Less than a week after the Force Treaty of the Crescent Dawn lifted its restrictions on Templarian conflict, the army wages war once more. In this post, we examine the declaration of war in lieu of the Templars’ new crusade.

GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM
On October 22, the Templars declared war against the Aliens following the armies’ alliance shattering on September 9. Titling the war the “Siderian Crusade,” the crusaders make their stance clear on the defending army, criticizing their passive and non-combatant style, the decision to renege on a plotted Legends Cup XVI disturbance, and the fundamental belief that “wars and competition are FUN.” The war terms delineate the war as a 1-on-1 war, similar to their previous conflict, the Exterminatio Sanguisugarum, or Crescent Dawn War. Likewise, the Club Penguin Armies World Map, an independent map organization, will host the conflict’s battles.

The Templars’ war terms against the Aliens in the Siderian Crusade
Sidie9‘s declaration comes less than a week after the effects of the Force Treaty of the Crescent Dawn were lifted from the Templars. The Dark Warriors‘ defensive victory against TCP in the aforementioned mid-September war resulted in the crusaders’ removed presence from the Club Penguin Armies map. While this force treaty only applied to any offensive against DW, a significant TCP cooling period would occur. During this time, the Club Penguin Armies World Map would reopen. Thanks to its reopening, the Aliens would obtain two freeland servers, naming them Whiteout and Shamone, respectively. However, Sidie’s Rangers, a troll army, would begin a firestorm of freeland invasions.

WE’RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER SPACESHIP
Capturing a total of eight servers under Sidie’s Rangers, the army would engage in “Operation: Troy.” This operation would see the troll army gain a significant map presence before ultimately donating all of the servers to the Templars, pursuant to their war declaration. Afterwards, the Templars scheduled three invasions on the same night alongside their official declaration post: two on October 23 (six hours apart from each other), and one on October 24. Of these battles, only the second one is a map invasion.

Overall, the war declaration sits between the context of the Aliens’ newfound presence on the map and the Templars’ recent loss against the Dark Warriors. Being on CPAWM, the armies wage war within a newly opened battlefront in the community. While the Aliens have largely found themselves sitting outside of conflict and recent tournaments, the Templars have faced recent losses that loom over the conflict. This war presents new fronts and new opportunities for both armies.
In order to learn more, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Sidie9, Templars Empress, and Sheriff, Aliens Starship Admiral, to highlight their perspectives leading into the war. Sheriff did not respond.
SIDIE9’S INTERVIEW
Do you feel this war was inevitable, given the Templars’ position against their former allies?
No, this war is only happening because we made it happen. Aliens thought they would escape any meaningful conflict by evading CPA’s map. We had to covertly make our way onto CPAWM to make this war a reality. Aliens can run wherever they like, they won’t escape.
This war comes right after a loss versus the Dark Warriors. Do you plan to do anything differently this time?
We worked hard for the Dark Warriors war and, even though they benefitted from hiring a bunch of chronic TCP haters, we certainly underestimated them. That isn’t a mistake that will happen again.
Where do Sidie’s Rangers fall into the plans preceding this war?
Operation: Troy conducted by Sidie’s Rangers allowed us to enter CPAWM without the Aliens becoming scared and running for the hills at the sight of Templars expansion. This war would not have been possible without Sidie’s Rangers.
Do you have any comments for the army community?
If Aliens want to be an army so badly, now they can prove it.
As one war’s consequences end for the Templars, they find themselves once again on the battlefield. Will the Templars find newfound success in this war? How will both armies fare on the new battlefield? Will the Aliens disprove the Templars’ bold claims of excessive passivity?
