On Thursday, May 28, the Group Stage battles of the Around the World Cup tournament began. This post recalls the results of the battles and examines how the community reacted to them.

In the past week, the Group Stage battles for the returning Around the World Cup III tournament took place. On the battlefield, we saw the fights of Group A, containing the Army of Club Penguin, the Aliens, the Shadow Legionnaires, and the Fire Vikings. On the other hand, we saw the Templars, the Dark Warriors, the SnowWalkers of Club Penguin, and the XBOX Republic.
Football Around the Court
On May 26, in the EU timezone, we witnessed the Army of Club Penguin versus the Fire Vikings, which resulted in an ACP victory. An hour later, Aliens battled against SL, in which Aliens triumphed.

On May 27, in the EU timezone, we saw the Templars fight against the XBOX Republic, and the Templars stole the victory. It was followed an hour later by the Dark Warriors winning their own battle against the SnowWalkers, for the latter army did not show up.

On May 28, in the US timezone, Aliens and Fire Vikings went through a throwback of ATWC III, going against each other, resulting in an Aliens win. An hour later, the ACP went against SL, grabbing another win.

On May 29, in the US timezone, Dark Warriors went against the XBOX Republic, but DW managed to win the battle. In the next hour, the Templars battled against the SnowWalkers, resulting in a new Templars victory.

On May 30, in the AUSIA timezone, we witnessed the Aliens and the Army of Club Penguin battle it out. Shortly, in just half an hour, ACP took victory, sending them to the Majors Finals round of the tournament. An hour into this, the Legionnaires won their battle against Fire Vikings, achieving to go to the Small/Medium finals of the tournament.

Finally, on May 31, in the AUSIA timezone, we saw Templars going against Dark Warriors, with the former winning. This brought them to the Grand Finals. An hour later, XBOX Republic and the SnowWalkers had their battle, which resulted in a tie by the judges due to the impossibility of judging a battle where both sides maxed 1. Due to this tie, Fire Vikings will be fighting against Shadow Legionnaires during the S/M finals.

Lastly, Club Penguin Armies reached out to multiple community members to learn their reactions to the Group Stage battles.
Clade KoA, Dark Warriors: Honestly, the battles were alright, but I personally think last year’s ATWC was more fun and had more challenges. This Year was really underwhelming, with some armies showing up with sizes of 1 or not showing up at all. The pairing was interesting to say the least
denizmyn, XR, ATCP, FV: i wanted a team tournament like in army teams, not color teams too. for example:
– THE WATER TEAM
– LUCKY TEAM
– FIRE TEAM etc. or maybe custom names like these:
SUNLOVERS team. But we got a worldcup.. so i couldnt really perform with my army.
but love the size fairnessCharlie, Templars: Uhh well I’m gonna say is if your gonna sign up for a battle BE THERE like 😭 Also with the wins im ngl im not suprised at all. It’s pretty much normal stuff yk? Even tho i wasnt there for the TCP vs DW one, its jsut normal battle with armies that dont even show up half the time unless it is maijor amries against each other than yea sure its a real battle and event
Fwapo, Templars: I think this has been an interesting tourney so far, I have seen armies who really are showing their true potential. SL is one of them, I have been seeing their recent performance in the recent months and I can say its really an underrated army although their recent defacement they have managed to make it to the grand finale of the SM tourney so congrats to them for that. Another major army that I think is one and only army who’s been upholding the main aspects of a club penguin army battle ground server is the Templars. Furthermore, they make sure to balance the joy of their troop with respect to actual war battles, no matter if its a lose or win they make sure to give the needed suspense for their troops to out perform in the upcoming one so also good stuff on that. And I wish the best of luck for both TCP and ACP and may the best win.
Fun X Time, Star Force: Well, it’s a pity that some armies no-showed battles. However, the show put up by performing armies was really impressive. Hats off to all armies involved in the Group Stage part of the tournament, it went really well. Aliens, Army of Club Penguin, Templars of Club Penguin, Dark Warriors, Shadow Legionnaires, Fire Vikings, and XBOX Republic have put up really awesome work. I can’t wait to see what the Grand Finals unveil next!
