A loud silence

No news, no papers in the printer, the computer battery half-drained, the banner welcoming new reporters had fallen from the wall. The work slowed down a month prior in the newsrooms when the column stopped going out and when reporters’ heads and editors took all the work from their journalists.

“I was not kidding when I said strike; there are already four of us.”

Reporters’ saying regarding the missing breaking news

While their reporters were gone, the Club Penguin Armies website traded columns for… nothing. The blank pages were once filled with ideas, texts, or comments from reporters, but now? It is drier than the Sahara Desert.

Reportings Head talking in the Reporters’ chat

“I am writing to respectfully request that you consider bringing the ongoing strike to an end. While the concerns that led to the strike may be valid and deserving of attention, its continuation has had a significant impact on the community and the organization as a whole,” wrote Mz. Reporting Head, to the reporters’ representative.

The management of CPA Reporters tried to express sympathy towards their reporters, but couldn’t get them back to work even with promises of future headlines. The booming echo of silence resonates in the press room. No flash, no questions, no sound.

“So they can hear crickets in the reporters’ newsroom instead of us typing on the computers,” said a reporter.

While the associate editors are looking to replace them, they tried to brainstorm, with no great ideas.

“We should just post an empty article,” said Diwix, Head of Reporters, during a meeting.

Empty paper like empty promises, while the reporters’ camp is growing faster than they expected.

“THEY ARE CENSORING US NOW!” a reporter said to another when they saw their messages removed.

While talking to each other about the pressure received from the higher-ups—many threats of being expelled from the building, having their texts thrown away, and being taken over by the editors—it seems to have added fuel to the fire.

BREAKING NEWS: REPORTERS ARE ON STRIKE

Hey, there is the missing title; maybe the Reporting Head stole it from us?

Reporting Head breaking the news

While Reporting Heads are trying to cover the small amount of news, the reporters are on the road, grabbing everyone they can to make them slide to their side and be on the frontline with them against a corrupt system that they are stuck in.

“So we’ve been with no news column for a whole month; we still haven’t received it yet. And editors are taking posts that reporters could have done, so I’m on strike until we get a column,” said a reporter to try to get people on their side.

“Since we are bringing new column content, the first post is done by an editor…” Mz said before they left the building.

The strike kept taking place and making noise, so CEOs had to step in.

“What’s up?” the CEO picked up when the phone rang.

It was with blue luggage, a notepad, and tired eyes that Jojoteri stepped into the office to see what was going on.

Empty offices, phones unplugged, computers left on the desk with nothing on them—the newsroom looked like a zombie apocalypse scene where everything is dead.

“I want you back,” he said on the phone, trying to calm down the strike.

IS IT OVER YET?

Breaking News: Reporters are back in their office. Is it over yet, or is it close to another disaster?

Reporter saying they are on strike

We need you back, reporters! The collapse is at the verge! Is it over? Will reporters go back into their normal state? We sure hope so.
