top Ten debut, an alliance with several armies, and an unexpected war declaration. Versa joined the Doritos to revitalize the army, while Zay of PHCP stepped down, and Sua joined Dbsa and Judy in leadership following the army’s quick ascent to the top ten. YellowTyper passed Fire Vikings leadership to Zuj0t, and Jojo Teri resigned as Head Judge of CPAJ to focus on CPA advancement. The Doritos officially shut down, Portal Hoppers were defeated by the Shadow Legionnaires in a two-room practice combat, and the Casino-themed Legends Cup XV quarterfinals were held with the Water Vikings, Rebel Penguin Federation, Aliens, and Help Force advancing to the semifinals. This served as the final major event of July, concluding a month of leadership changes, new army foundations, strategic alliances, and historic closures.
august
Words by: Jojo Teri
August also saw revivals and new armies. On August 5, the Red Ravagers returned to the community by Nefenom for a week. Following that, on August 17, a new meme army was created, named the Shreks of Club Penguin. The army was created by Viv and led by Satchmo, Regan and Sanya. Like July there were many leadership changes taking place. The first one was the departure of Holo2 from DW, with Midnight and Salah joining the leadership. On August 13, Dawnables returned to the Templars leadership silently. This return came after the Templars lost the Divine Reckoning war against the Void Troops. Around the end of the month, on August 29, Billy Bawb was removed from his position as a Templars leader, with the leadership stating inactivity issues behind the removal. This month was rough for the army, as it also became a Small Medium army once again.
On August 17, Annie stepped down from the Scarlet Republic and was inducted as an SR legend. On August 29, Monstah retired from his position as a Romans leader. The following day, a new triarchy was formed, with Scars, Villa and Sweater returning to lead PIC in place of the previous leadership. Apart from the VT vs TCP war, August included two more. The first one was between ACP and Aliens. It started on August 11 and was named Operation 51. The Aliens won the war with a score of 16-1-0 in their favor. The other war, titled as Multilog Mayhem, started on August 25 and included a battle was between TCP and the Water Vikings. WV managed to win the battle and the war.
This month also saw 2 shutdowns. The first was PHCP’s shutdown on August 4, in an attempt by creator Dbsa to seek for more leadership experience in other armies. The second shutdown was by the Blizzard Battalion on August 19. The army had been in a hiatus with its leader Crazyflame announcing the final shutdown. The army had earlier created an alliance with TBV. Another alliance was made between the Aliens and the Scarlet republic, which was labeled as a friendship declaration. The Help Force and the Void Troops also saw an alliance being born between them, on August 16.
On the fourth day of August, the CPA Census 2025 was announced. It contained similar questions to the ones of 2023, with two extra ones, so that there could be an accurate comparison. On August 9, the Grand Finals of the Legends Cup XV took place between the Aliens and the Rebel Penguin Federation. RPF managed to emerge victorious from the battle with a 2-0-1 score. On August 10, Club Penguin Armies announced a map tournament for the Small/Medium armies, called Summer Blitz. It took place throughout August with similar rules to the ones of Project Conquest: Blood Bowl, but without their issues. The Dark Warriors managed to have the most land at the end of the tournament. Later during the month, on August 19, the Mapping the Map CPA Summit began. It was an open summit in which community members could share their opinions and vote based on them. It was split in 5 sessions, with each of them dedicated to revoting the map rules. There was also a special board created for it, voting on the discussed matters, being able to make changes on the map rules, which can be found here.
september
Words by: Mz
Throughout the course of September, there have been quite a few movements within the community. With wars, unexpected turns of events, and celebrations taking their places. The beginning of the month was marked by Water Vikings declaring and triumphantly winning a war with Templars, under the operation “Invasion of Puddle.” While TCP had yet to recover from their previous war and announcement of Dawnables’ retirement.
Meanwhile, Shadow Legionnaires had some new changes as Lemon stepped up for promising leadership with a quick rise. An unexpected heat was also built between Void troops and Dark Warriors as VT declared war under some accusations. On September 2, the Great Massacre War began. VT won in terms of DW surrendering after ghosting all battles. Some days later, The Bastille Vanguard left behind its rebellious nature, announcing its shutdown, with troops returning to EGCP. Following that, the Vikings experienced sweeping changes following Cobra’s retirement announcement. Filling in his steps, Mato rises to Viking Commander during the army’s Hall of Fame Ceremony. Additionally, on September 18, the wii phone army, created by Lort533, opened its doors for the first time to the public.
