STARTING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Mare’s journey in the community began in April 2020, when she enlisted in the Special Weapons and Tactics, but she also split her time between SWAT and the Golds Army. She ultimately left the Golds, preferring to spend more time with her friends in SWAT. Mare would quickly rise through the ranks in SWAT until the announcement of a merger with the Doritos of Club Penguin.

On April 26th, she created the One Direction Army alongside her friends Aubz, Frankie, and Izzy. The newly established army rose to prominence as a small/medium army on the army scene. Under Mare’s leadership, the army saw sizes of 25+ troops and was a constant powerhouse in the S/M top ten, as well as participating in numerous tournaments.

BACK FOR TACTICAL WARFARE

Mare left ODA, with experience under her belt in late July 2020, to assist SWAT in their chaotic war against the Water Vikings, also known as the Eagre Foray. She was promoted to leader during the war and helped command her army for the remainder of the war’s duration. Following the Vikings’ win in the memorable Eagre Foray war, SWAT continued to fight and participate in wars, gaining momentum along the way.

Mare has since led SWAT through several wars, most notably the Flash Nemesis War against the Army of Club Penguin and Operation Templaria against Templars, which resulted in a loss and a win, respectively. Mare stepped down from her leadership role at SWAT on August 12th, 2021, after completing more than a year.

MOVING UPWARDS AND ONWARD

Mare achieved S/M army legend status in December 2021. This achievement also recognized her time with the Dua Inn Lipa Fighters, another army she established. This achievement is a testament to her work within the community.

DILF reached sizes of 30 during their time, cementing themselves as a formidable S/M army. The army returned briefly, along with co-leaders Aaronstone, DrQueen, Crazzy, Panini, and Graceee.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Mare to revisit her time in the Special Weapons and Tactics and her army career overall.

When you returned to SWAT, you jumped straight into multiple wars. How did you handle it? Do you believe the wars played an important part in your success?

I was really passionate about leading and had a lot of energy for it. I was motivated to do good, regardless of whether we won or lost. At the end of the day, what mattered was that we tried, and I’m proud of that. Looking back on all those wars, they taught me how to lead effectively and helped me improve my leadership skills. They also gave me the chance to observe techniques used by other armies, which I could then adopt to benefit my own. Most importantly, the wars created a lot of engagement within the army I led. During wartime, there was always a boost in size, and we successfully took SWAT from SM to major.

Your army career has been heavily influenced by the goal of having fun with your friends. Are there any names you would like to mention who have helped you along your journey?

Orange, Graceee, Aubz, Aaronstone, Crazzy, Regan, Stare3000, P A N I N I, Ganger90, Lucifer, Coolguy — These people were always there for me throughout all parts of my leading time, I’m grateful for each of them.

As you are aware, the current generation has not seen the same level of success and greatness as its predecessors. What valuable advice would you give to the current leaders?

I am not aware, I haven’t really been cautious of what’s been going on in SWAT for a long time now. I guess some advice I’d have to give to SWAT right now is don’t let the adults bully you!

Lastly, what has been one of your favourite moments in SWAT?

My retirement because it brought together all the people I cared about, and they all attended. I was so happy and felt incredibly proud of everything I had accomplished.

Mare is a prime example of how dedication and hard work can carry you to success. Despite her being new to the community, her efforts have resulted in the placement of an impressive legacy within SWAT. She advises future leaders to be open to learn, improve their leadership skills, and observe how other armies perform. How will future leaders rise to the legacy that Mare has established? What can we learn from her noteworthy leadership accomplishments?
