BACKGROUND

UMA’s Founding and Early Controversy

Rebel Penguin Federation and Underground Mafias Army‘s histories were intertwined from the very beginning. Firstly, Pink Mafias established UMA on January 8, 2007, as a dominant force that rivaled Army of Club Penguin in size. At the same time, UMA developed a reputation for its alleged exploits and hacks of the Club Penguin game. These allegations brought them into conflict quickly with ACP along with the army’s raids of ACP’s Mammoth. Consequently, they teamed up with Nachos and Club Penguin United Nations Space Commission in their fight against ACP.

World War 3

Founding of Rebel Penguin Federation

Four months after the army’s creation, Commando717 led a revolt against UMA’s leadership as a prominent staff member. Over time, he became convinced that UMA’s abuses of the game went too far due to multiple exposés by ACP. Thanks to his misgivings, he used UMA’s Blue Mafia division to found a new army. His new army became RPF which emerged as a possible threat to UMA’s dominance. As many UMA troops left, RPF quickly grew to notable sizes shortly after its opening.

Internal Problems in UMA

On the other hand, the Mafias’ internal drama served as a disadvantage against the Clovers. At the same time, ACP and UMA’s war reached a stalemate as neither army came out on top. However, UMA’s higher sizes made victory significantly harder for the Clovers. After ACP’s defeat on Mammoth, ACP and UMA agreed to a ceasefire that gave ACP a chance to regroup. Finally, multiple posts about UMA’s controversial activities led to Pink Mafias’ ban from Club Penguin.

Simultaneously, RPF formed an alliance with ACP and Club Penguin Air Force in their mutual quest to crush UMA. As such. the lines that defined World War 3 were established. With their new allies, ACP finally reached equal sizes and crushed UMA on Wool Socks. After the defeat, Mpenguin, the new UMA leader, surrendered to the newly formed alliance. Lastly, the war established RPF and UMA as long-term enemies and weakened the latter significantly.

UMA vs. ACP battle

World war iv & AUGUST 2009 WAR

Defeat of ACP

A year later, the two armies joined forces with Nachos, Watex Warriors, Ice Warriors, Black Bandits, and Tacos to form the Great Alliance. Their main motivation aimed to stop ACP from taking over the server of Mammoth which was crucial to much of the army community. Subsequently, the strong alliance handed the Clovers its first major defeat In its history. However, the friendly relations between RPF and UMA did not last long.

Invasion of Tuxedo & Commando717’s Retirement

Some months later, RPF and UMA were both in a state of rebuilding to previous heights. During a time of significant turbulence, UMA declared war on RPF and scheduled multiple invasions on their servers. Due to RPF’s low sizes, UMA successfully invaded Tuxedo, Summit, Yeti, and Yukon from the Rebels. As RPF lost its capital, it suffered its first real defeat in its history. In the meantime, Commando717 retired from RPF as the army entered a weakened state.

MARCH 2010

After several ups and downs, UMA declared war on RPF in March 2010 and scheduled an invasion on Tuxedo. During the battle, UMA easily acquired the territory and the Rebels’ entire nation. Consequently, RPF fell under a UMA protectorate until UMA lost a war against ACP not even days later. Finally, the two armies did not have another major run-in until 2013 even though there were minor battles.

JULY 2013 declaration of war

Three years later, UMA declared war on the Rebels while RPF was deep into war with the Nachos. However, the war ended quickly as both armies became preoccupied with war with other armies. The Rebels were still deep into war as Doritos of Club Penguin declared war on UMA. As such, RPF agreed to a war where they returned any land they won. Furthermore, the Nachos war resulted in no major war happening. Additionally, the ongoing Legends Cup tournament provided another reason for no UMA-RPF war. Their efforts showed in their tournament victory a month later against Nachos and DCP. Consequently, the two armies did not face each other again until the Club Penguin Private Server era.

CLUB PENGUIN PRIVATE SERVER CONFLICTS

Elmikey’s Coup & Formation of Rebel Penguin Marines

While RPF stayed open after Club Penguin’s closure, UMA returned shortly after on Club Penguin Rewritten. However, the army became the Romans shortly after due to a decrease in size. Next, Ehroyals81 decided to revive UMA in November 2017 with the help of Zeke. At the same time, disagreements about Elmikey‘s leadership of RPF led to internal drama within RPF. Ultimately, he was removed from leadership for his dictatorial behavior, inactivity, and inappropriate conduct. Many RPF troops did not approve of the decision and formed Rebel Penguin Marines. RPM’s main goal aimed to return Elmikey to his previous position and oust those that removed him.

Formation of UMADKE & War of Roman Subjugation

Simultaneously, UMA allied with the Dark Knight Empire and Tubas to fight the Romans. UMA and DKE’s new alliance quickly named themselves UMADKE and attempted to raid a Romans event. This event combined with Clemont4‘s revelations about Color50’s misdeeds contributed to the Romans’ declaration of war on the newly formed alliance. A few days into the war, RPF joined the war effort at the battle of Deep Freeze to help the Romans. Despite their assistance, both sides claimed victory and there was no official victor. The battle became one of the longest battles in CPR Armies’ history.

Another crucial development was the formation of the New Viking Alliance which aimed to defeat RPF and DKE. However, the strategic alliance continued to be one of the most important in CPA before its disbandment in October 2019. Finally, the Romans’ withdrawal from any future battles made UMADKE consider themselves the victors. The conflict between Romans and New Viking Alliance ultimately was the final conflict UMA and RPF participated in against in one another.

End of RPF-RPM Conflict

Following the war’s end, RPM raided RPF’s event on December 12, 2017 during their Operation: Rebel Burst. Furthermore, other armies such as the Gangrene Gang and Gout Scouts were present at the raid as adversaries. Subsequently, Elmikey’s kick from the game caused many troops to log off. As a result, both armies declared themselves victorious. Moreover, Elmikey’s hacks of the RPF website and CPR caused him to be permanently banned from the latter. Finally, RPM shut down as many troops left the army. Over the next year, RPF was rebuilt to be one of the largest armies in the community. In the meantime, UMA experienced multiple shutdowns along with many conflicts up until their final shutdown in 2021.

RPF vs. RPM

Conclusion

Throughout their histories, both armies saw their fair deal of hardship but also many bright spots. For example, RPF’s split from UMA eventually helped them become one of the strongest armies the community has ever seen.  On the other hand, UMA became an iconic army due in part to its controversial nature. At the same time, UMA strongly influenced the path forward after Club Penguin’s closure before many other original armies returned. In conclusion, it is important to pay respects to the forebearers who set the course for the community’s rise from the ashes. What do YOU think of the RPF and UMA rivalry?  Did you learn something new about either army?
