Yesterday, some members of the army community participated in the Pride Parade. During the event, attendees created memorable moments, flipping another page in the organization’s history.

The Parade
On Sunday, June 14, the Community Committee department from Club Penguin Armies hosted its annual Pride Parade on CPA Battleground. About 20 users showed up to the event taking place on the Rainbow server, in the Casa Fiesta room. Importantly, this number is the lowest in the organization’s history of Pride Parades. It is worth noting that Community Committee Heads Tulip and Zooy spearheaded the Parade, after the event began at 2 PM EST.

The event ended with a fashion show contest an hour later, for which results are yet to arrive. Subsequently, after the event concluded, the Heads announced a 7-day Pride art contest. This contest will finish on Saturday, June 21. On Monday, June 8, the Pride Parade was first announced by Tulip.

The Impact
In 2024, the Pride Parade saw an impressive turnout of 92 users online on CPAB, which was much larger than this year’s turnout. It is worth noting that the later segment of the event took place on Club Penguin Journey, with support from the game’s developer and moderator Drop. When asked for their overall thoughts on this year’s Pride Parade, Heads Tulip and Zooy responded…
Tulip: This was my first time hosting something as a Community Committee Head, and I hope that people enjoyed the event. Pride is a big part of my life as I am apart of the LGBTQIA+ and I deeply respect and love it, and it is awesome to spread more pride and love to the world. Happy Pride Month to everyone, and you’re valid and awesome no matter your sexuality or identity. Also, feel free to do something for our Pride Art Contest, you have until June 21st at 11:59PM EST!!
Zooy: Hosting the pride parade for CPA is always an honor. Although this year’s may have not been the biggest or loudest, I think that speaks to the true meaning of this annual event—it’s a reminder of the daily community we have. We’re all finding ourselves, now and forever, so let’s help each other to do so. Whether it be through the smallest actions of consideration and kindness, or through large spectacles to grow awareness, do the best and most that you can. We’re all penguins in the end. ❤️
We reached out to fellow community members to learn more about their thoughts on the Pride Parade. In addition, we asked them whether the Pride Parade went as expected, and if they believed the turnout was meaningful.
How did the Pride Parade event go for you?
Charlie, Templars: It was boring.
Joonie, Help Force: It was great, its always awesome when we come together to celebrate and highlight a section of our community. We did a lot of tactics and a fashion contest later as well, good engagement!
Lucifer, Help Force: Absolutely splendid, coming together on a penguin game celebrating the spirit of pride is always great.
Do you feel the Pride Parade went as it was expected? What are your thoughts on the number of attendees?
Charlie, Templars: No. And we should get more people
Joonie, Help Force: I think so, the number of attendees was definitely smaller than I expected, probably due to many factors due to which people couldn’t attend. Aside from that, everything was fine.
Lucifer, Help Force: I lowk never saw anything about a event until it was announced in the staff server. 😨 Number of attendees was a bit expected this year, it was lovely back then when club penguin was relevant.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Charlie, Templars: Next time yall do events maybe we can do like games with in the event so its not so boring and were js sitting there spamming tatics cuz thats boring. id say more but i cant rn.
Joonie, Help Force: Nope, just that events like this where the community comes together should be prioritized more, and more attendence from the community should also be encouraged, also thanks to the CC heads for hosting!
Lucifer, Help Force: TASTE THE RAINBOW
Words from Jojo Teri
Despite the low turnout, the community should not be dissatisfied. This year, the parade was organised in a community-based format by the Community Committee, instead of an army-based format like some of the previous years. A drop in the numbers was expected as it was a change from the usual. Having gotten the experience and wisdom now, the next Parade, next year, will be hosted more thoroughly, securing bigger success.
The Pride Parades for the army community are more than just an event, so the number does not really matter anyway. Having been hosted every year since 2021, it has since become a tradition. With 38.6% of the community, more than one-third (based on the census) being part of the LGBTQ+, it only felt right to keep this tradition to give those people the ability to celebrate as they did the years prior.
Let’s hope that the community becomes more united when it comes to people’s differences. Not only when it comes to people’s sexuality, but also stuff like race and religion. Members of the community should respect each other regardless of their different beliefs, preferences, and characteristics. Of course, there will be army drama, as there should be, but on a deeper level, outside of army stuff, we are all humans, and we should respect each other. The community has been doing great so far in this part, being very accepting compared to most parts of the internet, or even real life, but there is always room for improvement.
In conclusion, it seems like the Pride Parade this year was not as large as those held before. However, it is worth mentioning that every movement makes a difference. Furthermore, the army community is expected to show up in massive numbers at the upcoming Legends Cup XVI tournament. What are your thoughts on this year’s Pride Parade? Do you believe that it would be different next June?
