Foundation & Background

Xing founded the Templars of Club Penguin on April 4, 2018, by recruiting his long-term friends and experienced army members. The army soon declared war on the Elite Guardians and emerged victorious in early May. Soon after, Elmikey joined the group to assist Xing and merged the Rebel Penguin Marines into the Templars. However, internal struggles struck when Security defaced the army on May 5.

Xing and Elmikey revived the Templars on July 4. They quickly recruited their former members and began filling up ranks. Cobra joined as an advisor and later served as acting leader. During this period, Reacon and Epic101 also took up leadership roles. The army registered with the then-newfound Club Penguin Online League and continued to expand. They became one of the fastest-growing groups in the community.

World War VII

One of the most glorious moments of the Templars is the seventh World War, a major conflict in the CPPS army history. Templars’ revival caused immediate tension because Xing brought on Elmikey and Cobra. Both leaders were well-known rivals of the Rebel Penguin Federation. An accidental raid by a low-ranking RPF member sparked a massive battle. Silverburg and Popsiclebeak then accused Templars of multilogging during the fight. Consequently, the RPF declared the Second Great Holy War. Xing and Cobra handled all diplomacy to find allies against the Federation. On the battlefield, the Templars stayed defensive because they lacked the numbers to attack. Tensions peaked during Operation Dynamis when a spy named Plane infiltrated TCP’s High Command. RPF used his findings to denounce the army and expose their secrets.

The tides shifted as groups like the Pizza Federation and Elite Guardians joined the Templars. The Club Penguin Socialist Movement and a Water Ninjas revival also supported their cause. These groups formed the Red Dawn Alliance to challenge the RPF. Edu14463, Cookky2, Cobra, Elmikey, and Xing founded this powerful coalition. They won the war by rallying almost the entire community against the Federation. Surprisingly, the Templars shut down before the conflict officially ended. In the aftermath, both the RPF and the RDA claimed total victory. Xing and Elmikey returned to lead TCP after the World War. The army averaged twenty members but struggled to grow. Eventually, they rebranded as the Neo-RPF. They continued their operations under that new name for a short time

Rebirth

Xing laid a new generation for TCP on Club Penguin Rewritten in October 2018. Cobra, Clade, and Jay joined Xing as leaders. Clade and Jay managed the AUSIA division, which regularly reached sizes of over twenty. These leadership teams remained short-lived despite their early success. The army also joined an alliance led by the former PZF leader, Neptune. Later, Xing, King William, Clade, and Liam moved the Templars to Club Penguin Online. Clade and Xing reformed the army structure to improve operations. The group eventually hit sizes near fifty and became a major army. The Templars reached the Christmas Chaos finals in 2018. However, massive controversy during the tournament sparked a new war.

Templars in the early days

The rivalry between the Elite Guardians and the Templars reignited during this period. The Templars initially defeated the Elite Guardians in the Christmas Chaos semi-finals. The Elite Guardians called the result biased and immediately declared war. Cobra rejoined the Elite Guardians leadership to lead the charge against the Templars. The Elite Guardians emerged victorious in that conflict. Later, the Templars and Elite Guardians faced off again in a rematch involving the Pirates. Both armies ultimately lost the Christmas Chaos tournament.

Templar Exodus

The Templars Exodus began on January 12, 2019, between the Templars and the New Viking Alliance. Tensions already ran high following the Christmas Chaos tournament. Conflict erupted when several Templar High Command members left to form the Winged Hussars. This new group sought help from the Elite Guardians and the New Viking Alliance. Consequently, war broke out across the community. The fighting stopped after one week as the armies moved to Club Penguin Rewritten. The war officially ended on January 27, 2019. This peace split the Blizzard server between the NVA and the Templars. Finally, the community recognized the WH as a separate, independent army.

The Templars operated on Club Penguin Rewritten for several months after leaving Club Penguin Online. Little is known about the specific events during this timeframe. Records suggest the Templars allied with RPF in February. These allies fought a war against the New Viking Alliance. The Templars and RPF ultimately secured a victory in that conflict. That time when Club Penguin Army Battleground was not the go-to for CP armies, we can say that this is where the legit “legacy” seemed to end as the 2020s came into sight and the new generations started hauling.

