THE INCIDENT and shpec’s announcement
On August 29, an unexpected announcement emerged in the Club Penguin Army Judges server regarding Deputy Head Judge Sweater. Shpec, one of the Head Judges, announced that he had dismissed Sweater from his position and removed him from the CPAJ team, effective immediately. The decision followed recent concerns about Sweater’s conduct within the community. The Head Judges reviewed the situation and spoke with Sweater before determining that, although they understood some aspects of his behavior based on the perspective he had shared, much of his conduct did not align with CPAJ’s values, standards, or expectations for its judging team.
The circumstance had caught the crew off guard, especially since Sweater’s work ethic and activity had previously been exceptional. He had contributed to several tournaments and made substantial contributions to the organization, which the team really appreciated. Following their conversations, the Head Judges decided to part ways with him, claiming that their goal was to keep a judging team that the community could rely on while still providing a safe, polite, and supportive workplace.

SWEATER’S HISTORY and retirement
Sweater began his army career with the Ice Warriors in 2013 before Ganger90 recruited him into Special Weapons and Tactics. He also joined the Dark Warriors in May 2013, serving as a staff member before briefly quitting the group. He returned with the Takis in 2015, then rejoined SWAT as a staff member before taking up leadership of the Shadow Recons. Sweater, together with Zuke, SCargo2, and Jaylen, helped resuscitate SWAT in 2020, with the army reaching a peak of roughly 60-70 members before closing. Despite his brief leadership stint, he returned to the army multiple times and eventually led the Fire Warriors to victory in the Challenger Cups II finals.
After the Fire Warriors disbanded in September 2021, Sweater joined the Penguins of Madagascar before making several brief returns to SWAT, eventually reclaiming his leadership position. In June 2023, he joined the People’s Imperial Confederation as a Congress member before becoming its leader in August, leaving SWAT to concentrate on PIC. Under his leadership, the Confederation won Beach Brawl II, fought in Christmas Crusade II against the Elite Guardians, and advanced from S/M to Major Army level. Sweater stepped down from PIC leadership in March 2024 to pursue his profession and relationships outside of the army. He returned to CPAJ as a Judge in April 2026, where he presided over multiple battles before receiving a promotion to Head Judge alongside Moon on May 15. After Shpec announced his removal from CPAJ following conduct concerns, after which Sweater gave his final farewell.

After the incident, he decided to quit from Masked Bandits and retire completely from armies. In MB, announcement was sent about his retirement of armies and later on he apologised publicly and transferred the server to Rye Bread, their advisor. After all, he left the army and all CPA servers.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to CPAJ Head Judges and Sweater to gain further insight into the situation. However, Sweater respectfully declined to comment or respond to the questions, and therefore was not included in the interview.

How did Sweater perform in his role as a Deputy Head Judge?
Sweater was great as a Deputy HJ. He took point on many of the recent activities, including tournaments, and hiring new jits. We were prepared to promote both him and Moon very soon.
Do you believe the reason for his removal is justified?
Yes. His initial actions were understandable given what we have been told set him off. But he took it too far in our opinion and didn’t act in a manner that aligned with our values.
