Ice Warriors and Golden Troops Sign Peace Treaty
Leadership Changes
By 2014, both Ice Warriors and Golden Troops had a long and storied history within the community. In the previous year, IW’s creator, Iceyfeet1234, returned to the army for a second time after a brief retirement. After a five-year leadership, he retired in May 2012 and handed off the position to Albert417. However, the latter’s leadership did not last long, as he retired in September 2013. Shortly after, Bearsboy10 replaced him and led the army for several months until his early retirement in 2014. Subsequently, Tes7 and Ben became the first duo to lead the army in its history. Next, Ben left the army after a little over a month and made Tes7 the sole leader. Finally, Kingfunks4 joined Tes7 in the leadership in May 2014. Ultimately, IW established a duo leadership by July 2014.

Special Weapons and Tactics-IW War
At the same time, Special Weapons and Tactics declared war on IW as a display of strength on May 11, 2014. Previously, the army’s leaders, Tempah and Lights717, left the army after their removal from leadership. Additionally, multilogging allegations contributed to Taco’s departure from the SWAT leadership. With these events, IW held an advantage with SWAT’s instability. Likewise, IW dominated the war even with disputed battle results. After several battles, the war ended with a treaty made between the two armies. Lastly, both armies transferred land back, with IW’s acquisition of some of SWAT’s servers. Overall, the war prepared IW for their conflict with Golden Troops.

Golden Troops’ Shutdown and Revival
Simultaneously, GT closed its doors in February 2013 after its leaders disbanded the army. Months later, the army returned for a new generation with Jerry, Sercan, Sidie9, Stormae, Tempah, and Vivek as leaders. With the army’s revival, the leaders’ controversies became a topic of discussion again. Regardless, GT held several successful AUSIA events under the leadership of Sidie9 and Vivek with maxes of 20+ penguins. In the following weeks, the army became one of the largest armies in the community. Thanks to their success, GT reached second place on the Top Ten not long after its revival. In short, the early period of rivalry for GT had significant promise.

Given the army’s success, GT declared war on IW and promoted their intentions for a fun war. Soon after, the two armies fought for possession of Parka in the first battle of the war. During the battle, both armies achieved sizes of 25 penguins or more. At the end of the battle, GT claimed their first victory of the war as the armies’ leaders agreed to such a result. In the next several battles, GT won the majority of them with one loss and one tie. These battles’ results had no disputed results, as the leaders typically agreed which army was declared the winner. Ultimately, a treaty was signed on July 19, 2014, as a conclusion to the conflict. Following the treaty, both armies returned invaded land and agreed that GT was the official winner. Throughout the war, GT proved the superior force as they dominated the conflict.

Conclusion
In their long history, IW participated in many conflicts with mixed results, such as their loss against GT. Additionally, the army showed how leadership changes affected an army’s experience during a major conflict. However, GT demonstrated how a newly revived army could compete with armies with more stability. Throughout their early revival, GT had sizes that were competitive with armies that stayed open for a long period of time. Finally, the war displayed the capabilities of both armies during the midway point of the year. In short, both armies had different experiences based on the state of each army.
