BACKGROUND

CREATION OF DORITOS OF CLUB PENGUIN

Wwebestfan created Doritos of Club Penguin in February 2010. The army quickly became one of the most prominent armies. Consequently, their first successful campaign consisted of a close war against the Army of Club Penguin. The next couple of years saw DCP reach their first number-one placement on Club Penguin Army Central’s Top Ten.

EARLY CONFLICTS BETWEEN DORITOS AND ICE WARRIORS

On the other hand, success also brought the Doritos into conflict with other armies. By the time of DCP’s creation, Ice Warriors had been around for three years and was a dominant force. As such, the Doritos viewed the Warriors as a threat and raided several of IW’s events in May 2010. Soon after, IW declared war on the Doritos to prove their superiority. The war ended quickly as the Warriors claimed Slushy, Sled, Snowcap, and Icicle from the Doritos. However, Slushy was given back while the Warriors kept the other three servers.

PEACEFUL TIMES

Thereafter, peace existed between the two armies as other armies became more significant threats. In the years after, DCP and IW both experienced varying levels of success as highly influential participants in large-scale wars like World War VI in 2012.

MARCH/APRIL 2015 WAR

REASONS FOR CONFLICT

By 2015, Doritos recovered from a period of poor performance as they dominated the community. At the same time, Ice Warriors rivaled the Nachos in terms of how successful they were in tournaments such as Legends Cup and March Madness. Consequently, DCP’s defeat in MM and raids of each other’s events contributed to DCP’s declaration on IW in March 2015.

EVENTS OF THE WAR

INVASIONS OF SUMMIT, ASCENT, FREEZER, & BIG SURF

The war began with IW’s invasion of Summit which resulted in an automatic victory for the Warriors. IW reached 49 penguins as they achieved the first victory of the war. Next, both armies claimed victory after DCP invaded IW’s Ascent. Finally, IW defeated Doritos in a defense of Freezer with 31 penguins.

INVASIONS OF BIG SURF AND HOCKEY

Next, DCP no-showed at IW’s invasion of Big Surf as the Warriors maxed 17 penguins. Following Doritos’ no-show, IW defeated Doritos during DCP’s invasion of Hockey with higher sizes.

INVASIONS OF ICE CREAM, CRYSTAL, SNOW BALL, & SOUTH POLE

On the same day, IW maxed 35-40 penguins at their successful defense of Ice Cream. In the next battle, both armies claimed victory in the invasion of Crystal by the Doritos. Next, IW successfully pushed Doritos back from Snow Ball with 30 penguins. Moving on, DCP successfully invaded South Pole from the Ice Warriors. During the next battle, Doritos rode the momentum from their win to draw with the Warriors on Mountain.

INVASIONS OF SNOWCAP, SLEET, TUNDRA, SUB ZERO, & FOG

Consequently, the Warriors defended Snowcap as they maxed a size of 41 penguins. Simultaneously, IW successfully invaded Sleet with 25 penguins. In the meantime, IW successfully defended Tundra with 14 troops. Additionally, IW succeeded at defending Sub Zero with higher sizes than DCP. Lastly, IW defeated the Doritos as they claimed DCP’s Fog.

INVASIONS OF YUKON, WALRUS, PARKA, & FROSTBITE

In another defense, IW defended Yukon after DCP failed to show up. Likewise, IW successfully invaded Walrus with 12 penguins. Soon after, IW conquered Parka from DCP as they brought 34 troops into battle. Lastly, IW claimed victory in their invasion of Frostbite with 15 penguins.

INVASIONS OF ICE PALACE, SNOW FORT, ICE BREAKER, & ICE AGE

On the same day, IW’s invasion of Ice Palace resulted in an easy victory with a Doritos no-show. Next, IW successfully defended Snow Fort from the Doritos. Moving on, IW defeated the Doritos in an invasion of Ice Breaker. Lastly, DCP did not show up at IW’s invasion of Ice Age.

EXPANSION OF TERRITORY FOR BOTH ARMIES

The Warriors continued their success with a no-show from DCP on Icicle. On the other hand, IW’s no-shows to DCP’s invasions of Frozen and Polar Bear secured the Doritos an automatic win. Additionally, DCP acquired Snowmobile from IW’s forfeit. However, the Warriors’ tie with Doritos on Cold Front ensured the latter kept their server. Next, IW and Doritos both claimed victory in IW’s invasion of Big Snow. Following a divisive battle, the Doritos stole back their capital server of Summit from the Warriors with sizes of 70 penguins. In the next battle, both armies claimed victory in IW’s invasion of Deep Snow. Lastly, IW defeated Doritos on Snow Angel.

