Over the past half-year, the army community has welcomed several new armies, each entering with different goals and expectations. Today, we will look at the armies created so far in 2026 and how they have fared.

The first half of 2026 has brought plenty of fresh faces to Club Penguin Armies. While some new armies have quickly made a name for themselves, others have struggled to find their footing. Every new army starts with the same goal — to build a community, recruit members, and leave its mark on the battlefield.
Lately, members of the army community have noticed a sharp increase in the number of armies. This year alone, 22 new armies have joined the community, either as a revival or as a first-generation kickstart. With so many new names showing up, the CPA scene has become more active, only in terms of numbers. Some of these armies have already managed to get decent sizes, form alliances, and even take part in wars, while others have shut down not long after opening. Still, it is too early to tell which ones will stick around.
The Community’s Concern
The community has repeatedly debated concerns revolving around small/medium army community activity, relevant map policies, and the participation of these newfound armies. Some community members suggest that too many armies are flowing into the league. Most of these armies are known to die out in a few days or weeks, with very few making it to a tournament and showing up.
At the 2026 CPA Summit happening now, many proposals have focused on new systems created with respect to S/M armies. Compared to last year’s Mapping the Map Summit, this year largely focuses on how the S/M army community can be shaped to favor increased activity in the community. The community has shown mixed responses towards these proposals. Furthermore, there are proposals with unprecedented concepts that are being brought to the table, with the vision of supporting army activity. Whether these proposals will successfully pass cannot be said with certainty. At this time, it is possible to analyze why so many armies are entering the army community now.

Some proposals made at the 2026 CPA Summit, of which few address issues related to the S/M army community or army activity in general
Let us explore a quick summary of the armies that have joined the army community so far this year.
The Armies So Far
Words by various reporters
Kicking off the year, Crimson Sovereign returned on January 7, 2026, after previously shutting down and briefly merging into the Water Vikings. Their return was quickly followed by another war declaration from the Penguins of Agartha, but the conflict lasted only a few days before both sides agreed to a peace treaty.

The Zall of Club Penguin opened its doors on January 10. Named after the creator, Zall, along with two other leaders, Fruit Salad and Turtel, the army had maxed out 2 at their opening event.

The White Troops opened on January 13. Revived by Dillon, the army was rebranded from Dillon’s Underground Mafia Army to the White Troops. Within a few days, the army had allied with the Army of Club Penguin. The army also declared war against the Scarlet Republic where they emerged victorious.

The Janitors of Club Penguin reopened on January 14, 2026, under Pranav and Zall, and quickly declared war on the Tsunamis. The declaration was made in support of Crimson Sovereign, who had already declared war on the Tsunamis, adding another army to the growing conflict.

The Fire Vikings revived on January 15. YellowTyper officially announced FV’s return to the community, announcing its third generation. Despite a few setbacks in the Leadership, the army has proven to come back stronger and has made a common appearance in tournaments. They have currently allied with the Phoenix of Club Penguin and the Templars. Shadow Legionnaires had declared war on FV. However, the war was halted after issues amidst CPAJ.

The Teutons returned to the CPA community on January 18, 2026, after nearly nine years away, with Justin, Alucard, Scars, and Villa leading the revival. Their opening event reached a max of 21, giving the army a solid start as they looked to rebuild the Teutons’ old legacy. The army later declared war on SWAT and also allied with the Void Troops.

The Cryo Vanguards opened in mid-January under the leadership of Kento and Dorx. Both leaders brought previous experience from armies such as the Dark Pirates and the Romans, helping guide the army in its early stages. Since opening, the army has also formed alliances with Special Weapons and Tactics, the Fire Vikings, and the Templars. The army had merged into Dark Pirates, which later revived. However, the army had unmerged a few weeks later.

Next up, the Goobers of CP entered the community led by Yano, Neburt, and TommyShelby on March 27 as a meme army. They maxed 2 in their opening event.

The Crimson Coalition officially opened on April 11, 2026, under the leadership of Breadpan and Flimsy following the shutdown of the Dark Pirates. The army got off to a promising start, bringing in 10 troops at its opening event before making its first appearance in the CPA Top Ten.

The Galaxy Fighters officially opened on April 18, 2026, under the leadership of MUMII. After a successful opening event, the army entered the community looking to grow its size, build a strong community, and make a name for itself in future battles.

Fort Ghost Recon officially reopened on May 3, 2026, under the leadership of Ghosty and Shad after being inactive for several years. Looking to bring the army back into the community, the new leadership focused on rebuilding its activity and creating a fresh start. With its return, Fort Ghost Recon became another familiar name making a comeback in 2026.

Mythrix founded the Businessmen of Club Penguin on April 30, 2026, when they achieved a max of 5 at their opening event. They have allied with the Wii Phones, Abyssal Tides, and the Romans. The army went to war against the Shadow Legionnaires. However, the conflict ended in a peace treaty with no successful battles. They also engaged in combat with the Imposters with allies. The conflict was unsuccessful due to the imposters’ defacement. Later, the army went on a hiatus and announced a formal shutdown, along with merging with the SnowWalkers of Club Penguin.

Torn and Peterpleco founded the SnowWalkers of Club Penguin on May 7, 2026. They maxed 2 at their opening event. They engaged in a war against the Businessmen, but they forfeited. In addition, they fought and won wars against the Steam Empire and the Imposters.

On May 31, 2026, leaders Yolsie and Xudo opened the Steam Empire, following an opening event where they maxed out 5 penguins. Subsequently, the newfound army faced five consecutive declarations of war from small/medium armies. The Discord server was deleted soon after these declarations, shutting down the army.

On April 11, the Pizzaioli of Club Penguin opened under the helm of Klombe and Skydorino. The army maxed out at a modest 2 penguins, whose uniforms featured pizza and hot sauce items. Subsequently, the army got involved on the army map, invading territories including Ascent and Fiesta. It is unique for a small/medium army to join the map at such an early stage.

Kento formed the XBOX Republic. They opened on May 18, when they achieved a max of 2. The army went into two battles, one against the Imposters and the other against the Steam Empire. They won the latter battle, but they entered a hiatus on June 12.

The Iron Confederation of Club Penguin opened its doors on June 8, 2026, with Breeze and Arya taking charge of the new army. The army now looks to grow its community and establish itself within CPA.

The Magma Clan reopened on June 6, 2026, under AB, Zujot, Nitro, unknown, Israel, and Lukey, reaching a max of 14 at its opening event. The army had plans to compete in Legends Cup XVI and push for Major status, while also allying with the Fire Vikings. However, activity soon dropped, with Nitro stepping down and the army failing to host events for over a month. Magma Clan was eventually shut down on July 7, bringing the fourth generation to an end after just one month.

The Frostfang Serpents officially opened on June 14, 2026, led by Chessguy and Kmart. The army reached a max of two at its opening event and had formed alliances with Steam Empire and Businessman of CP before opening, though both alliances later ended. Chessguy hopes to eventually break into the Top Ten and build the army into a role model for other Small/Medium armies.

The Fire Warriors announced their revival on May 27, 2026, with AustinFraud bringing the army back after five years of inactivity. Their opening event on June 19 had 13 attendees, giving the new generation a decent start. The army is looking to bring back the spirit of its 2021–2022 generation while building its size and getting involved in tournaments. With such a well-known name returning to CPA, it will be interesting to see how far this generation can go.

The Zenith Order opened its doors on June 20, 2026, marking another new army entering the CPA community. The army also quickly formed two alliances with the Iron Confederation of Club Penguin and Pizzaioli of Club Penguin and is now looking to build up its ranks, take part in events, and establish itself among the other Small/Medium armies.

The Pontian Warriors officially opened on July 26, 2026, under the leadership of Xusi and Nameless. As a colony of the Shadow Legionnaires, the army now looks to grow its ranks and establish itself within the CPA community.

The Masked Bandits officially entered the CPA community on August 2, 2026, with Sweater and Justin leading the army. Their opening event was a strong start, with the new army looking to grow and make an impact in the community. Since opening, the Masked Bandits have also found early success by invading and claiming several pieces of land. They have also allied with the Fire Warriors.

On August 2, 2026, the Restricted Very Violent Disney Abolished Snuggle Cats opened as a meme army with morningdew and annabelle at its helm. The army maxed 4 at their opening event. Later, the army rebranded into the Snuggle Cats. However, the army met its end in the same month, failing to make any diplomatic connections or battle.

With the first half of 2026 bringing a wave of new armies into the community, it is difficult to predict how many more are yet to open this year. While some are still finding their footing, others have already started building their presence through events, alliances, and growth. However, there are many new armies that have fallen, too. Only time will tell which of these new names will become a lasting part of CPA history. What are your thoughts on this year so far in CPA?
