Initiate Operation Sunrise: Fire Vikings Declare War on Shadow Legionnaires

Two days ago, on October 26, the Fire Vikings declared war on their long-time rivals, the Shadow Legionnaires. This comes only days after the pair faced off in the October Horrors II Small/Medium finals.

Background

Both the Shadow Legionnaires and the Fire Vikings are relatively new armies in the community. The former was founded on May 3, 2025, whilst the Vikings are slightly older, being founded on November 16, 2024. Throughout their histories, they have cemented themselves as formidable faces in the Small/Medium army scene. Both armies have engaged in several wars, but notably never against each other. Despite this, something of a rivalry has emerged between the two, as they are widely regarded as the two top S/M armies.

These armies most notably engaged in a war with one another earlier this year. On April 10, 2026, Shadow Legionnaires leader Thunder222 began Operation: No Fireplace. Citing FV’s troop stealing from the recently closed Dark Pirates as a reason for declaring war, as well as the actions of Cyber. This war was seemingly escalating, with the Abyssal Tides entering to help the Vikings. However, both sides eventually came to a truce, following mishandlings on the part of Club Penguin Army Judges.

Over the past weekend, we saw the October Horrors II tournament take place. Notably, the Shadow Legionnaires and Fire Vikings held the top seeds for the S/M bracket, and this resulted in them facing off in the finals. Whilst both armies showed excellent effort, ultimately it was the Fire Vikings who emerged victorious. However, it is incredibly important to note that going into the tournament, the SL were only back from a brief hiatus.

Escalation of conflict

Following the Vikings’ triumph in the OH II tournament, they decided to take things a step further with a war declaration. FV leader Yellow Typer stated that they wanted to reclaim the land the Legionnaires had taken from them. He also noted Thunder’s unsportsmanlike behaviour, as he banned Typer from SL’s Discord after FV’s victory in OH II. Former SL leader and current advisor, GreenVege replied to Typer’s post, reviving mentions of his prior multilogging. Vege went on to address how the Vikings allow zuj0t into their ranks, who allegedly aided in SL’s defacement. As of yet, the war score stands at 1-0-0 in favour of the Vikings. This battle was very notable, as it was a 3-0 sweep for FV, possibly hinting at results.

To find out more about the conflict, Club Penguin Armies contacted FV leader Yellow Typer for an exclusive interview.

You recently bested the Shadow Legionnaires in the S/M division of October Horrors II. After this victory, why did you declare war?

We tried to ask them for land but they didn’t gib any land THEY HAVE 28 PIECES OF LAND

Had SL cooperated and given you land, do you think this relationship could have escalated in a different way? Would an alliance have been possible?

I mean most def would NEVER ally with SL while thunder still has power there. Maybe we would have not gone to war if they had cooperated with us though

So this war you have engaged in, is it more for expansionism on the map, or a vendetta against SL, and in particular Thunder?

Understandable. You seem to be rather confident in your success; would you say this is an evenly matched conflict in any form?

Hopefully they don’t bore me like they did in the OH finals . SL is like irrelevant these days and get mad at the littlest things ever. FEAR THESE MF FLAMES

Following your recent loss to FV in the S/M division of October Horrors II, did you expect this war declaration? Has there been previous bad blood between the two armies?

It was expected, FV has been waiting to war us ever since we took their lands haha. Yes, SL and FV have been enemies ever since we launched Operation: No Fireplace.

How do you feel this war will escalate? Who do you predict the victor to be?

There is nothing to escalate, the stakes are high already. SL will rise up and win, there won’t be a clear sweep, cuz SL already lost a battle today, and the score won’t be closer as well it’s going to smth in b/w and SL is going to win ofc!!!!

Despite your loss earlier today, are you confident that SL can bounce back? What are the Legionnaires planning internally to aid their war efforts?

yes 100%, I trust my ausia people, we are going to win this battle and we have made that clear, we hosted training events and and we are creating hype to build up that war energy. We also have some plans, you’ll be seeing them soon

That’s great that you have such confidence; however, many in the community are writing off the Legionnaires following the recent tournament result and today’s battle result. Is there anything you have to say to those who doubt you?

To conclude, it is evident that both sides are confident in their victory; however, following the recent tournament result, both armies have a lot to prove. It is impossible to predict what will happen next, as both sides are viciously preparing for the conflict, and we can only hope for a good war. But what do you think will happen?
