This drastic move reignites tensions that have defined both armies for years. In the most recent major chapter of their vendetta, the Sluttpådawn War, the Templars came out victorious.

The latest seasonal Top Ten showed the Templars placing above the Water Vikings by over 20 points, while holding a size average gap of more than ten. However, both armies were able to reach sizes of approximately 40 penguins in the last week. This recent change effectively tightened the performance gap between the two. This trend has remained consistent over the past few seasons. As such, the declaration signals a confident move from the Templars, who enter this conflict with the statistical edge. The Vikings, however, defeated the Templars in a direct matchup last year. Similarly, this came during comparable competitive trends, suggesting that despite the statistical edge, the outcome of this war remains far from certain.
