A Look Into The Past
February 5, 2023. The developers never pressed the green button; the project was never launched, and Club Penguin Journey was never released to the world. It would still be sitting in a folder on a computer somewhere in the world.
Along the way, Club Penguin Armies was formed back in 2006 with the original Club Penguin, where all you needed was to wear a colour and take part in a snowball fight. Things were much simpler back then. Club Penguin was closed in 2017, and many Club Penguin private servers have opened since then. Armies became increasingly dependent on these new non-commericial games.

But what if CPJ never opened?
Would you still be sitting in front of your screen and be part of an army if Club Penguin Journey took a different route?

Currently, armies fetch a lot of recruits from CPJ as they cut down on the traditional Discord recruiting. Undoubtedly, armies are taking the right advantage of Club Penguin private servers, bringing back the long lost spirit of rogue attendance. While taking a step back, many armies would have not returned from the Club Penguin shutdown. Aliens of Club Penguin might not have seen their revival without CPJ, and maybe Help Force would not be here today, since without the stamp missions you can only turn to Discord recruiting.
In addition, Templars are also hosting a noticeable amount of CPJ events, stepping away from the routine. This is not a wrongdoing, and it clearly shows that every army knows what is best for it. This way, armies keep their operations flowing smoothly.

In addition, Star Force is a prime example of an army on CPJ. Founded by its active leader Fun X Time on June 15, 2025, the army has been well-known for hosting frequent rogue events on Club Penguin Journey — being the first Pride Parade the army ever hosted, in addition to their “Pre-Anniversary Event”, held the weekend before their 1st Anniversary Event. SF continues to host frequent CPJ events.

What About Our Journey?
Do you think that Discord recruiting works better than CPJ recruiting? Is Club Penguin Army Battleground the better alternative for events? If you put time and effort into explaining how it works and get them hooked, it could work easily. However, some people might favor non-army-based CPPS instead since they have a real audience backed by nostalgia.
With the question mark in your eyes, you might be thinking: There are other CPPS, what about them? That is a good question, but the activity of these servers should also be noted. Servers like Club Penguin Legacy and New Club Penguin might not be as engaging as CPJ, and CPJ also receives very frequent updates. Moreover, the Top Ten would probably not require its complicated regulations against rogue events.
Some community members might get bored with CPAB events alone without CPJ. The rate of recruiting across all armies combined would not be lesser than it is right now, and perhaps the end could be approaching. It goes without question that Top Ten scores would be much lesser as armies lose their ability to host rogue events.
Most importantly, you would have not built the many connections you have created with CPJ recruits. Many recruits from CP Journey are now High Command members and even leaders in the army community. Without CP Journey, they would either never find this community, or they would discover it through a different path.
Club Penguin Journey has created a link with many members of the army community. In summary, it has boosted the activity of most armies. While it might just be another CPPS, a lot of different, creative ideas have come to army leaders. If Club Penguin Journey never existed, would you be here? What would the army community appear like without CPJ?