CONTINUATION OF THE WAR

Moreover, IW acquired Alaska, Glacier, Ice Bound, Oyster, Bunny Hill, and Jackhammer from DCP no-shows. Additionally, another DCP no-show secured the Warriors the server of White House. After the White House invasion, IW withdrew from the war in a post that accused DCP of multilogging. As such, they refused to attend any further invasions by DCP and withdrew from the war. In response, DCP continued invading IW’s servers such as Sub Zero and Great White. Subsequently, DCP raided IW’s events to pressure the Warriors to fight them. Additionally, the Doritos claimed IW no-showed many of the previous invasions. As IW left the war, the war ended with no decisive conclusion as neither claimed the other’s capital. Both armies declared victory in the war which resulted in unfinished business that resulted in raids of each other’s events. Finally, tensions built further as raids continued over the next several months.

SEPTEMBER 2015 WAR

Similarly, there were no-shows from both armies. For example, DCP successfully invaded Tundra, Half Pipe, and Sub Zero. On the other hand, the Warriors took Skates and Oyster from the Doritos. Essentially, no real battles happened during the war as both armies easily acquired land from the other. Finally, IW surrendered the war and made a deal with DCP for certain servers. As a compromise, DCP received 50% control of Big Surf, Alpine, Great White, Beanie, Flippers, Snow Shoe, and Rocky Road. On the other hand, Below Zero and Half Pipe went to the Doritos while DCP gave Sub Zero and Tundra back to the Warriors. Therefore, DCP won the war in a similar way as the earlier war ended. Lastly, IW and DCP did not face each other in a one-on-one war again until the Club Penguin Private Servers era.

CPPS WARS

RETURN ON CLUB PENGUIN ONLINE

Firstly, DCP and IW both shut down when Club Penguin closed in March 2017. However, the establishment of Club Penguin Online Army League in 2018 offered a stable environment for many armies to come back. Consequently, both armies came back a year later in late 2019. By early 2020, they were two of the most successful armies in the league. For instance, Doritos tied with Dark Warriors for the Christmas Chaos crown. At the same time, DCP defeated IW in one of the largest battles ever with massive sizes of 150+ penguins during the March Madness semi-finals. The controversial nature of the battle resulted in further conflict to take place throughout 2020.

JANUARY 2020 WAR

While both armies grew, IW declared war on DCP with The Warriors Alliance that included DW. The three armies were in the top five of the CPOAL Top Ten at the time. DCP defeated the alliance in the first war battle on Frosty. Likewise, DCP achieved victory in their defense of Frosty with 60 troops. Furthermore, DCP claimed victory in their defense of Frosty as they had higher sizes. Next, DCP faced IW on Slushy with no clear winner. Finally, the war ended as no army came out on top.

ALLIANCE WAR

BACKGROUND OF WAR

After a couple of months of peace, DCP declared war on TWA in April 2020. The reasons included the participation of IW and their allies in invasions of DCP’s land and disagreements over the MM results. IW successfully invaded DCP’s Icicle only a day before the official declaration. Additionally, DCP was closely allied with the International United Armies alliance. IUA consisted of several former and current Small/Medium armies such as Aliens of Club Penguin and Athletes throughout its history. These armies had tense relations with IW as the Warriors aimed to expand their territory. Consequently, DCP’s efforts put smaller armies under the army’s protection for the foreseeable future.

BATTLE RESULTS

The first official battle took place on Tuxedo as DCP unsuccessfully attempted to invade the server. Next, TWA successfully invaded Grizzly from DCP. In a change of fortunes, DCP acquired Brumby with 129 penguins. Finally, the war ended with IW’s transfer of their land to S/M armies. These armies included Miners, Rangers, and Sinners. Due to the land transfers, Doritos considered themselves the winners of the war. Peace only lasted for a couple of months before war resumed between the two.

FINAL DCP-IW WAR

After CPO’s closure, the formation of the Black Ice Alliance in July 2020 contributed to further tensions. Rebel Penguin Federation, DW, and IW formed new relations as all armies were finally unified under one league. Soon after, BIA declared war on DCP in a short-lived war that ended fairly quickly. Moreover, the new version of the New Dawn Alliance did not last long after DCP’s closest valuable ally, ACP, left after allegations were made against DCP. After these events, DCP lost all invasions against the strength of BIA. The only battle that happened between IW and DCP was IW’s invasion of Rocky Road. Following DCP’s defeat, the army withdrew from the community until their shutdown in late 2020. Lastly, the BIA-DCP war was the final conflict between DCP and IW.

Conclusion

Throughout their history, both armies influenced army relations through their intense rivalry. While both armies shut down, their participation in important historical alliances can still be seen in how armies align themselves today. Additionally, their long-lasting feud displayed how success contributed to some of the greatest conflicts in CPA history. Without these disagreements, the landscape of armies would be very different. What do you think of the DCP-IW rivalry? How do you think army alliances would be without these two armies’ interference?
