June was one of the most active months for Club Penguin Armies seeing 91 posts being posted. With that, a lot of moments were made. However, only five can make it into this post.
Throughout June, moments were being made left, right and centre. From retirements to the Legends Cup announcement, a lot of big moments were in contention to be in our ‘Top 5 Moments of June’. Nevertheless, the Club Penguin Armies staff have voted and decided on the top five moments of June. Without further ado, let us get into it.
5. Ice Warriors Celebrates 17th Anniversary and Obtains Highest Max of The Year
Written by: Mare
The Ice Warriors were founded on June 1, 2007, by Army Legend Iceyfeet1234. Throughout the years, the Warriors have been a consistent presence within the community. They are most notable for being consistent semifinalists in the Christmas Chaos XI, AUSIA Arena, and Legends Cup XI, and for winning March Madness VII. The Ice Warriors were also well known for their large sizes during the COVID era, consistently maxing in the hundreds, being the biggest army, aiming for map dominance, and forming the Black Ice Alliance alongside the Dark Warriors and the Rebel Penguin Federation, seeking more control.
Since their shutdown, due to issues arising in 2023, the Warriors left the community and became a gaming server. Despite the controversy, IW continued to host events occasionally on Club Penguin Army Battleground, including their 17th-anniversary celebration. This anniversary event had 99 penguins in attendance, marking the highest max of the CPAB era.
4. The Around The World Cup Concludes; Two Winners Crowned
Written by: Coolguy
The Around The World Cup was officially revealed on May 12th, seeing a new tournament being etched into Club Penguin Armies’ history with a creative format. The format saw armies compete in a round-robin tournament, aiming to top their group to progress to the finals. Several battles took place during different time zones, showcasing the strengths and weaknesses of each army. Out of the two brackets, only four out of eight armies made it to the finals. These finalists consisted of one major and one small/medium army from each bracket.
Ultimately, only two armies could win when put up against an army of the same size classification as them. The People’s Imperial Confederation were able to come out on top in yet another s/m tournament battle. Despite the Winged Hussars putting up a valiant fight, PIC was able to clean-sweep the battle, winning another trophy. The major side of the finals saw Elite Guardians and Army of Club Penguin reheat their rivalry on the battlefield. In what was an intense battle, the Guardians ultimately came out on top, making history by winning their first trophy since reviving.
3. People’s Imperial Confederation Achieves Major Status
Written by: Edu
For the second time this year, the People’s Imperial Confederation made it to major status. The Confederation saw a boost in their numbers through the usage of Club Penguin Journey. In some events of theirs, they were able to reach high sizes of 25+. Noticeable growth was, therefore, seen in previous editions of Top Ten placements. This rise made it possible for them to move up to major Army status in March. However, after three weeks, they could not keep up with the requirements to retain their status and fell once again to small/medium. Nonetheless, this did not stop the Confederation from exerting and showcasing its dominance in tournaments and battles. Relentlessly, the leaders have proceeded to recruit, train their troops, and improve their army in the meantime. This effort resulted in another move up for PIC, for the second time in 2024.
2. Club Penguin Armies Presents Legends Cup XIV
Written by: Coolguy
On June 13th, Club Penguin Armies officially released a post announcing the fourteenth edition of the Legends Cup. However, in his announcement, Mchappy revealed that this year’s Legends Cup would be a bit different than normal. This edition of the Cup was revealed to be a double-elimination. This upped the stakes for the competing armies. It meant that even if an army lost a battle in the run-up to the finals, they could redeem themselves and potentially win the whole tournament. With that being said, it is all to play for in the tournament.
1. Multiple Wars Break Out As Map Unfreezes
Written by: Coolguy
On May 5th, Club Penguin Armies released the new map, allowing armies to start invading freeland and to war on the map for the first time since 2023. Yet, the map was soon frozen after a week of freeland invasions and some surprising war declarations. At the time, unfortunate circumstances meant that the map was unable to be updated. After much perseverance and an Army League Board meeting, it was decided that the map would be unfrozen on June 9th.
The community already had a slight taste of what the map could mean for armies, wars and more. However, predictions were soon made about what would occur on June 9th, also dubbed as Doomsday. Upon the map being unfrozen, armies flocked to schedule invasions and declare war. However, this led to many armies declaring war, leading to some declarations being invalidated. Both Special Weapons And Tactics and Templars declared war, TCP on SWAT and SWAT on Dark Pirates. This was also followed up by the Elite Guardians declaring on Templars. However, only the Templars’ declaration was deemed valid due to them being the first to declare.
Following the invalidation of their war, the Guardians soon declared on Water Vikings after Mchappy spun a wheel to decide who the Guardians should war. Ultimately, the day lived up to its pre-determined name. Undoubtedly, the landscape of armies shifted greatly because of it.
With all that being said, June has seen many memorable moments being made and etched into CPA’s history. Following such a busy month, July is set to have many moments in store as the Legends Cup and invasions continue. What will make it into the top five moments of July? Who will remain in the Legends Cup tournament by the end of the month? Do you agree with the top five moments of June?
