On September 5, the army community witnessed another new army joining the fray. In this post, we will learn about the recent events involving the Cult of Tung and its subsequent merger into another army.
Army’s Opening Event
The Cult of Tung, led by Annabelle and Zall, held its opening event on September 5, which saw a total of five penguins online. The army likely intends to be a meme army, in the same vein as the recently formed Zara Larmy or the long-lasting Wii Phone Army.

Annie’s journey started off in May 2026, when she first joined the Shadow Legionnaires, and would eventually transfer over to the Pontian Warriors. In July, Annabelle joined the Masked Bandits, before transitioning to the United Republic of Penguins through late August. She would eventually open up the Cult of Tung the following month, whilst also being dual-enlisted into the Fire Vikings.
Zall’s journey in Club Penguin Armies started off much earlier than his co-leader’s, where he would join the army community in December 2024 as a troop in Templars of Club Penguin. His journey with the Templars was short-lived, as he would eventually join the Doritos of Club Penguin. Not too long after joining the Doritos, Zall joined the Fire Vikings under the leadership of Onyx and YellowTyper, and would rise up the ranks into leadership within the Fire Vikings. Throughout his journey past this point, he would rejoin the Templars as Staff-In-Training under Echo, Moon, and Billy’s leadership in June 2025, but this would fall short as he would later join the Water Vikings. His positions within the army communities past his previous ones fluctuated, as he would find himself in various other armies, but would eventually open up the Zall of Club Penguin in January 2026.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Annie to learn more about the Cult of Tung within their opening.
What motivated you to open your army?
My hate for the current majors
Can the community expect your army to be participating in a tournament in the near future?
no i would probably get assassinated by rpf
Declaration of War
Just a few days later, on September 8, the Boxmen of Boxland declared war on the Cult of Tung and scheduled a battle for September 10. The Boxmen won after the Cult of Tung failed to meet the requirement of at least 5 penguins online.

The Merge
Soon after their opening, the Boxmen and the Cult of Tung agreed to a relatively equal treaty that recognized the Boxmen as the official winners of the war. Other terms, due to the mostly meme nature, were not necessarily carried out. Then, on September 15, Anna, a leader of the Cult of Tung, announced their merger with the Boxmen, issuing the following statement as their reasoning.
because box taste better than tung

Boxmen enforcing a treaty

Cult of Tung accepting
Soon after the merge, Annabelle announced to the army’s Discord server, confirming the merger with the Boxmen, setting a short-lived end to the era of the Cult of Tung.
In a final interview, Club Penguin Armies sat down with Annabelle once more to learn about the merger with the Boxman, and the future for the Cult of Tung.
What led to the Cult of Tung’s merge with the Boxmen of Boxland?
box berry goode
Could the community see a return for the Cult of Tung?
no my next army is gonna be power of friendship
Any last comments to the community?
you all my pawns and fuck thunder hes a pederas bokluk
In conclusion, the Cult of Tung has had quite a journey, losing a war just a few days after its opening and then merging with the Boxmen. It is clear however that the Cult of Tung does not plan to make a return to the community following this merge. Do you think the Cult of Tung made the right choice to merge? What do you think will happen now with the Boxmen?
