Army of Club Penguin Celebrates 20th Anniversary

In 2006, the first modern army was founded, and a few days ago it celebrated its twentieth anniversary. Let’s take a look at the army’s history over the past 20 years.

FOUNDATION

Oagalthorp founded the Army of Club Penguin on September 29, 2006. The army is one of the most recognizable names in the army community, with several leaders in the past 2 decades. It served as a beacon for others trying to create official armies and was the first of its kind. Clans and other pre-army groups existed, but ACP remains the first recognized army. ACP leaders often went on to lead and create other armies, becoming holistic army legends in their own right. It’s harder to name leaders who aren’t widely remembered than those who are. This year, they won March Madness and Around the World Cup III and broke records no one else had before in its history. Today, Daniel and Roxy lead the army, and they’ve continued its legacy for more than a year together.

20 YEARS CELEBRATION

Celebrating two decades of the Clovers required a special 20-year event. ACP decided to hold it slightly before the official anniversary on Sunday, September 27, 2026. They advertised this event to the entire community, even to those with no relation to ACP. Because this didn’t overlap with any other events, almost everyone aware of the wider Club Penguin army community joined in. Club Penguin Army Battleground couldn’t fit everyone in one room, with 218 penguins logged on. As a result, they had to count the max over a lockout room as well, one of the few times this was required. With this size came a different top-ten position, with over 100 top-ten points and, specifically, a 107.7 US/UK size average.

To know more about the feelings of the leaders, Club Penguin Armies decided to interview their leader, Daniel, to share his feelings

How do you feel right now as your army celebrates its 20th anniversary?

Daniel: It felt like an incredible privilege to lead through it!

What does ACP have planned for the future?

Daniel: Winning and having fun

What was the most shocking thing at the anniversary event?

Daniel: The support we got from the community. It was incredible to be able to celebrate alongside everyone. That and also breaking the record for the biggest event of all time. We also had a couple of ACP legends show up and give their thoughts, it filled my heart.

Now that the army holds the record for the most-attended event ever, how do you feel?

Daniel: At the moment it was so hype, people who were in voice chat knew that I was out of words. Now thats it’s been a couple of days it doesn’t feel that crazy, we have other goals to hit and more projects we want to carry out so our eyes are set on that, not in the past.

The CPA20 celebration is over, and so have the 20th-year celebrations. However, ACP is clearly looking ahead, with new goals and even higher barriers to break. What do you think about ACP’s celebration? Will ACP continue to meet expectations and stay at the forefront of Club Penguin army records for years to come?
