The Army Board Deliberations: April 2026

The community decides to change its gameplay rules every now and then. Today is one of those days, with the Army Board deciding to revote on some of the map rules, specifically the 1 versus 1, and the force treaties fun terms.

Introduction

The Army Board consists of representatives from all active armies who have held events for four consecutive weeks, excluding colonies, proxies and meme armies. The Board currently includes representatives from 10 armies. A meeting with the Board can take place either if the Administration calls it, or if a Representative requests it from the Administration. After the meeting, a poll can be conducted to officially ratify the decisions, if needed.

the Meeting

And that is what happened this time. Two Board members requested a meeting, and the Administration scheduled it. The meeting did happen a few days ago, and some polls emerged from it to ratify the decisions. The voting period ended this morning, so now it is time to present what was voted on.

The Board members requested a discussion about the 1vs1 war term and the fun terms on force treaties. You can find some more info about the 1vs1 war term here , as well as some of its issues in the past, but the most important details will be mentioned here, too.

Presenting the Voted Terms

1 verus 1 term

Beginning from the 1 versus 1 war term, it has been a term that has sparked many discussions on whether it should be allowed or not. In the organisation’s timeline, it was removed initially by late 2022, before being added again a few months later. Much time later, during the Mapping the Map summit about the map rules, it was removed again. At that time, 10 reps had voted in favor of the removal and 4 against, while the community member vote also followed a similar format, with 40 in favor and 10 against.

Explaining the Rule

When the term was invoked in a war declaration, no other armies were allowed to declare war on either of the participants. This basically meant that the two armies were locked out of outside wars and remained in their own “bubble”. At this point, it should be mentioned that the rule was only enforced on wars taking place on the map. Along with that term, there was another one. The extra term prohibited a specific group, based on the wording, from attending the battles. Usually, that was the dual enlisted people, visitors, and allies. This means that someone who was enlisted in the army and advising another was not able to attend.

Force Treaties Fun Terms

The “fun terms” in force treaties consisted of irregular terms. They did not necessarily affect an army’s ability to declare war on a specific army, like the Non-Agression Pact terms, nor was it necessarily forced to release its land. Instead, it focused on actions the losing army had to take. Usually, the losing army had to make an announcement accepting that they were the losing army and that the enemy army was superior. Sometimes, the terms were extended to other areas, too, and forced an army to host some events with a specific uniform or perform a specific tactic. This was another change that was brought through the summit.

The Results and the Effective Changes

The Army Board voted to fully remove the fun terms from the force treaties and bring back the 1vs1 term, depending on the army’s classification. Upon this post being made public, the following will take effect.

Effective Changes

  • Fun Terms on Force Treaties ➡️ No longer enforced. An army can add them, but the league will not enforce them. Meaning armies can just choose not to follow them.
  • 1 vs 1 war term ➡️ Small/Medium armies are able to freely invoke the term in their declarations. Major armies can only use it when declaring to other Major armies. This means that a Major army cannot declare a 1 vs. 1 war against an SM one.
  • During a 1 vs 1 war, the outside involvement rule is reworked. This is done to ensure fairness in wars and avoid loopholes and messy situations.
🔁 When a war is a 1vs1, allies and visitors are automatically not allowed, even if they are veterans. This can’t be changed. Dual-enlisted people can be allowed or not, depending on the declaration. If they are not mentioned at all in the declaration, then they won’t be allowed either. People who are not part of an army can attend for either, but they are not allowed to switch sides. Affiliations count at the time of the declaration and onwards. If someone switches armies after the declaration has been issued, aiming to attend, they will not be allowed to. Reminder that the Advisor ranks count as enlisted ranks.
  • These changes will not be applied to any ongoing wars.

What do you think of this decision? Will it bring more war or end up making the map more stagnant? Is it a step towards the right direction or the exact opposite?
