The Masked Bandits have finally met their end more than a month after their opening. In this post, we will explore the events that led up to the closure and understand the scenario the army community has found itself in. Here is everything you need to know about the most recent controversy.

On September 18, 2026, Masked Bandits leader Justin announced the merger of his army into the Fire Warriors. This development comes soon after MB co-founder Sweater‘s banishment from the army community, and the rise of the controversy surrounding him. Before the merger, MB’s Operation: Shik against the Shadow Legionnaires had already ended on September 17. The Bandits were last seen on the battlefield for their battle against SL the day before, when they acquired a size of 6 penguins online. It is worth noting that MB established an alliance with FW earlier on August 6.

In the declaration of the merger, Justin encouraged all troops to join forces with the Fire Warriors and gave his final token of appreciation to the members. He added that staff positions and other formalities will be looked into shortly after members enter. Only ten minutes before the merger, FW leader AustinFraud announced long-time army veteran Coolguy as the newest Commander-in-Chief of the Warriors. Subsequently, Coolguy presented the army’s views on the merger and the recent MB situation.

Before rejoining the leadership of Fire Warriors, I saw two armies in very similar positions. I won’t go into detail, as I’ll be all day. However, I believe that both had pieces of a puzzle but lacked many of the pieces they needed. For example, you may lack a team to train people with great potential or vice versa. I believe that they had different pieces of a puzzle but they were headed down a similar path in some ways. Ultimately, upon joining, I wanted to secure the future. I saw the opportunity to secure the future for everyone involved in those two armies by uniting them under one roof, aiming for a single goal and creating yet another major change in the community together. What happened while these conversations were taking place was awful but they did not involve 98-% of MB. The plans went ahead to create a better future for everyone involved and we hope to create a competitive army in FW, aiming for much bigger goals than ever before. Together, alongside the likes of Austin and Justin, both of whom ive led alongside before, we can lead another army to great successes.
The Recent Past
Since MB’s opening on August 2 this year, the army community has been buzzing with different kinds of news. Upon its opening, the army partook in the CPA20 Challengers Cup tournament and triumphed in the Grand Final battle against the Shadow Legionnaires. During the battle, MB managed to win 2 rooms, while 1 was tied. However, this would not be the last time the two armies would cross paths.

Since their triumph, the Masked Bandits cultivated some reputation in the army community, with some individuals switching their affiliation to MB. On August 6, the Bandits fostered an alliance with the Fire Warriors. On August 29, MB co-founder Sweater was removed from his position at Club Penguin Army Judges following his conduct in the community. He soon quit the Bandits and left the Discord server’s ownership to MB advisor Rye Bread. This departure meant his complete retirement from armies, finally terminating his 13-year army career.

After Sweater’s departure, the Bandits continued its operations. On August 31, the army waged war against the Pizzaioli of Club Penguin, aiming for their land. This map-based campaign was titled Operation: Pizza Heist, which MB leader Justin led. For some time, the war remained insignificant, as the multilogging scandal surrounding the Templars became the community’s buzz.

On September 16, MB entered into a peace treaty with the Pizzaioli, terminating Operation: Pizza Heist. The army returned most of the invaded Pizzaioli land. The next day, the Shadow Legionnaires launched Operation: Shik against the Bandits. On September 17, the community learned of Sweater’s growing misconduct. Sweater doxxed SL leader Thunder222, causing Operation: Shik to immediately conclude in SL’s favor. The victors enforced a force treaty titled the Treaty of SubZero of the 1st Shadow-Bandits War (Operation: Shik), and the Legionnaires acquired all of MB’s land. The next day, the day of the merger finally arrived.

really his consequences was he stooped way to low of being a troll, how can you troll someone so hard quit armies and make abelist comments and then you get mad when i mention your personal life being effected of what youre doing alongside some jokes thats all i want to say about this situation since this has already been resolved

It appears that another rising small/medium army has met its end. The army community has noted an upsurge in small/medium army creation this year, and some onlookers believed the Bandits to be promising. The events leading up to the sudden closure of MB have created an imprint on the army’s name. Do you believe the Masked Bandits will ever return, perhaps under a different brand?
