March has been a quieter month, compared to February. Let us take a look at which moments made the list to be deemed as the top five moments for this month.
As it is done every month, the Club Penguin Armies staff team came together and hosted an internal vote for what we believed to be the “Top Five Moments” of March 2024. This includes moments that have resulted in a significant impact on the community as a whole.
5T. People’s Imperial Confederation Becomes Major

On March 10th, the People’s Imperial Confederation were able to achieve major army status after three weeks of obtaining a size average of 20+. For many, this came as a surprise but for PIC, this was what they had aimed for. They are a renowned small/medium army that has been a force within the community for years. Their recent rise came from their exploration of Club Penguin Journey which allowed them to gather maxes of 26, gaining new recruits along the way. As a result of their hard work, they also placed fourth in the Top Ten Armies list at the beginning of March. What does the future have in store for the Confederation?

5T. Mei Inducted as Viking Commander

March was a month full of hype and surprises for the Water Vikings. One of the surprises that they had in store was the promotion of one of their loyal and dedicated High-Commanding members, Mei. She was promoted on March 2nd, creating a quadrumvirate leadership. Mei had an extraordinary rise in the army, joining just less than one year prior to her promotion to leader, on March 10th, 2023. Since joining, she has witnessed the army make history from participating in World War IX to helping them win the Christmas Chaos tournament. Only time will tell whether or not her leadership will be successful. However, her monumental rise shows that she has already made a massive impact within the army.

4. April Ambush: People’s Imperial Confederation Declares War on Penguins Of Madagascar

As March neared an end, the army community witnessed a declaration of war from the People’s Imperial Confederation on the Penguins of Madagascar. In hopes of improving their strength on the Battleground, the war titled ‘April Ambush’, aimed to be a one-on-one conflict between the two armies, without any external influence or support. Similar to the Wojna Prestiżowa initiated against the Winged Hussars, the Confederates’ objective in this war was to establish a friendly and healthy competition amongst the S/M armies in the community, and enhance their performance through constant battles and warfare.

3. Coolguy Awarded Silver Medal Award By Army of Club Penguin

After leading Special Weapons and Tactics for three years, Coolguy would go on to join the Army of Club Penguin, eventually becoming a leader of the army in just two months. Under his leadership, the Clovers not only dominated the Top Tens, a total of sixteen times but also went on to win three tournaments – Legends Cup XIII in August and Trick or Treat Trials in November last year, followed by the New Year Bonanza at the beginning of this year. His contribution to the army has been immense, and given his hard work and extreme dedication towards the Clovers, Coolguy was awarded the Silver Medal on the 11th of March.

2. March Madness IX commences

A tournament that is known for its controversy and altercations, Club Penguin Armies hosted the ninth rendition of March Madness this year. To make things a little different this time around, the tournament was initially supposed to go forward with a double-elimination format. However, after a vote from the Army Board, the majority were in favor of a single elimination style, and hence, the idea of double elimination did not feature in, in this version. Eight armies signed up to partake in March Madness IX, therefore, starting directly with the quarter-final round (Elite Eight) on March 9th and continuing for the next three weeks.

1. Water Vikings Emerges Victorious In March Madness IX; Rebel Penguin Federation Becomes Runners-Up

With March Madness commencing on March 9th in a single elimination format, eight armies participated in this year’s rendition of it. After rounds featuring some intense battles, the Water Vikings and the Rebel Penguin Federation made it to the Grand Final that took place on March 24th. This was an extremely close battle, and both armies put up a great fight during it. Ultimately, it was the Water Vikings who emerged victorious, obtaining the title of Champions of March Madness IX, with the Rebel Penguin Federation securing the second place in the tournament.
