History

The Dark Warriors were initially founded in 2007 and have built a lasting legacy throughout Club Penguin army history, earning several notable tournament victories, including Christmas Chaos II and IV, as well as Champions Cup III. After reaching their peak in 2019 and 2020, the army eventually shut down toward the end of 2020.

The Warriors were revived on July 5, 2025, making an impressive return. In their return, they maxed 41 troops in a massive showing and later winning the Summer Blitz Tournament. Since then, they have continued to grow and establish themselves as a major army, now led by Salah, Julia, and Midnight, who aim to lead the Warriors toward even greater success. As of October 18, 2026, Star and Ugly are also leaders within DW.

Dark Warriors’ anniversary event

For this special post, Club Penguin Armies had the chance to sit down with the leaders and learn more about the anniversary.

How did the Dark Warriors prepare for this year’s anniversary celebration?

Salah: We have quite a few things planned, ranging from anniversary themed events and competitions to memorable surprises that we hope will leave a lasting positive impact on our community! We’ve been putting a lot of effort into making this anniversary special to bring our community even closer together and create new memories that will be remembered for years to come .

Julia: We’ve been talking about what to do for this years’ anniversary since August. Shoutout to the Dark Council for all the ideas they’ve provided while we were going through a war and dealing with regular army stuff.

Midnight: Last year wasn’t the best so we want this year to be something amazing. We want every year to be amazing. We have a week of fun events planned with multiple competitions. Hope 2 have a very enjoyable week.

How has the army evolved over the years, and what changes are you most proud of?

Salah: Compared to the beginning of our revival, the Dark Warriors have evolved tremendously, from the number of people involved to the level of interaction and engagement within our community. We’ve managed to build a welcoming and friendly environment while maintaining a healthy competitive drive that continues to push us forward. Seeing that balance between community spirit and ambition has been one of the most rewarding parts of our growth, and it’s something I hope we continue to build upon .

Julia: This army is VASTLY different compared to its older generations, and even last year’s version of DW. In recent times, I’m extremely proud of the teams collaboration with each other. I’m also really proud of finding a brother alliance with the Aliens.

Midnight: DW was dead, then it returned. We started small, many people doubted us believing the army would fail. We were very successful in our time as an SM army, winning 2 tournaments and runner ups in another. We eventually grew and achieved major status. And we continued to grow, growing stronger and stronger. Recently slapped TCP. The growing never ends, DW will keep growing as time passes. And ofc, we could not have come this far without our amazing team! o7

What are your hopes and expectations for the army over the next few years?

Salah: There are a lot of things I wish to see accomplished over the next few years, from welcoming more dedicated and amazing future Dark Warriors into our community to becoming the number one army and winning tournaments that will further honor our legacy. Beyond competitive success, one of my biggest hopes is to ensure the longevity of this generation of Dark Warriors, building a strong foundation that will allow us to continue growing and thriving for years to come. Making it a generation leaving its own mark on DW’s history and elevating it even further than it already has.

Julia: Hopefully, I’ll be resigned from my position as DW Leader, and a new leader generation can figure that out! It’s not that I don’t love being a leader for DW, it’s moreso that I have so much faith in the staff/hcom we have today. I’m their number one fan and I can wait to watch them take the helm and see what they do with DW. Reaching #1 on the top ten wouldn’t be so bad either, haha!

Midnight: Hope to be the best, Number #1

What was your most memorable moment in Dark Warrior?

Salah: This is a tough question, as there are truly tons of memorable moments throughout my time in the Dark Warriors. However, if I had to choose one, it would certainly be our recent war against the Templars, which we won in stunning fashion! Followed by the announcement of our brother alliance status with Aliens. All together, these moments really stand out as an unforgettable chapter in DW’s history for me.

Julia: If we’re going with ever in DW’s existence, then my most memorable moment in DW was in 2020. I cannot explain how much I both loved and hated that generation of DW, but the staff/hcom in 2020 were the funniest group of people you could ever meet. One particular member made a diss track for our own leader back then. There were fanfiction writing contests, the memes were unrivaled. It was the best time ever. In this generation however, I got to give a shoutout to my Diva Warriors! You all know who you are queens! #DivaDigest

Midnight: Many great memories in this army, hard to choose so I will go with something recent, leading in our war against TCP. Very fun, DW was active, first war I’ve led in many years and the feeling was great.

How does it feel to know that this army is one of the oldest ones and is still around after all these years?

Salah: It makes it all the more special knowing that we’re carrying forward and preserving the legacy of one of the oldest and most well-known armies in Club Penguin history. Having such a rich history behind us only adds to our motivation and determination to keep pushing forward. It’s something that makes us stand even prouder as Dark Warriors, knowing that we’re not only honoring the generations that came before us but also contributing to a legacy that will continue for many more years to come.

Julia: It makes me feel unc. I was in DW in 2012, and here I am in the big 2026 still here… set me

Midnight: Theres a lot of weight and expections with leading “Dark Warriors”. It motivates us, still being around after nearly 2 decades is amazing. The age of darkness never ends.

As one of the longest-standing army in Club Penguin history, the Dark Warriors marked their anniversary with a memorable celebration. Everyone at Club Penguin Armies congratulates DW on reaching this milestone. How do you feel about their anniversary celebration, and what do you expect to see from the Dark Warriors moving forward?
