In a possible show of solidarity in the small-medium army community, the Thunder Troops and Fire Vikings have now announced their partnership. This announcement comes a wave of resurgences, battles, and diplomatic shifts from within the community. However, things took a sharp turn when the Thunder Troops decided to shutdown.

Thunder Troops’ Recent Path
The Thunder Troops re-emerged on October 7, 2025, led by Turtel, AB, xdemon, and Tiny Guy. The group was founded by Jack and had their first event in 2011, but had a short one-year run before inactivity ultimately led to closure. Within minutes of receiving permission from the previous leader, Antman, the Troops announced an alliance with the Romans on October 9 and declared war on Special Weapons and Tactics on the same day. This aggressive opening indicates their pressure to building relevance within the community.

Fire Vikings’ Fiery Journey
Yellow Typer founded the Fire Vikings on November 16, 2024. They have been through a few phases of activity. They first opened with a maximum of 11. Afterwards, they allied with both the Templars and later SWAT in May 2025. After a merger with the Dark Pirates in December 2024, they came back in February 2025 under Pain Of War‘s regime and maxed 10 at their reopening. The army has faced some challenges during their time including a crusade waged against them by the Templars in June 2025, as well as the recent stepping down of one of their leaders by the name of Zuj0t on October 10, 2025. But the Vikings continue to keep up with recruitment and training and have experienced setbacks in practice battles against armies like the Shadow Legionnaires and the Scarlet Republic, but the Fire Vikings are still pushing on.

The Alliance Announcement
On October 12, both army leaders announced their alliance via joint posts on their own Discord servers. The alliance calls for shared recruitment, joint practice battles, and potential mutual support in wars or tournaments. Both groups have reached this structural compromise at a critical time, while the Thunder Troops are at war with SWAT and the Fire Vikings are dealing with post-leadership transition. This alliance could provide both sides assistance in troops and depth of strategy.

Sudden Shutdown
On October 14, xdemon announced the immediate shutdown of the Thunder Troops, thus ceasing operations.

thunder troops leadership structure was unsustainable and many hcom were unsatisfied with internal issues so we decided itd be best to not waste time and energy in an army which wasn’t working