As the month kept on progressing, so did changes in armies, with Romans’ Sua stepping down from leadership and Toxicstorm taking it on. And so comes the word of Ugly retiring from VT leadership, passing down as Void Troops’ first legend. On the other hand, the Romans declared war on SWAT and emerged victorious with a war score 7-0-2 in favor of the Romans. Rebel Penguin Federation also found itself at war with The White Order alliance on September 17, arguably the most controversial moment of the year, as the Rebels were immersed in scandals. TWO was mainly comprised of S/M armies, such as VT, SL, SR, EGCP, POA, Romans, and PIC. Surprisingly, RPF emerged victorious at the end with a war score of 9-0 in their favor, issuing a force-treaty to the whole alliance.
As the month came closer to ending, much more had unfolded with Aliens cutting its ties with RPF, due to the recent controversies. A hope returns as Lass rejoins EGCP leadership, ready to lead after being away from the army for roughly a year. At the very end of the month, Shadow Legionnaires takes a break as announced by Thunder222 on September 30, for the purpose of focusing on real-life situations. An enthralling practice battle had also taken place between Water Vikings and Aliens, with an astonishingly close battle; WV emerged victorious. No doubt this month had its moments to be remembered. Though there were some controversies, there were also exciting comebacks and celebrations marking September’s end.

november
Words by: Lucifer
As the coziness of November graced this community, there have been numerous events, ranging from wars to retirements to tournaments. Starting off, it was on November 8, when Lydia had been promoted to Water Vikings Commander, who was famously known for leading the Underground Mafias Army. However, she also served in various armies such as Doritos and Ice Warriors. She is a force to be reckoned with while she leads WV with dreams and the potential to be a leader.
Secondly, Army of Club Penguin and Water Vikings cohosted the Ragnarök Olympics on the same day, November 8, with the end result being ACP winning with a score of 9-1-4. Concurrently, Alucard joins the People’s Imperial Confederation’s leadership alongside Scars, Villa, and Armenzia after an unbanning from Club Penguin Army Battleground. Further on, Void Troops declared war on Templars on November 15. The “Second Divine Reckoning War” initiated when TCP denied VT’s trade for Ascent. Soon after, PIC aided TCP, while the Romans and the Dark Warriors sided with VT. VT and its alliance had been victorious, and later on, they enforced a nine-term force treaty.
Moreover, Club Penguin Armies published the long-awaited announcement of Christmas Chaos XV on November 29, when they revealed the Rules and Qualifiers information for the tournament, bringing back the single elimination format with a new twist: the Small/Medium army that advanced the furthest would also earn a trophy. There was also an announcement on November 24, introducing three new columns to promote more engagement with the community: CPA Conspiracy Theories, What If, and HCOM Life Stories. This highlighted a new start to the Reporting Department and encouraged new writers and old alike to continue writing.
december

The end of the year was packed with activity across the CPA community. Across the month, several battles of CCXV took place. With three SM armies being eliminated in the same round, a three-way finals battle between the Dark Warriors, TCP, and the Romans was scheduled for January 3. That same day, the Aliens and the Rebel Penguin Federation will clash in the Grand Finals in an LC XV rematch. Members were also able to place bets on matches and earn coins, just like during the Legends Cup XV.
December opened with the release of the second CPA 2025 Quality Check on December 1, giving another look at the state of the organization. A week later, the Media Department celebrated two promotions, with VESTA becoming Managing Editor and Fun X Time earning a promotion to Associate Editor for his creativity and dedication.
The holiday spirit quickly took over the community. On December 10, members decorated the CPA Christmas tree by submitting ornaments and helped create the 2025 CPA Christmas playlist by sharing their favorite songs. Alongside this, the Road to Christmas column ran throughout December, featuring daily history, challenges, and fun facts.
The Iceberg Jubilee later brought the community together once again, with nominations, voting, and a live results presentation on December 28. Around the same time, the Legends Community Vote wrapped up, with BP being the only nominee to receive enough approval to earn a bonus vote. The year concluded strongly for CPA, which ended the month with 120 posts released.
