Fun X Time’s Version: Top Favorite Tournaments

Tournaments have been the determinant of multiple events in the army community. Many use tournaments to measure performance, enter war, or just fascinate themselves by looking at the intense competition. This post lists my favorite tournaments.

Foreword

Tournaments are seasonal, competitive games held for the army community, by the army community. At Club Penguin Armies, the administration decides what tournaments of the year will fit best in the community. The selection of tournaments accords to the community’s best interest. As a result, armies never fail to miss out on any tournament; all armies, strong or weak, put up a show by partaking in the tournament. However, one must remember that these tournaments are not solely to know which force is powerful. It is also used to make an army self-aware of its virtues, as well as to help armies unlock their potential.

Keeping this vision in mind, let me list five of my favorite tournaments organized by CPA.

5. Around The World Cup

The Around The World Cup tournament was presented to the army board in May, winning majority accent. According to Former CPA Chief Executive Producer Mchappy, the name of the tournament was inspired by the English novel “Around the World in Eighty Days” by Jules Verne. The choice of such a tournament name was something I found creative. Moreover, it was a good preview of summer that had just begun. The tournament was divided into time zones, which incorporated inclusiveness. Furthermore, it had already been two months since the last tournament, and this tournament filled the less eventful month. The tournament was miniature; which was absolutely what I would have preferred to see. This year, the tournament saw its first iteration. Eventually, the People’s Imperial Confederation and the Elite Guardians managed to claim the final trophy.

4. Beach Brawl

The Beach Brawl tournament fascinates its purpose by name. However, its name is not the reason for my liking of this tournament. The tournament encloses only small-medium armies to participate. This summer-concluding tournament opens an opportunity for smaller armies to grab a win, too. In 2023, the People’s Imperial Confederation made its way out of the tournament. This weekend, six armies are expected to compete in a tough battle.

3. Christmas Chaos

The Christmas Chaos tournament is unquestionably one of the most rejuvenated-for games of the year. The tournament determines which army is the most skillful by the end of the year. Armies often use the tournament as an opportunity to improve their statistics for one last time in the year. This month-long tournament fuels enthusiasm in the army community widely, as winter holidays accompany the occasion. Last year, the Water Vikings made their way out of this tournament after defeating the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin.

Did you know? Kingfunks4 created the Christmas Chaos tournament during his time as an administrator at the Club Penguin Army Central.

2. Legends Cup

The Legends Cup tournament is legendary by its name. This year, the Cup was represented by the color gold for its merit. The Cup challenges armies to beat the heat during the summer. For many, summer holidays make attendance at the battles of this tournament easier. Moreover, almost all active armies register their armies on the battlefield, increasing the competition drastically. This year, the Help Force acquired their highest sizes in a while after leading a crushing defeat against the Rebel Penguin Federation in the Grand Finals of the tournament. Comparatively, this tournament is only better compared to Christmas Chaos. The two tournaments share many characteristics.

1. Trick Or Treat Trials

The Trick Or Treat Trials tournament is a special Halloween-themed mini-tournament. It is not a bracket-style tournament, which opens a space for small-medium armies and major armies to easily meet each other in combat. Rather, it was a point-based tournament. Moreover, this tournament had two types of rooms that influenced what would happen nexttreat rooms and trick rooms. For example, if an army selects one of two rooms, their option will determine what they are bound to. Their selection could force an army leader to play Cart Surfer or limit what tactics they may use! This is one of my most amusing tournaments, as it extends battles from just tactics to fun minigames. In 2023, the Trick or Treat Trials tournament proved to be successful for the Army of Club Penguin, when they defeated the Help Force. While only six armies competed in this mini-tournament, it was certainly an amusing one. It was also not very long.

Trick Or Treat Trials (2023) tournament, one of the most irregular tournaments of the year

These were the top five tournaments from my perspective. It is worth remembering that every tournament is unique in its way and makes the events in the army community more diverse. However, tournaments can also cause unpredictable events, such as a declaration of war. Overall, tournaments respect the vision of the 2024 army map curated by CPA, which is to create competition in the army community. Is the community stagnant? Find a tournament!

My personal favorite has been the Trick Or Treat Trials tournament. From Around the World Cup to Legends Cup, I have also included valuable characteristics that help make every tournament unique. This was just my version, what about yours? What is your favorite tournament? Do you wish to see a new tournament in the future?
