Origin
The Bastille Vanguard was founded on November 2, 2024, by Vitorwin, Aucraia, and Seila. Following internal disputes within the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, the then staff members broke away to pursue their own imperial ventures. As EGCP proceeded to shut down over the following weeks, the Vanguard became a sanctuary for former Guardians seeking a new army. The Bastillians experienced a surge of activity, achieving over one hundred members in their Discord within a week of opening. Maxing twenty penguins at their opening event, the community highly anticipated their pathway ahead.

Gaining Progress
As the generation progressed, the Vanguard paved its way through the community. Momentum and growth became evident as the Bastillian rose from tenth to sixth in the Top Ten in just a few weeks. Securing a strong finish to the year, the Vanguard marched into the quarterfinals of Christmas Chaos XIV to face the Rebel Penguin Federation. While this clash resulted in defeat, the run solidified the Vanguard as one of the tournament’s top contenders.

Following their growing relevance, the Vanguard caught the attention of Major armies in the community. Consequently, their capabilities were put to the test when the Army of Club Penguin declared war in February of 2025. Despite the stacked odds, the Bastillians emerged from the conflict stronger than ever. By forming long-lasting alliances with the Templars and the Blizzard Battalion, its influence continued to spread throughout the army community.

NOW?
With an impressive legacy now behind it, the Bastille Vanguard ceased operations in August of 2025, shortly after the full retirement of creator Aucraia. Breaking their silence, a new leadership finally announced its return on October 10th, planning a revival event for later in the month. Led by Ayeeti, Turtel, Reyzel, Aven, and Veirzal, the Vanguard held their opening event on October 31st. Their return was highly anticipated, securing a size of twenty-seven penguins in attendance.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Bastille Vanguard leader Reyzel to learn more about the army’s reopening.
The return of the Bastille Vanguard has already excited many. What prompted TBV to return for a second generation?
I was talking with Vitorwin (TBV Creator) about nostalgia for the past, especially the armies we served in together, until TBV joined the conversation and I said Why not revive this?
What are you most excited for this generation? Do you have any goals or ambitions?
What makes me happiest about this revival is the new troops that have joined us. Of course, there are many ambitions and goals we intend to achieve, but we want to start slowly. The first step is to become a Major Army.
Is there anything the Vanguard has learned from the past generation that you are bringing into the new era?
Culture-wise, even though I’ve internalized the community, the main focus will always be the Brazilian community, although we will always value all foreigners, EU, Ausia, etc.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.
As the Bastille Vanguard marches into a new era, many look forward to potential successes on the horizon. With a brand new team keeping the Bastille dream alive, their shared passion is evident. Consequently, only time will reveal whether this iteration of the Vanguard will surpass the heights of its previous generation. As their journey unfolds, Club Penguin Armies wishes TBV the best of luck! What do you think of this revival? Do you have high hopes for this generation of the Bastille Vanguard? Will this upcoming generation live up to the success of its first?
