Another war has been declared; this time, we will see the Winged Hussars take on the Dark Pirates in war.
During the night of June 15, the Winged Hussars declared war, unexpectedly, upon the Dark Pirates. The declaration came as a surprise to many as it looked as if the two armies would remain outside of the ongoing conflicts in the community. However, that was not to be.
In their declaration post, the Winged Hussars stated that the age of conquest had already begun, as previously mentioned. Multiple armies have already engaged in war. Thus far, we have seen the Water Vikings and Elite Guardians start and end their war and Templars and Special Weapons And Tactics continue an age-long rivalry. Yet, they stated that it is not only an age of conquest but an age of competition. Ultimately, they aimed to challenge themselves and the Dark Pirates by declaring war.
It is not the first time the two armies have competed for something either. They both fight to earn their spot on the Top Tens weekly. Last month, the Pirates placed just one place above the Hussars who finished in 10th on the Top Ten of The Month. Yet, for the last couple of weeks, the Hussars have bested the Pirates. While the Top Ten competition is natural, it has surely made the two sides competitive, nonetheless.
Whilst the Hussars stated that they wanted to engage in war for competition, they also stated that it should not be seen as aggression. They aim to encourage future cooperation in the small/medium army scene, giving it the attention it needs. The two armies should be able to learn and grow from engaging in combat.
To find out more information about the declaration and their goals, Club Penguin Armies approached Snork, Hussars’ Leader, for an interview.
What were some of the reasons that led to war being declared?
We’ve discussed the idea of war for a while now once we felt ready, to energise the army and expand the Commonwealth. We didn’t target Dark Pirates for any specific reason other than them being the most viable target for war. Our hope is that a war between us SM armies can give us both a boost in the right direction, hence its name, Tailwind.
What are your goals? Is there anything you’d like to see come out of this war?
Our goal is to win, of course, but also increase our sizes when it counts. We’re prepared to face battles from times outside of our comfort zone with the Dark Pirates and we need to be able to stand up to anyone any time. It would be great to exit the war with both sides having an understanding and mutual respect for each other, like what happened in the Prestige War earlier in the year with PIC.
What are your opinions on the increase in wars in the community and how does this benefit SM armies?
It’s great! I don’t think there will be a slowdown in June 9th’s momentum soon. Of course it’s nice to have a peaceful little territory on the map, but the point of being an army is to fight. If you can take advantage of the situation to boost your troops’ morale, and in turn get more enthusiasm that will improve your events, it can give an army a much needed lift. I think it’s extra important in SM where each individual troop counts even more. Of course there are more factors than that to consider as a war can easily do the opposite, which is why it’s important to choose your fights carefully.
Do you have any comments to share for your opponent or perhaps your troops?
I wish the Dark Pirates the very best of luck in our war. Unlike many wars, we have no ill will against our opponents. I hope our battles will be ones to remember!
To the Hussars, be ready to fight! You’ve all done an amazing job in our trainings and freeland invasions and now it’s time to show off our full strength. Every troop counts, and we need YOU (you specifically, Hussar reader)!
It seems like this war was well thought out, even the name has meaning. Yet, unlike other wars, the goal is for both armies to learn and grow on the battlefield in a friendly manner. But what were the Dark Pirates’ initial reactions to the war being declared? We interviewed Dark Pirates’ Leader, Ninja Leader to find out.
What were your initial reactions to war being declared on Dark Pirates?
After SWAT uploaded the war declaration, I already knew that the winged hussars would try to declare war on us Swat are just trying to strengthen their ties to winged hussars. In their post, Swat claimed that winged hussars are being targeted by dark pirates. We will teach winged hussars how to walk the plank now that they have declared war on us. Originally, I had intended to declare war on them, but I changed my mind and decided to build up my army before facing one.
Do you have any goals going into it? Is there anything you’d like to see come out of this war?
We’ll do everything in our power to defeat the winged hussars and seize all the territory they own, but before we do, I’d like to strengthen my army and educate them how to deal with an army in combat!
The Hussars’ declaration said that the war is non-aggressive and should encourage future cooperation. Do you agree with this or perhaps you have a different perception?
Yes i agree i tried to ally with the past and would love to work with them in the future
It seems like, despite the tensions, there is hope for future cooperation between the two SM armies. War has always been a part of army culture, yet, we have previously seen the death of war. With a new competitive spirit surrounding armies, there will not be many dull moments in the near future. But who will come out on top of this war between the Pirates and Hussars? Will it lead to another small/medium army alliance being made? Are we about to see history in the making?
The war should serve the Dark Pirates well! The Dark Pirates revealed their war plans to start a war against the Winged Hussars in a CPA Army Board meeting. Their misuse of allies shall certainly make them endure.
I hope that the Winged Hussars win. Best of luck to both armies, though!
Krill, leave DPC alone. And back the hell off!
