Information and Rules

Christmas Chaos XIV is set to commence in just one week on November 30. In the first round armies will fight in the ‘Qualifiers’ to earn their place in this year’s ‘Quarter Finals’. Unlike last year, the tournament will last four weeks, ending on December 21. This allows the community to spend quality time celebrating the holiday season without any worries.

Qualifiers: November 30 & December 1

Quarter Finals: December 7 & 8

Semi Finals: December 14 & 15

Grand Finals: December 21

To allow the tournament to run as smoothly as possible, the following rules will be in place throughout the Christmas Chaos XIV:

  • Reviews will only be allowed for the Grand Finals and will be conducted by unaffiliated (to the battle) Head Judges.
  • Just like in the previous tournaments, there have been deadlines set concerning the review process:
    • Leaders cannot request a review after three hours from the long results being posted and they cannot submit evidence more than 21 hours after requesting a review (videos should be submitted as soon as possible).
    • Head Judges must inform both armies about the review and if it is going ahead as soon as possible.
    • The deadline for the Head Judges to review the battle will be 24 hours after the evidence deadline.
  • Dual enlistment is not allowed, and individuals may only represent one army for the duration of the tournament, even if their army is eliminated. The dual enlistment deadline for those currently enlisted in other armies is November 23, effective immediately. Vets rejoining after this announcement must provide proof of their veteran status. Admins will coordinate with armies throughout the tournament to address concerns, including verifying enlistment prior to this time if necessary.
  • The judging will be undertaken by Club Penguin Army Judges and organized by the Head Judges.
  • All armies have the right to veto two judges per battle. Once an army has vetoed two judges, it cannot veto again for that battle. Vetoes cannot occur past the four-hour mark and the Head Judges can not be vetoed per new judging guidelines.
  • Judges will be announced well in advance (typically shortly after the week’s schedule is announced).
  • All battles will have three judges, except for the Grand Finals, which will have five judges.
  • Each army will have two vetoes per battle. However, in the Grand Finals, the participating armies will be allowed to have three vetoes, only if there are enough judges to ensure the places are filled. If there aren’t, the current veto rules will remain.
  • Anybody banned from CPA Battleground cannot participate in tournament battles (including but not limited to attending on alts, leading from Discord or other third-party websites, etc.) If found guilty of violating this rule by administrator discretion, the army they are involved with will be disqualified.
  • To avoid color clashes in battles, the Head Judges have requested that armies wear differing colors for the battles that may have a clash in color during the tournament.
  • No costumes are allowed to be worn at any point during the tournament.

Seedings

Much like in previous years, the seedings for Christmas Chaos XIV have been calculated from the past four weekly Top Tens. Those at the bottom of the calculations have been put into the Qualifier round. Whereas, those not in the bottom six will go straight into the Quarter Finals. Therefore, bypassing the qualifiers. The results were as follows:

[1] Army of Club Penguin

[2] Rebel Penguin Federation

[3] Aliens

[4] Doritos of Club Penguin

[5] Help Force

[6] Templars of Club Penguin

[7] Winged Hussars

[8] Special Weapons and Tactics

[9] The Bastille Vanguard

[10] People’s Imperial Confederation

[11] Fire Vikings

Qualifier Timings

On Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, six armies will take to the battlefield to fight for their place in the Quarter Finals. To ensure the battles are spread out as evenly as possible, the first battle will take place on Saturday with the remaining two taking place on Sunday.  As previously stated, the remaining five armies will not be in action until the following weekend, automatically earning a place in the Quarter Finals.

We would like to give a massive thank you to Master DS for working tirelessly to create the graphics for Christmas Chaos XIV. Without her, we would not have the amazing graphics that we all see today. Additionally, we would like to thank the Head Judges for their continued support and cooperation, in helping us to host this tournament. With that being said, do you have any predictions for the upcoming tournament? Who do you think will move forward to the quarterfinals?
