The first round of March Madness IX has concluded after eight armies fought for a chance to progress to the Semi-Finals, next weekend. Day one started with the Army of Club Penguin taking on the Special Weapons and Tactics. Following this, Help Force and Water Vikings collided in an intense battle. The second day saw two more battles take place with the Elite Guardians battling the People’s Imperial Confederation, and Penguins of Madagascar facing the Rebel Penguin Federation.

Army of Club Penguin vs. Special Weapons and Tactics

The first battle of this round was the Army of Club Penguin vs. Special Weapons and Tactics. The Army of Club Penguin successfully won all three rooms, as they managed to cover the Agents. The size difference between the two armies exceeded 20+ penguins on the Clovers’ side. This enabled them to gain the win with ease. Their choice of tactics and formations also helped them win all three rooms, pushing them into the Semi-Finals.

Winner – Army of Club Penguin

Help Force vs. Water Vikings

Following a much-predicted battle from the Clovers and Agents, this battle was one that members of the community looked forward to. Both of the armies had similar sizes, choices of tactics, and formations seeing an intense battle take place. Despite both armies giving it their all in one of the closest battles thus far, there could only be one winner. The armies were able to grab a tie second room, but the first and last room went to the Water Vikings. As stated in the judges’ summary, both armies had similar sizes, but the Vikings overtook the Help Force in rooms one and three due to their choice of forms and movements. This ultimately helped them to take the win, pushing them into the Semi-Finals.

Winner – Water Vikings

Elite Guardians vs. People’s Imperial Confederation

The following day started with the Elite Guardians battling the People’s Imperial Confederation. These two armies are no strangers to battling each other. Both have been involved in multiple wars, leading to the heated Quarter-Finals battle that was about to take place. As these two faced off against each other once more, the Guardians won all three rooms as their size was too big to overcome, allowing them to cover throughout the battles. This win secured the Guardians’ place in the Semi-Finals.

Winner – Elite Guardians

Penguins of Madagascar vs. Rebel Penguin Federation

As for the final battle of the Quarter-Finals, the community watched as the Penguins of Madagascar and Rebel Penguin Federation faced off against each other for a spot in the next round. In all three rooms, POM had a major disadvantage due to their massive usage of big word bubbles and their lack of size. Ultimately, this gave RPF the advantage, allowing them to sweep all three rooms, securing them the last spot in the Semi-Finals.

Winner – Rebel Penguin Federation

The first round of the March Madness IX tournament has now concluded. Four armies are set to face off against each other in the Semi-Finals next week. Only two can go through to the Finals. Two titanic clashes will occur as we are set to see a sequel of the Christmas Chaos Semi-Finals. The Army of Club Penguin will take on the Water Vikings and the Elite Guardians will battle the Rebel Penguin Federation. Will we see a repeat of the Christmas Chaos Semi-Finals? Will a new chapter be written for one of these armies? Who will come out on top?
