As April began, the People’s Imperial Confederation experienced a change in their status, being reclassified to a Small/Medium army. After receiving the Major standing only last month, this has come as an unexpected occurrence to the community.
On the 1st of April, the People’s Imperial Confederation was categorized once again as a Small/Medium army after not being able to meet the criteria of having an average size score of 20+ for 3 consecutive weeks. Becoming a Major army, just three weeks back, this happening is certainly a testament to what time can do, and in the Confederates’ case, unfortunately, has taken a turn for a sudden decline. However, this in no way seems to pull down the army, as the army is not only recuperating from this setback but is actively engaged in a war currently against the Penguins of Madagascar, and so far, has won all the battles.
Founded by Sidie9 and Sirproditor on October 17th, 2019, the People’s Imperial Confederation has always been considered a resilient and persistent group within the army community. Going through several generations, the army has been a part of multiple significant wars, most recently, during World War IX as one of the members of the Sapphire Concordat and during the Christmas Crusade, as one of the representatives of the United Front Alliance and apart from this, has also initiated wars of their own, recent examples of which include Wojna Prestiżowa against the Winged Hussars and April Ambush against the Penguins of Madagascar. After the army’s revival in February last year, the Confederates have also partaken in a number of tournaments and community events, securing a few victories along the way with their incredible performance at the Beach Brawl III in August 2023 and New Year Bonanza this year in January. Last month, the army witnessed an increase in size, going on to receive the fourth rank in the Top Ten list and while this reclassification may be seen as a lapse, over the course of four years, the People’s Imperial Confederation has been able to make a mark for themselves, and, is recognized as one of the dominant armies in the community today.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Shallissa, one of the current leaders of the army, to know more about her thoughts on this reclassification, and what the army’s plans are moving forward.
What are your thoughts on this reclassification?
I’m honestly just really happy we achieved Major status. PIC has always been comfortable with our S/M identity so there was never a huge rush to get to Major, however, at the beginning of the year, we decided it was time to push further. It only took a few weeks of hard work and we had achieved our goal, so more than anything I’m impressed with our team and our hard work.
In your opinion, what was the reason behind this?
We knew from the beginning that achieving Major status was the easy part, and that keeping it would come with a new set of challenges. We knew before we even became Major that a war with POM was imminent, so over the past few weeks we have been focusing more on CPAB events. Our entire high command team was in agreement that proving ourselves on CPAB was worth more than a Major classification. So we have been putting more of our effort into growing our CPAB size rather than preserving Major army status.
Being classified as Major before this, does this motivate you all in any way to get back to that status?
We are definitely motivated to get there again eventually. Now that we know we are capable of it and the steps we can take to get there, it seems less daunting and intimidating than before. For now, though we are hoping to continue to boost our Battleground sizes and finish crushing POM in our war.
What are the army’s plans moving forward and how do you all wish to improve, if in any way?
I definitely sense another S/M tournament win in our future, so we will be working towards that over these next few months. There are for sure more wars on the horizon, as so far this year we’ve proven ourselves to be an unstoppable force within the S/M community. Most of all though our plan is to grow and keep our army in tip-top shape, so we are well prepared for the new map and any surprise conflict that may come our way.
What can we expect to see from the army in the near future?
As I said earlier: wars, wars and MORE wars. We plan to put a big dent in both the S/M and Major community this year, and PIC is proving to be well equipped to do it all. PIC has been killing it in all three timezones during April Ambush, and we have the endurance to sustain size in long term wars. As our sizes eventually grow back to Major, we’ll be in an even better position. For now though, enjoy our destruction of the Penguins of Madagascar.
While achieving a Major status is no joke, Shallissa takes pride in the Small/Medium identity of her army and is confident that they will be able to become a Major army once again in the near future. We wish her and the People’s Imperial Confederation the very best in all of their future endeavors and look forward to all that they have planned.
