After over a month of discussions, voting, and more voting, the results of the first Summer Session from the Legends Committee are ready to be unveiled.
Community Vote Recap
The purpose of the Community Vote is to ensure that the community’s opinions make a tangible mark on the yearly inductions. Any nominee that receives over 50.5% affirmative votes receives a +1 vote to their official count when the Legends Committee themselves gather to vote. The Community Vote opened to the public on September 5th and was open until September 10th. Over that time, 40 votes were received and only one was discarded due to lack of verification. The totals for each nominee are as follows:

Congratulations to Bam117, Dino, Eden, Revan, and Wynn for being affirmed by the community! In the last induction that featured the return of the Community Vote, only one individual (Bestpenguin) received a majority of ‘yes’ votes. While this session saw less voters participate, the higher scores indicate a strong class of nominees that span across generations of the community.
The Process Thus Far
As a refresher, the nominee list shown above was compiled by the Legends Committee using an open suggestion system. This allowed any committee member to submit a candidate for nomination. Each submission was discussed at large and voted upon with a non-binding ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ poll. The Committee Heads evaluated the polls and discussions for each candidate and crafted a nominee list that was approved by the larger committee.
Following the release of the Community Vote, the Legends Committee met twice to discuss all of the nominees. The first discussion took place before the results of the Community Vote were finalized. All nominees were discussed in alphabetical order. The second discussion took place after the results of the Community Vote were finalized and shared with the Legends Committee. Discussions began with the highest vote-getters from the public and continued in descending order.
Upon the conclusion of the second discussion, the Army Legend Ballot was released to the Legends Committee on Sunday, September 13th. Committee members had until Wednesday, September 16th at 11:59 PM EST to submit their ballot. Once the votes were tallied and finalized, the results were shared with the Legends Committee and 48 hour polls were put up to decide on each inductees classification. There are currently two classifications: Major Leader and S/M Leader. Whichever classification got more votes was assigned to each inductee.
As a reminder, the Legends Committee is open to any and all Army Legends that wish to participate. The committee for the 2026 Summer Session was as follows:

For the first time in Legends Committee history, all Army Legends voted on all nominees. This came after the changes made to the title, where Major Army Legends and S/M Army Legends were put onto the same page with subheading classifications of Major or S/M Leaders. Thus, with there being 23 committee members, a total of 12 votes is required to be inducted as an Army Legend.
One committee member (who will remain anonymous) failed to submit votes on time. While this brings the total amount of voters down to 22, the 12 vote requirement still stands as candidates must receive more yes votes than no votes. A tie in votes is not viewed as a majority and will not be granted Army Legend Status.
Lastly, it is important to mention the presence of the Club Penguin Army Wiki during this entire process. CPAW Bureaucrat Dino was present as an observer to ensure that the induction was completed in good faith. Dino has monitored the discussions for several years now and continues to be a valued part of the process, keeping minutes and notes while providing statistical based input to the Legends Committee. However, since Dino was chosen as a nominee this year, he was not apart of his own discussions. A separate channel was made to avoid any interaction on his status as a nominee with him. A report from the wiki- written by Dino himself- will be made available at some point following the results.

Congratulations to our first class of unified, historical Army Legends: Ads354, Bam, Cosmo, Dino, Revan, and Sapper! Seeing a mix of recent CPPS figures whose careers have grown stronger in retrospect alongside some overlooked Disney era leaders is a really impactful way to show that being an Army Legend comes in many different shapes and forms.
Given the impending changes from a blogroll style Army Legends page to an interactive sorter, nameplates were not issued for these Army Legends. However, they will be added to the current page with placeholder heading.
Personal closing words from DMT:
Well, we finally did it. After several years of Army Legends clamoring for ‘retrospective’ inductions and many more years of community members expressing confusion or disdain with the S/M Army Legend title, we’ve managed to kill two birds with one stone in our first Summer Session since 2020. I won’t lie to you, it was a long path to get here. As was outlined in the Committee Update at the beginning of this month, work began on the changes seen in this induction process back in March. It took a lot of voting and a great amount of discussion to get to where we are today. While we take pride in this work, we also know that this is just the beginning. We must continue to reinforce what has been established during this cycle and build upon it in the future.
As one half of the current Committee Head duo, I can assure you that we plan to continue our push to formalizing the entire Legends Inductions process. Classifications, classes by year, nominee types, and committee conditions are just the start. It is a daunting task, but it is our hope that we can work to more clearly define what it means to be an Army Legend. While it is a title that will always be subjective, creating a standard that must be replicated for Legends Committees to come will help everyone to better understand what an Army Legend ‘ought to look like. As that begins to take shape, it also opens the door for more community engagement. We must ensure that the community remains a vital part of the process. Like was hinted to earlier in the cycle, we plan for future nominee lists to be compiled in part by the community itself. But we must first give the community the proper tools to engage with the process so they can play their part successfully.
Of course, it is not all sunshine and rainbows in the Legends Committee. While talks this year were- in my opinion- better than they’ve ever been before, not everyone was pleased with the way the groundwork was built for this new era of the committee. Just as we will involve the community on this journey, we must continue to balance that with the Army Legends that continue to support the vision, even when they perhaps do not agree with it. While I think many came around to it in the end, there will likely be many tweaks made to the system in future town halls, particularly that of nomination limits for historical nominees.
It also became abundantly clear from both sides that the biography system needs a massive overhaul. Biographies are one of those things that are done because they always have been, but have never had one standard or expectation. Some read like eulogies or personal testimonials, whereas others are expansive yet rigid in what they discuss. As we gear up to move to our own Army Legend website, we will be reevaluating how we can inform the public on nominees while also enshrining newly inducted Army Legends with material not rife with conjecture.
Personal closing words from Mare:
After multiple discussions since the town hall in March, followed by the Legends discussions for the summer nominations, it’s exciting to say that we have finally come to the end of voting. The process has been a long one, and it’s exciting to finally see everything come together and see how the votes played out.
I’m very proud of the way the discussions went, and being able to finally conduct historical voting was a really interesting experience. This has definitely been a different process from what we’ve done in the past years, especially with the changes to the titles. What differentiates this process from previous ones, is that after determining who we believe should be inducted, we then take an additional step to determine their classification based on their entire army career and the contributions they’ve made throughout it. I think this has made the process much more meaningful, as we’re not only deciding who deserves to be recognized, but also taking the time to consider where they fit within the Legends system based on their career as a whole.
Moving forward, I think one thing we should continue to work toward is bridging the gap between what were formerly the Major Legends and the S/M Legends, so that both sides feel equally meaningful and connected under the new system. This process is an important step toward that, but I think there’s still room for us to continue developing it together. It’s been awesome to see this process come together, and I’m excited to see where we go from here. Stay tuned for the website and much more to come!

For potentially the last time, we would like to thank Club Penguin Armies for their hosting of the Legends Committee. The only reason we are able to go out and make our own website is because of the continued support the administration has shown for the title and our efforts. While we are sad to go, we look forward to expanding our partnership in new and exciting ways that will bolster community interaction with the Army Legend title. We would also like to thank the Club Penguin Army Wiki for their contributions to the process. We strive to be an organization that is transparent, and our partnership with the Wiki has done a great deal of work towards legitimizing our efforts. There were talks at the beginning of the process about the Legends Committee being able to stand on its own without a Wiki Observer, but we pushed against that for the value that they bring to both us and the community.
In whatever way it comes, we look forward to seeing the community again towards the end of the year for the 2026 Winter Session, which is primed to have a heavy focus on contemporary candidates and current leaders.
