Welcome back to Behind The Scenes, the column where we delve into the day-to-day life of a community member. Sharpshooterlance‘s journey in armies, specifically the Rebel Penguin Federation, started on February 27th, 2019. He had a real-life friend who he played Club Penguin Rewritten and, at the time, who had gotten recruited to RPF. At one point, they invited Lance to watch an event and he thought it was really interesting and later decided to look up the community himself and join it. Since then, he has spent his entire army career with the Rebels.

On June 2nd, 2019 Lance became staff, and then on February 29th 2020, he became part of their High Command. At the time, the Rebels were on a streak in the Top Tens, holding their spot at number one. Not long after their promotion, the army was able to break records on CPR. They were able to host the largest Ausia event as well as the largest RPF event. The army seemed to go from strength to strength.

However, later in the year, in September Lance retired from armies. For a while, many thought it was his last run in armies until he rejoined as a moderator in January 2022. From there, Lance made his way back up the staff ranks until he was able to re-achieve the position of Third in Command in December 2022. Since then, he has continued to work in the army as a 3IC. Alongside this, he has been able to witness many trophy homecomings and battle victories. For his continued efforts within the army and dedication, Lance obtained ‘RPF Rebel’, a Hall of Fame title.

RPF Summer 2020 Olympics, Lance’s one of the most fond memories

Lance was inducted into RPF’s Hall of Fame on May 7th, 2023. When describing his efforts, here is what Elexonck had to say:

Lance has proven himself over the years as being extremely loyal to RPF. Through everything, he chose to return to RPF. Since his return, he has put in very hard work climbing the ranks and as HCOM. This, alongside his strong creativity and tendency to be a regular voice of reason, has proved he is more than worthy of holding this title.

Throughout his time in RPF and armies in general, Lance has gathered many memorable moments. One of his memorable moments allowed him to gain many more. This, of course, is the RPF Olympics, including 2019’s Summer Olympics, his very first Olympics, and the 2020 Summer Olympics, his first Olympics as HCOM. Alongside these moments, he stated that RPF’s participation in World War Rewritten, World War IX, and being inducted into RPF’s Hall of Fame were among his fondest memories. He also has fond memories of leading RPF’s Navy as well as leading RPF’s graphics team and party planning committee.

World War Rewritten

Outside of armies, Lance is a university student currently studying graphic design. Unsurprisingly, his great skills in graphic design are being utilised both in real life and in the army community. One of his hobbies outside of graphic designing is gaming. His favourite game is Minecraft and he loves it because of its replayability. He often plays it with friends in his spare time and, most importantly, has fun.

To learn more about Lance, Club Penguin Armies has gathered a special interview with him.

Who is Lance behind the scenes?

Outside of armies, I’m currently a college student that is studying graphic design. I also work part-time, stream and create content, and coach for a soccer team (so I am very busy haha)

What inspired you to become a graphic designer?

I’ve always been an artist and i’ve also always spent a lot of time on the computer and it made sense to me to combine those two passions! i originally wanted to become more of an illustrator but somewhere along the way i was taught photoshop and i liked how practical graphic design was, so i started putting a lot of effort into learning more about that 🙂

What are your hobbies outside of armies and what do you do for fun?

As for hobbies, I really enjoy drawing, playing guitar, ice skating, and playing a lot of Minecraft (and other video games, but honestly mostly Minecraft). I also really enjoy traveling when i’m able to, and like to spend a lot of time hanging out with friends.

What’s one of your favourite songs to play on the guitar?

Dial drunk by noah kahan

Is there any real-life advice you would give others?

The best real life advice I could think to offer would be to take chances – don’t let fear hold you back! 😀

As you can see, Lance is a truly special part of RPF and the army community as a whole. He has been an incredible asset to the Rebel Penguin Federation and leads a very exciting life. What other big achievements will he achieve both in armies and in real life? Will we see him become a Rebel Commander soon? Will he go on to become one of the best graphic designers the world has ever seen? We, at Club Penguin Armies, wish Lance the best of luck both inside and out of armies.
