Welcome to the second edition of the Army Index. It is similar to the Top Ten, but here armies gain points based on how “army-like” they behave each month, based on numerous metrics.

Introduction

Before we get to the numbers, let’s make some clarifications first. If you wish to see how the Army Index works in detail, you can do so by reading the June edition. There have been some balance changes made so that the formula is more “fair”. To be precise, the changes are two. The first one is the addition of a multiplier to the points given due to owned land. The multiplier is *0.25 and was added so that armies that just sit on land don’t get as many points. Additionally, the “-20 + Top Ten of the Month placement” changes to “-10 + TTOTM placement” and affects only the first ten armies in the TTOTM. The rest of the armies, the ones outside of the Top Ten in the TTOTM, don’t gain/lose points because of that. The rest of the formula remains unchanged.

• Note: The Practice Battle between Aliens and TCP was deemed an off-map battle/raid due to ACP raiding it. As raids don’t have an official winner, a 50% win rate was used in the formula.

Stats 

• The armies with the most land at the end of July were the Shadow Legionaries and the Water Vikings with 17.
• The armies with the most battles were the Army of Club Penguin, the Rebel Penguin Federation, the Water Vikings, and the Help Force, with 3.
• Throughout the entire month, there were 9 tournament battles, the Legends Cup XVI battles, a practice battle, and a practice battle that ended in a raid.
• All the non tournament battle was between armies of the Same Classification, and all of them were Major armies.
• The Shadow Legionaries, the ACP, and the RPF had the largest win rate, with 100%.
• On the other side, the SnowWalkers of Club Penguin and the Dark Warriors had the least, with 0%.
• 9 active armies held land on the map at the end of July.
• 10 armies participated in battles during July.

The battles that took place in July (in random order) and their results are the following:
