May was still a very active month and for some, an absolute mayhem. The Aura Era began with a bunch of new armies coming to the scene, while others departed quickly. It was the month of the first ever Multilogging Mayhem and also the beginning of the third edition of the Around the World Cup tournament.

In the same way as the previous months, the Club Penguin Armies community came together and voted on their Top 5 Moments for May via polls in the Discord server. Following the pace established in April, a total of 25 moments were put up to vote, only 2 less than last month.

#5 – MOON AND SWEATER PROMOTED TO DEPUTY HEAD JUDGES

On May 15, Club Penguin Army Judges (CPAJ) kicked off a new era by promoting community veterans Moon and Sweater to the position of Deputy Head Judges, a strategic move aimed at revitalizing the judging system and preparing the next generation of leadership for a busy summer. Both individuals bring extensive leadership experience to the roles, with Moon having steered the Templars through major conflicts and Sweater having successfully led the People’s Imperial Confederation. The new duo, which will help the current 4 Head Judges, outlined their vision for the future: while Moon aims to implement fresh structural changes and urges armies to schedule more practice battles, Sweater is fiercely focused on eliminating judge inactivity, promising to make the role more accessible and ensuring that having three judges per battle becomes a guarantee rather than a hopeful wish.

#4 – SHADOW LEGIONARIES GET DEFACED

The month of May was harder than usual for an army. Shadow Legionnaires were victims of a defacement by their former leader during the early hours of May 15, 2026. This came at an especially crucial point in the army path as they were climbing the ranks in the Top Ten. The army initially dropped but has been recovering from the attack and is gradually becoming stronger, securing them the 6th spot in the monthly top ten of May.

#3 – Club Penguin Armies ANNOUNCES AROUND THE WORLD CUP III

Club Penguin Armies has officially announced the return of Around the World Cup, a week-long tournament that will challenge participating armies across multiple time zones. Featuring both Major and Small/Medium divisions, the competition begins with a round-robin group stage before culminating in the Grand Finals. With a strong lineup of armies set to compete and the possibility of a qualifier round, the event promised an exciting start to the summer season for the Club Penguin Army community.

#2 – mULTILOGGING MAYHEM CONCLUDES

Multilogging Mayhem easily secured its spot as one of the top moments of May by turning one of the community’s most infamous controversies (tabbing and multi-accounting) into a highly anticipated, satirical tournament. Orchestrated by the administration in collaboration with CPA: Battleground staff, the event hilariously leaned into the chaos by introducing a “Mandatory Multilogging” rule, forcing four teams (Pink, Purple, Yellow, and Cyan) to deploy at least 10 standardized alt accounts per battle. While the tournament aimed to provide a stark, visual demonstration of how multilogging unfairly skews battle dynamics, it ultimately sparked widespread community engagement. Ending with Team Yellow claiming victory, the event left a lasting impression, leaving the community divided on whether it was a strokes-of-genius piece of entertainment or a dangerous normalization of tabbing.

#1 – Club Penguin Armies AURA ERA BEGINS

On May 3, 2026, Club Penguin Armies released an executive statement announcing the beginning of the Aura Era of CPA. After the most stable period in CPA administration following 315 days, changes were made in the administration. Editor-in-Chief Kira and CPA developer df44 were announced as the newest Executive Producers. With both of them having extensive experience within the army community, the administration showed itself excited about the future of the league. Alongside this, a complete revamp of the Social Media department was also announced, with William being appointed as the new head. Dino was also welcomed to the Advisory Board, aiming to share his extensive knowledge with the administration. The administration also announced new Summer Activities, focused on the 20th anniversary of CPA as a whole, including community events organized with the help of the Community Committee. With the help of the new administrators, CPA aims to raise the bar even higher and help the entire community grow and witness great things.

As we walk more closely to the beginning of the summer and towards the second half of the year, we can already see the community shifting to get ready. With the Around the World Cup tournament already over, will armies start preparing for what could be one of the biggest editions of the Legends Cup?
