On October 7, the community witnessed the return of an army thought to be long gone. The Thunder Troops recently revived, and today we will evaluate how this happened.

A Stormy Start

A relatively unknown army, the Thunder Troops were founded in 2011 by Jack. Although very little is known about the army, their first event was the Invasion of Flippers, on April 10, 2011, against the Global Defenders. From here, the Troops went on to acquire more land, as well as competing in the Tourney of the Globes.

Following this, TT continued until June of 2011, where they announced a temporary closure due to inactivity plaguing the army. A return of the army was teased in July, however it never came to be. The last post on their site was made in November of 2011, from former Void Troops leader Antman.

Lightning strikes twice

In recent days, the Troops have made their triumphant return. Hosting their opening event on October 7, with a max of 8, they proceeded to register with Club Penguin Armies. Being led by familiar faces to the army scene such as Turtel, AB, xdemon, and Tiny Guy, the army is in good hands.

Although originally believing they had created a new army, the four soon learned of the army’s history. Thankfully due to the good will and kind-heartedness of former Commander Antman, the revival was permitted.

Why decide to specifically revive an army as old as the Thunder Troops?

When I heard my friends were making an army, I decided I’d lend a hand and help get everything set up since they were more new to cpa in general, xdemon joining us was a pleasant surprise. When we made the name, it was originally called “Lightning Troops” but under review we thought people might get mad about that (Light Troops) and thought we might get denied from the league because of that too. And that is how Thunder Troops sparked back to life (Get it.. sparked? thunder?)

How did you come around to get revival permission for Thunder Troops?

Well at the time we actually didn’t know that it was an older army. When we registered, around 30 minutes later antman came to our save with giving us revival permission through him LOL we ❤️ stinkman

To bring Thunder Troops to greatness (or back to greatness) and make sure everyone has fun along the way

Clearly the revival of this historic army will have a lasting impact on the community. Surely this new generation of the Troops will achieve great things. But what do you think of this revival? Will the new leaders succeed, or will this army sink? Could we a potential war emerge?
