Water Vikings Sink To Small/Medium

Despite their victory in Round One of the ongoing Legends Cup tournament, the Water Vikings have dropped from the major to small-medium classification. This is not surprising after facing two leader retirements last month.

It has only been a few months since their win in March Madness IX, and the Water Vikings are seemingly going downhill. After a close battle against the Rebel Penguin Federation, the underdog Vikings outnumbered the Rebels and took home the trophy. This was yet another historic win for the Vikings, taking the community by surprise after their impressive performance in the tournament. During the Grand Finals, the Vikings maxed out 61 penguins online, outnumbering the 51 Rebels.

This victory was preceded by their conquer of Christmas Chaos XIII in December 2023. These two achievements paved the way for the Water Vikings a force to be reckoned with within the community. However, it appears that their moments of success were only temporary.

Shortly after their second major tournament victory, the Water Vikings gained some confidence and on April 7th they declared war on the Templars. After weeks of intense fighting, the conflict known as the Sluttpådawn War concluded, with the Templars reigning victorious.

Soon after their defeat, they were declared war upon by the Army of Club Penguin. This was the Forlosning War, lasting over two weeks and many intense battles, concluding with a Water Vikings victory. However, this was not the end of the army’s conflicts. On June 10th, the Elite Guardians declared war on the Vikings, this time as a “fun” war. The war lasted less than a week and ended with an Elite Guardians victory.

Following three exhausting wars, last month the Vikings faced two leader retirements. After almost two years of leading, on June 8th, Dino, former Water Vikings leader announced he would be stepping down immediately following a long leave of absence. On June 13th, Rye Bread took the helm as a leader of the Vikings after two months of serving in the army. Then, two days later, Cabin announced his retirement as a commander.

After these events, the Vikings went on to have fewer sizes during their events, even failing to host any during a full week. This succession of unfortunate events led to their subsequent reclassification.

Dropping to the small/medium classification right during a tournament can be quite concerning for the army. Therefore, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Water Vikings leader Mei to learn their thoughts about the classification drop.

How do you feel about dropping to the small/medium classification?

We of course feel bad about it but we know we can regain the major status with enough effort.

Will this affect your performance in the ongoing Legends Cup tournament?

I don’t feel that this status will affect our performance as we are still the same army we were before and we are capable of achieving a lot.

How do you plan for the Water Vikings to bounce back as a powerful major army?

Recruiting more, better hype, and fixing the stuff we didn’t take proper care of before.

It seems that the Vikings are not too concerned about the classification drop. After three tiring wars and two leader retirements, it is not a shock that the army needs time to adjust. Will the Vikings turn out successful in the Legends Cup tournament? How long will it take them to regain major status?