WHAT ABOUT … THESE TIMES?

Well, an army that does and operates like a serious and organized army, like the Templars, will probably never see the true struggle. Only until they choose to do so. Let’s look at what TCP has been over the past year or so.

The Templars began 2025 as a powerful major army. However, they dropped to small/medium status on February 2, 2025. But this setback did not discourage the group. They regularly maxed over twenty members during a war against the Army of Club Penguin. The army finally regained Major status on June 15 that year. They kept this rank throughout the entire summer season. During this peak, the Templars achieved high attendance in both events and tournament battles.

TCP faced another drop right as the summer season ended. This reclassification followed their loss in the Divine Reckoning War against the Void Troops. The army fell just four days after Dawnables rejoined the leadership team. Since then, the group had remained at a small/medium status as they have struggled to consistently average over twenty troops for several weeks.

Ultimately, TCP finally regained its major status on Sunday, December 28. They successfully averaged more than twenty troops for three straight weeks. New faces like Zez and Borapenguins were at the helm that time. Additionally, Sidie9 returned as the “Regent of Jerusalem.”

In addition, the army maintained a consistent top-five spot on the Top Ten Armies leaderboard. They also won the Around the World Cup II marking their first tournament victory of the year in the S/M division. More recently, the army displayed its strength in the March Madness XI tournament in March 2026. TCP defeated the Help Force in the quarter-finals by staying composed and using cleaner formations. followed by their victory against the Water Vikings. This moved them into the semi-finals against the Army of Club Penguin. While they lost that specific battle, TCP remained a dominant force in the major army community.

TCP’s trophy for MMIX

Today, the Templars held their anniversary event led by the leaders and legends. The event featured medal awards to the people who have committed and are continuing to do so for the army. It’s amazing to see armies continuing to grow and celebrate their yearly birthday. Eight years is a crazy number, and it is only going to continue increasing. As this post comes to an end, we mark TCP’s wins and performance throughout the year and the goals they have set going forward. Most importantly, Shallissa has officially been granted leadership in the army. In addition, Sidie has officially been granted empress of the army followed by her own speech.

In addition, Club Penguin Armies conducted an interview with both Xing and Sidie9, who are both the most experienced in the army.

Eight years later, what can you say about TCP?

Xing: The Templars are the centerpiece of Club Penguin Armies. Without a strong Templars, this community dies further and further daily. We now have Jemma at the helm, so, there is no need to worry much longer. Templars is absolutely the most resilient army of all time. No matter the hardships we’ve been through, miraculously, we always end up unscathed. That my friend, is a quality that no other army has. Frankly, I’m proud to be a Templar because of what we’ve survived and our victories.

Sidie9: It’s undeniable that the modern Club Penguin army era would be unrecognisable without the Templars. I am honoured to be a part of this army’s extensive legacy. Though the Templars had gone through immense challenges to remain strong in the absence of Xing, our army is now the most formidable it has been since 2022. From our amazing community itself to the victories on the battlefield, TCP is undoubtedly among the greatest armies of all time.

What do you say to your people?

Xing: Be proud to be a Templar. The only army with any such culture to be proud of and a history that you can indulge in. Such other armies are bland, unpatriotic, full of themselves and wish not to display any sort of real pride for what they stand for. You are apart of the greatest Empire to grace the army community and you should be proud of this. We fight constantly against the odds and we always come out on top. Be proud that, you as a Templar, are the one who stands against the world and wins. You are the best, you are the greatest, you are a Templar.

Sidie9: Success is your birthright. Seize this moment, the sun will never set on our empire again. It is truly an honour to be your leader, I love you all.

With that being said, it’s clear the Templars have set clear goals of what’s to come, and we only hope for them to achieve that. The Templars have a whole year until their next anniversary, with perhaps many things waiting to happen. What do you feel about the Templars’ longevity? Will the army surprise us once again?
