On January 18, Shrekkks, leader of the Dark Pirates, announced his official retirement from the army. This comes after a period of inactivity in his journey as their leader.

Once a pirate, always a pirate

Shrekkks first joined the army community in 2021, being recruited into Templars. He quickly rose through the ranks, achieving the Staff rank of Lieutenant. Unfortunately, after another promotion to General, Shrekkks was demoted due to inactivity around 2023.

Following his demotion, in 2024, Shrekkks decided to create an army. This, however, did not go to plan, and he merged into Dark Pirates for the rank of Master Commander. Due to being an active staff member and frequently recruiting, he earned a promotion to High Command. Shortly after his promotion, Ninja Leader announced he would take a short break, leaving Shrekkks as acting leader. Upon Ninja’s return, he promoted Shrekkks to leader, citing his hard work. However, a few months later, Shrekkks would leave DPC, and join the People’s Imperial Confederation.

ALL ABOARD

Following the Dark Pirates revival on December 28, 2024, Shrekkks had been heavily involved with the army again. He served as leader although unfortunately, disappeared from the army. However, on January 18, 2025, he would make a return, after a new Discord account joined the Dark Pirates Discord, initially claiming to be a recruit. It was quickly revealed to be Shrekkks after providing evidence of his identity. He then was granted permission to make an announcement by army leader, Yellow Typer. Shrekkks’ departure now leaves Yellow Typer solo leading the army, amidst a war against PIC.

Following recent events, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Shrekkks for an interview.

What led you to leave Dark Pirates? Did other army members force you out?

Absolutely not. No one forced me out, and I will never allow myself to be treated that way. My decision to leave was solely due to real-life challenges and responsibilities that demand my focus and commitment. Leaving Dark Pirates was not solely my decision. While I am capable of continuing to lead, the responsibilities and obligations in my personal life have become increasingly demanding, requiring my full attention.

Would you ever return to CPA? Would you return to DPC or another army?

I’ve come to the realization that I will not be returning. Every year, I’ve faced personal struggles, and I no longer have the time or capacity to return to the army I once served in, nor will I join another. I’ve made a promise to myself to never endure unnecessary suffering again, and I intend to obey that

What do you see for the future of DPC?

What I envision for the future of DPC is vast and promising, but above all, I see the unwavering determination that the new leader has instilled within the army, a level of commitment that far surpasses anything I have contributed in the past.

Club Penguin Armies also reached out to Yellow Typer for a statement.

Why do you think Shrekkks left DPC?

Well the reason why shrekkks left is because as his life was processing, he has become inactive and through all of his responsibilities, he didn’t dedicat the time and effort to lead the army anymore. Someone asked why are all of the leaders leaving and he responded with “How can I lead an army if all of my schedule is messed up”

To conclude, Shrekkks’ departure from DPC will have a lasting impact on the army. But what do you think? How will Yellow Typer manage now that he is solo leading? Will Dark Pirates carry on without Shrekkks? How will the army cope in their current war? We do not yet know, but we will certainly keep a close eye on this topic.
