Legends Cup XVI: Announcement & Qualifiers Information

Information

Legends Cup XVI begins with the Qualifier Round, in which we see two Small/Medium armies facing each other. Those will advance to the Quarter Finals. All armies that have reached the Quarter Finals will then go through 3 battles. Armies that lose in the Quarter Finals will have two battles for the 5th-8th placement spots, attempting to get the best out of it. The ones that reach the Semi Finals and lose there will fight in the third-place battles. Armies that win in the Semi Finals will enter the Grand Finals and fight for the grand trophy.

This time, we see 9 armies participating in the tournament. With the addition of the placement rounds, the tournament is expected to be as competitive as possible. The full schedule of the tournament is as follows:

Qualifiers: July 11th

Quarter Finals: July 18th

Semi Finals & 5th-8th Placements: July 25th – 26th

3rd-8th Placements: August 1st-2nd

Grand Finals: August 2nd

Information about the following rounds will be published after the Qualifiers.

Rules

To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, we have established the following rules based on previous and recently updated tournament policies. Please make sure to read them carefully.

  • Reviews will only be allowed for the Grand Finals and will be conducted by unaffiliated (to the battle) Head Judges.
    • Just like in the previous tournaments, there have been deadlines set concerning the review process:
    • Leaders cannot request a review more than three hours after the final results are posted. Additionally, they cannot submit evidence later than 21 hours after requesting a review (videos should be submitted as soon as possible).
    • Head Judges must notify both armies about the review and whether it will proceed as soon as possible. The deadline for the Head Judges to complete the review is 24 hours after the evidence submission deadline.
  • Attendance policy: Individuals are allowed to attend for an army if:
    • They enlisted in the army before July 10, 11:59 pm ET. It does not matter if they are also enlisted in another army. Advisors count as an active rank.
    • They are not enlisted in any army. The Ice Warriors do not count as an army. Check the Active Armies page to see what counts as an active army, at the time of the announcement.
      • They must stick with the same army throughout the tournament. If this army is eliminated, they cannot attend battles for any other.
  • The judging will be undertaken by Club Penguin Army Judges and organized by the Head Judges.
  • Each army has the right to veto up to two judges per battle. Once an army has used both vetoes, it cannot issue any more for that battle. Vetoes must be made before the four-hour mark and cannot be used against Head Judges unless they are affiliated with an army. If no available judges remain after the vetoes, the Head Judges may appoint individuals, including those previously vetoed, to ensure the battle proceeds smoothly.
  • Each room will have three judges. If there are not enough judges, a Head Judge may count as two. The Grand Finals will have five judges.
  • Anybody banned from CPA: Battleground cannot participate in tournament battles (including but not limited to attending on alts, leading from Discord or other third-party websites, etc.). If found guilty of violating this rule at the administrators’ discretion, the army they are involved with may be disqualified.

Uniforms

Given the historical theme of the tournament, as part of the Twentieth Summer, armies are encouraged to use their first-ever uniform. Direct message an image of your uniform, as it appears in game, to the CPA admins so that it can get approved. Then, you can use it for the tournament battles. If there is a colour clash, one of the armies may be asked to alter its colour to avoid issues with judging.

As always, we would like to thank Dino, Master DS, and Zambi for providing all the graphics for the tournament. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Head Judges and Judges at Club Penguin Army Judges for their support and preparation, as well as to the CPAB for providing a space army CPPS where we can host the tournament. Last, but not least, thank you goes to the army community that supports our tournaments.

Best of luck to all participants, may the best army win! Who do you think will move forward to the next round? Are you excited for the Legends Cup XVI to start? What do you think of the placement battles?
