A new Club Penguin private server was recently seen in the light among Club Penguin armies. To make the game feel different, the developers included suitable options for armies. Two months have passed since its launch, and its developers have consistently been building new ideas.

On July 11, 2026, Space Penguin developer and administrator Zackaria launched the Beta Party for the newfound Club Penguin private server, allowing the public to play the game for the first time. On July 16, the game closed its open beta phase, and multiple game updates were released in the following days. By the beginning of August, the game had already hit 1,000 penguins. Unlike most traditional private servers, this game features same-page multilogging ability, new minigames, cheat commands, a daily spinning wheel, quests, redesigned space-themed rooms, and free-of-cost items.

Right now, Space is the only server available in-game. In peak hours, dozens of players populate the sole server. The game also offers two currencies — coins and Orbs. On top of that, the conventional “BFF” and “Marriage” features are also open to all players. Player cards feature custom music and card likes. Players can purchase special abilities like wall-walking, penguin size, penguin glow, name styling, and message color with Orbs. Some features resemble those on CPA Battleground. The developers used Yukon to build the game, the same framework powering CPAB.

Currently, the game has four other staff members, including two moderators and two artists. Before the original release, the developers published a trailer video on YouTube on July 8. Occasionally, the game hosts community events, such as movie parties, to drive community engagement. It is worth noting that the game currently lacks an automated filter, creating a significant safety gap.
Since its release, the wider Club Penguin community has criticized the game because they believe the developers used artificial intelligence (AI) to create it, including its art assets. When Club Penguin Armies asked Zackaria whether he used AI — and exactly how he used it if he did — he responded…
Yes, some AI has been used, mainly for the catalog front, two postcards, and some of the web design (e.g when you look at the commands page, staff page rules page), but Space Penguin itself was not just simply “made by ai”.
We are currently in the process of re-drawing and replacing the two postcards as well as making more, + completely re-doing the catalog. This is something that was overlooked early on…
There are times it’s helped where I didn’t know how to do something specific in the actual game itself. The direction of the game, its features, design decisions, implementing/code, testing, and management are still handled by me.
As An Option For Armies
When a Club Penguin private server spawns, so do the armies on them. So far, only the Aliens of Club Penguin have leveraged the newfound game, hosting solo events casually. However, finding unaffiliated rogues remains a challenge because the army community already dominates the game’s player base. Space Penguin allows players to add items for free in-game, attracting armies to its surface. The game’s administration has also recommended that armies submit their own thematic pins.

On July 20, the Aliens acquired a max of 19 penguins at their sole event on the game. They claim that they received no recruits from hosting an event on the game, and all the attendees were Discord server members alone. Presently, the Aliens rely on the game just to hang out at the moment. When asked about the army’s perspective on the game, Leader-in-Training Em answered…
We’ve been loving space penguin to use leisurely, for sure! The aesthetics of it are amazing, and the extra additions you can get with orbs, and the dm & groupchat functions are super fun too. It isn’t quite the place for full events at this moment in time but maybe something to look forward to in future. It is also great for making videos with as you can get all items in one command. Over all, its a great CPPS to use casually!

The ongoing 2026 CPA Summit is actively debating the proper use of private servers. Ultimately, the Summit’s new rules will better define how armies can operate on Space Penguin based on community perspectives. Army of Club Penguin leader Daniel20448 claims that ACP troops have been active on the newfound game lately. When asked about his thoughts on the game, he responded…
I’ve played myself on the CPPS and it’s actually pretty fun. It has a lot of features which famous CPPSes like Oasis had (it works very similar to it with 0 filter and gimmicks you can do with your penguin in exchange for something else), but also brings in more original ones into the mix. There’s a lot of interesting original designs for rooms which look really cool and, afaik, haven’t been used before at all. One of it’s developers (not name dropping since I’m not sure if they wish to be) actually was really kind and approached us about adding a pin to the game related to ACP, we got in contact with CPA to make sure it was fine and now it’s in the game! I also have to mention the movie screen at the Cave is really cool. Never seen something like that done (not aware if it’s done before).
When it comes to using it we most likely will not be using it for our events. The 0 filter does break ACP rules and it’s not something we want to promote in the middle of an event. We’re also pretty settled on Club Penguin Journey and getting people to make penguins on more Club Penguins get tedious for them. Some of our members do play on it though and have a ton of fun, so them (and me personally) will play on our free time.
Community responses show that Space Penguin is still relatively new and lacks adequate moderation; therefore, introducing armies to the game is thinking too soon. On the contrary, community members appreciate the unique features available in the game, plus the extra creativity put into making it. If CPA Battleground were to disappear in the future, the game could perhaps serve as a modern alternative.
Lastly, Club Penguin Armies reached out to the game’s sole developer and administrator, Zackaria, to learn more about the game’s release and relevance to armies.
What motivated you to work on Space Penguin? Do you fear any potential takedown in the future?
I was mainly motivated by nostalgia and the idea of bringing Space Penguin back in a more modern form. The original project had a lot of charm, and I wanted to rebuild it in HTML5 while also expanding on it with new features, customization, events, alien mascot, etc.
As for a potential takedown, it’s always something you have to be aware of when working on a project inspired by Club penguin. I try not to let that control the project, though. My focus is on building something fun for the community. There’s been numerous times where people have said, “that’s not what club penguin wanted”, but in my eyes, even if it isn’t, every CPPS has their own vision. That’s what makes them unique. As long as we’re moderating things and keeping everything appropriate – I see no big issue.
How does your game differ from other games in a way that can benefit armies?
Space Penguin is built with a lot of flexibility.
I’m also open to working with the army community on features or improvements that make events, meetups, and other activities easier. Since the game is actively being worked on, there’s a lot more room to listen to feedback and adapt things around how communities actually use it.
Is making the game feel like home for armies a primary goal?
I wouldn’t say armies are the only or primary focus of Space Penguin, because I want the game to feel welcoming to everyone. However, I definitely want armies to feel like they have a place here too .
Armies have been a huge part of the Club Penguin community for many years, so if Space Penguin can provide them with a stable and enjoyable place, why not? I don’t have anything against them. And if other games do, I’m not familiar to why that would be.
Do you believe that armies will stick around in the near future and leverage your game appropriately?
I think armies will continue to exist as long as there are people who enjoy the community and competitive side of them. They’ve managed to survive through a lot of changes over the years, including the original Club Penguin shutting down and communities moving between different comunities.
Whether armies heavily use Space Penguin will ultimately depend on what they want and whether the game provides what they need.
Would you like to add anything else?
Space Penguin is still evolving. A lot of what has been added so far has come from experimenting, listening to feedback, and thinking about what could make the traditional CPPS experience cool/fresh.
I want Space Penguin to be something people enjoy using, whether they’re there for armies, events, customization, minigames, or simply to hang out with their friends, making new friends, etc.
In summary, Space Penguin offers armies a unique opportunity to enhance their solo events and leverage the platform to their advantage. Zackaria remains welcoming toward the army community, viewing them as a valuable part of the player base without making them the game’s sole focus. Furthermore, the long-term viability of this private server remains uncertain, leaving it unclear if it will survive long enough for armies to truly thrive. Should Space Penguin be considered a viable alternative for armies? How long can the community realistically sustain itself on this CPPS?
