The Coup Crusaders’ second generation comes to an end as the army decides to merge with the Army of Club Penguin. After opening their doors in October last year, the army has had an eventful journey, however, it is certainly disheartening to see them pull out this soon.
On the 5th of February, the Coup Crusaders witnessed a cessation as their second generation concluded after five months of activity. The army’s commander, Toxic Storm, made an official announcement for the same stating that the army would be merging with one of their allies, the Army of Club Penguin, and expressed his gratitude for the people and the armies that had made this generation possible. After returning to the army community in October of last year, the army has had its’ share of highs and lows, however, there have been several noteworthy moments in this span of five months that the army will be remembered by.
With a maximum of 11 people online for their reopening event, the Coup Crusaders made a strong return to the army community. Soon after, in November, the army went on to participate in Double Deck the Halls II, a tournament organized by the Army of Club Penguin and teamed up with the Rebel Penguin Federation to face the People’s Imperial Confederation and the Clovers themselves in an intense showdown featuring a team of two armies on each side. The Coup Crusaders alongside the Rebel Penguin Federation emerged victorious in this battle, giving the Crusaders not only their first tournament win but also a dependable and faithful friend as the army established an alliance with the Rebels following their shared triumph.
Shortly after this, the Coup Crusaders announced a new project, titled ‘Operation: Pink Nightmare’, which involved “a series of activities that the army undertook in hopes of accomplishing their goals in the army community for the year 2024.” This was followed by a change in foreign relations and state of affairs as the army not only announced the Special Weapons and Tactics as their enemy but went on to declare war against the Elite Guardians, with three other armies – the Army of Club Penguin, the People’s Imperial Confederation, and the Templars forming the United Front Alliance. Even though this war, named the Christmas Crusade, raged in the community for more than a month, the Coup Crusaders were the first to withdraw from it during mid-January, this year, and as the month of February began, the army announced its closure merging with the Army of Club Penguin.
Club Penguin Armies had the opportunity to talk to Toxic Storm and learn more about the army’s shutdown and merge.
What was the reason behind this merger?
The Coup Crusaders army was built from the efforts of ACP members and other armies like the Golden Guardians in its beginnings. I found it a good way to end the 2nd generation of the army, in addition to having ACP under the leadership of the person who made CC possible 3 years ago. These are some of the factors I saw and that also made sense. CC merging into ACP was a good decision that i hope will help ACP in its future.
Do you think you were able to accomplish everything that you had planned for the army in these five months?
Well not really, but things happen in life and people just have to move on. i would have loved if CC was able to accomplish more in its time, but it is what it is. im still happy with all the new friendships we made and earning our first tournament win as an army.
What have been some of your favorite moments from this generation of the army?
Probably winning the Deck the Halls 2 tournament with RPF. That tournament helped us get closer with RPF and everyone in the tournament had fun.
Will the Coup Crusaders return to the community sometime in the future?
I’m not bringing it back and won’t be a part of the 3rd generation. I’ve had my chance in 2020 and this year to work on the army, so I’m hoping that if it does return, it will be under new leadership. we can never be certain if CC would ever return but maybe one day.
Although the Coup Crusaders have closed as an army currently, it seems that there is still a possible chance of the army returning in the future for a third generation. For now, we look forward to seeing how this merger will perform and wish Toxic Storm, the Coup Crusaders, and the Army of Club Penguin, the very best in all of their future endeavors.
Let’s just hope this merger doesn’t make CC do anything stupid.
Really hope so
