Mato’s Journey In the Water Vikings
Mato started in the Water Vikings in December 2020 and remained an active member of the army. He worked hard to attend events and perform consistently as a staff member, eventually reaching high command. He additionaly won the Best High Command award at the 2025 CPA Fortune Gala for his efforts during the Blue Summer. In September 2025, he finally achieved Viking Commander, reaching leadership after years of dedication to his original army. He led Water Vikings through many battles and a few tournaments, then stepped down in March 2026.

From Water to Fire
The Fire Vikings struggled through the summer of 2026 but stabilized after several leadership and high-command changes. These changes included bringing Mato into the high command team as a leader-in-training on August 14, 2026. The change affected FV immediately, as they slowly began to rise again, with some great battles, including a recent practice-battle victory over the Shadow Legionnaires. On September 27, a few weeks after Mato joined FV, Yellow Typer, FV’s creator and leader, announced his promotion the following Saturday. Mato officially became commander on October 3, 2026.

How do you feel about the promotion to Fire Vikings Commander, given your prior experience in the Water Vikings?
I’m grateful for the promotion and to be able to lead here, with my experience with wv they trust in what ive done and what im going to do. Ive seen people compare the two armies as opposites- “enemies” -but i dont see it that way, rather I see it as two viking army communities im grateful to be a part of.
What plans and desires do you have for the Fire Vikings?
Even before officially joining fv ranks, ive seen some things that needed work, and my plans are to continue working on them and towards that structure of a strong army community. For the rest, youre just gonna have to wait and see 🙂
What do you think you will do in the Fire Vikings that you couldn’t do in the Water Vikings or as a Leader in Training?
Well as a leader in training I was already starting things up again in fv as I continue to do, so not much difference there. As for the comparison with WV, thats a whole different beast. For starters, WV already had a lot going for it after that insane LC run we had so it was more keeping that going and continuing what was already started, where as FV is a S/M still in relatively early stages. I think this gives me a lot more room to experiment and build something of our own. I want to build a strong foundation for FVs future and see how far we can take it.
