After multiple turns of unforeseen events, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin have emerged from the ashes. As a new chapter begins, the Elite Guardians face opportunities and challenges as members work to reclaim their power and strength.
RISE OF A COLONY
The Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, a CPPS era staple, originated as a Nachos colony project in 2016. However, it was officially established on October 19, 2017, as an autonomous army led by S/M Army Legend Cookky2 and Army Legend Edu14463. Drawing inspiration from the Elite Penguin Force, the army created a distinct look with white uniforms and two divisions: Strikers and Guardians. EGCP quickly climbed to popularity, winning big tournaments including the 2017 Christmas Chaos, and placing third in the 2018 Legends Cup IX. These successes cemented their reputation as a formidable force capable of fighting even major armies such as the Rebel Penguin Federation. Their long history of warfare includes noteworthy campaigns against the Templars and the RPF, demonstrating their strategic ability and unyielding resolve.
Despite their strong trajectory, EGCP had internal issues that forced it to close on January 27, 2020. Leadership’s lack of interest led to a farewell message. Following that, their Discord server was converted into a community hangout, and their region was released, signaling the end of their era. The Guardians’ legacy, however, lived on, since they were known for their strong culture and familial relationships. They were among the first armies to resist the Club Penguin Online CPPS, and they were instrumental in assisting smaller armies via initiatives like the New Viking Alliance. Their effect went beyond fights, as they built a strong and thriving community.
THE RETURN
In May 2023, EGCP made a victorious return, led by new leaders Belga, Fitsuki, Joshep, and Lass. Their re-opening event on Club Penguin Army Battleground drew an incredible 32 attendees, reigniting their prominence in the army community. Since then, the EGCP has regained its status as a major army, topping the monthly Top Ten charts and partaking in key wars. Their campaigns have included battles against armies such as SWAT and participation in World War IX as members of the Blue Sunset Alliance. Beyond battle, EGCP has broadened its cultural footprint by reopening its international division and establishing a community university to teach English, army basics, and Club Penguin history. EGCP continued to grow as a symbol of solidarity, resilience, and quality in the army community, guided by their devoted leaders.
THE PRIME ERA
The Elite Guardians have a long history of conflict with well-known forces such as the Underground Mafias Army Templars, and Rebel Penguin Federation. Their notable participation in World War VII, as well as good performances in competitions such as reaching the finals of the 2018 Christmas Chaos, were critical in increasing their status in the community. These early triumphs helped build EGCP’s reputation as a powerful force. However, following their 2020 halt, the army experienced a time of uncertainty.
Despite the obstacles of their shutdown, EGCP resurfaced in 2023, immediately regaining influence and rekindling their competitive spirit. They reappeared through a series of high-profile wars, most notably a lengthy and severe conflict with the Army of Club Penguin. EGCP’s resolve was on display as they fought many fights against diverse armies, including the Winged Hussars. Their success continued with a big victory in the 2024 Around The World Cup, firmly establishing them as one of the community’s top armies.
Despite these victories, EGCP has faced substantial challenges along the way, most notably Operation Caesar. The long and exhausting war against ACP taxed their endurance, with approximately 104 battles conducted between the two forces. This war, coupled with the long-standing rivalry between the two, demonstrated both their successes and the challenges of remaining relevant in a continually changing environment. Nonetheless, the Guardians’ fortitude and ability to adapt to changing conditions have kept them at the top of the competitive army field.
the DOWNFALL
A mutiny, allegedly backed by Fitsuki’s supporters, led to the takeover of the EGCP website, plunging the army’s leadership into turmoil. On October 22, the founders announced a temporary pause, citing the loss of website authority and internal strife. Both Fitsuki and the Consulate accused each other of exploiting the crisis, claiming responsibility for the army’s instability. While both sides argued their actions were to protect the army, the closure marked a major setback for a group once celebrated for its success. Amid the chaos, EGCP’s founding fathers declared its closure.
ARMY REVIVAL
S/M Army Legend SavageCobra announced the formal return of EGCP on January 4, 2025. Following EGCP’s closure in October 2024 due to unfavourable circumstances, the leadership returned to the army with a completely new generation of leaders. This new generation of EGCP aims to fix previous problems, strengthen the community, and ultimately bring about the golden period that EGCP has always aspired to.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to EGCP representatives Thunder222 and Lass to discuss their plans for the army.
What are your main goals for the EGCP moving forward after its rebirth?
Thunder: Get EGCP back to its legs, clearing our names after Fitsuki’s idiotic dictatorship decisions and his temper tantrums, and expect our progress to pay off.
Lass: The most obvious goal, is success. But, alongside that, keep our community tight and restore the flame of the EGCP spirit.
How do you plan to rebuild trust and morale within the army after the internal conflicts?
Thunder: we’ll see how it goes, we’re mostly focused on rebuilding ourselfs and carring of our troops, we dont care about anything else, just ourselfs.
Lass: We still have our bonds with the former members despite what happened. And, we plan to rebuild the rest of our trust in the best way possible, by being a better army.
What can the community expect from EGCP in the coming months?
Thunder: Slowly climbing back to it’s major army status
Lass: Anything.
What lessons has the leadership earned from EGCP’s past difficulties that will be planned to be applied in the future?
Thunder: don’t have couples run your army
Lass: The biggest one is to make the army less bureaucratic, which turned into a big issue in our last generation. We should indeed work towards being the best, but armies should not be similar to a job. And, the most important one, never let power get to your head.
What do you hope EGCP will accomplish in the next few months under your leadership?
Thunder: Winning, Sorte Vivve, and making others wrong.
Lass: To win.
With their revival, the Elite Guardians plan to restore the honour of their Nacho ancestry, ensuring the legacy of their journey from beginners to conquerors remains a guiding force for the future. This monumental rebirth represents not just a return, but also a dedication to preserving the principles, values, and spirit that distinguished their golden age. As they embark on this new chapter, EGCP seeks to combine past lessons with daring future goals, ensuring that their enduring legacy remains a cornerstone of their operations. Will EGCP reclaim its place among the greats, turning their revival into a new era of triumph?
