Goobers-Roman Integration
Amidst the bustling season of 2026, the community witnessed the arrival of a new army, resulting in increased competitiveness. Frosty and Saiko founded the Goobers on March 27, 2026, and they are a new Small/Medium army that is continually growing in size. With leaders Neburt and TommyShelby, the army has already passed enrollment standards and has begun staging events, though Saiko’s personal issues have led to the cancellation of some of them. Saiko offers expertise from Doritos of Club Penguin, the Water Vikings, and his present affiliation with the Romans, giving early leadership power to the organization.
After some time in the community, Club Penguin’s Goobers made an unexpected move by combining with the Romans. This decision represents a significant shift in their early trajectory, uniting both organizations under a single framework. The merger is projected to combine leadership and membership, resulting in a stronger and more consistent presence in the CPA community.
The Romans are one of the community’s original armies, formed by Explorer7777 in 2006 and revitalized in 2025 by a new leadership team that includes Ulysses Nardo, Znation, and Csani. Since their return, they have worked to restore stability and preserve their position in the S/M community through events, wars, and active leadership. The merging with Goobers might potentially improve Roman activity by attracting new members, ideas, and engagement, increasing troop counts and event activity, and providing the Goobers with a more established structure to flourish under within the CPA community.

Announcement made by Yano regarding the Goobers merging with the Romans.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Yano to discuss the recent merger of the Goobers with the Romans.
What was the biggest reason behind the Goobers and Romans deciding to merge?
Biggest regret was prolly uh.. not being able to make gcp get to the top ten, BUT at least we got the 13th position!
How has the merger affected the activity and strength of the new army so far?
It didn’t really affect the activity and strength due to almost everyone who was in GCP also were in Romans so nothing rlly changed
How are members from both the Goobers and Romans adjusting to being part of one army? And has the merger met expectations so far?
They’re all pretty used to Romans since like I mentioned earlier, a lot of members from Goobers were in Romans or other armies. The only expectation was me getting 3ic in Romans which is prolly the highest rank I’ve ever had in a real CPA army
Overall, the Goobers-Romans merger has been a simpler transition than imagined, given both groups were already well-connected prior to the combination. Yano’s statement emphasizes this plainly, stating that the merger had no substantial influence on activity or strength because the majority of Goobers members were already Romans, implying that little changed in practice. While major structural changes have been minor thus far, the unification has enhanced stability and provided a clearer route for future growth within the CPA community.
