December Activity Recap

Last December, we wrapped up a yet another year of winter festivities at thanks to the hard work of the Community Committee. Before the first month of the New Year is over, let’s recap those special moments.

Bracketology

December brought back a beloved tournament, Christmas Chaos XIII, and the Community Committee brought back a tradition started by DMT, bracketology. This year’s Christmas Chaos was one of the most fun to watch yet with the Water Vikings taking home the trophy. However, this did not favor the community’s brackets as no one predicted the Water Viking would win. This year we had a four way tie for the bracket winners with AustinFraud, Fourless, Guta, and Jojo Teri all having 15 points each. Since there can only be one winner, it was decided by a wheel spin. This tournaments official bracketology winner was AustinFraud.

Igloo Contest

An event never before seen in Club Penguin Armies, an igloo contest. Community members were challenged to create a festive holiday igloo on Club Penguin Journey. Since the organization has never used another private server outside of Battleground, this was a momentous occasion. This contest lasted from December 15 to December 26 where five esteemed judges chose their top three winners, and the community was able to vote for their winner. Here are those results:

  1. Lirri entitled “Frozen Bubble Igloo Party”
  2. Mare entitled “Holiday Theme Park”
  3. Spotty entitled “Christmas Village”
  4. Community Choice: Ideological entitled “The Wonderful Igloo”

Our winner

All the winners were handed their awards, including a new soundboard sound thanks to Mare. Congratulations to all of the superb decorators.

Holiday Grams

One of the community’s favorite traditions are the “grams” that occur every so often during holidays. This gave people the chance to send messages, anonymous or not, to a special someone who is in the server. It was a large success with 188 grams being sent.

Winter Wonderland Gala

Following the Winter Awards, the Community Committee hosted the Winter Wonderland Gala. The theme of the Gala was “Naughty or Nice.” Per usual, the task given to the community was to come best dressed in theme. While there were no official winners, there were some amazing costumes put out on display as we danced the night away (well, at least until Christmas Chaos XIII Grand Finals).

Cart Surfer

Finally, to round out the rest of the activities, the Community Committee held a Cart Surfer contest on Battleground. Although not many decided to participate, those that did were competitively driven, resubmitting their scores as fast as they could to come out on top. In the end, Matt from Elite Guardians was the mighty victor.

These are only a few of the joyful events. This past holiday season will be one to remember for a long time. Club Penguin Armies hopes everyone had just as much fun as we did! What were some of your favorite memories from December?
